Maturing platform for Impact Investing
I've been with Trine since 2018, watching them grow and gain experience. In the first few years, I had several non-performing loans. So far, my defaults make up half of all the interest I received. However, this has greatly improved in recent years.
At first they focused mainly on investing in companies active in B2C (read: selling poor people solar products), but it turns out that hardly ever works out financially. A few years ago they changed focus to B2B, mostly financing larger solar installations for companies in emerging markets. The impact is arguably as big - since it contributes to secure power in countries that sometimes lack it - but lower risk overall.
It appears they have learned from their mistakes and also became more transparent along the way, which is why I'm increasing my commitment to Trine again.

I used Trine since 2018 and have only good to say. Make sure to spread your investments on several lenders and countries to minimize the risk.

I just love Trine
I just love Trine! The whole business model is amazing with a true win win win = give people electricity and a better life + increase solar power in the world + get interest from loans.
I have been investing for 4 years and so far everything has been repaid and with interest. I have made 10 investments so far that has helped 60 tons of CO2 to be avoided. This is 3 times more than my own CO2 emissions the last four years so this is great!
