VelvetJobs Reviews

The highlight was my experience consulting with Bethany. She was a sounding board, an empathetic ear, and a champion through a challenging chapter. She made solid recommendations on my resume format and LI profile to round out the edges. Valuable inputs.

I'd say an opportunity area would be more updated info/roles on the Velvet Jobs job board--I didn't use this much given the other, more robust options.

Bethany was great to work with, with a wealth of experience she pulled in to advise me. The resume she did for me got many compliments as well!

Luann worked with me after I was recently laid off by my previous employer. She brought her expertise and insight into our first meeting and helped me work my two page resume down to one page but also explained to me the science and background of every change she recommended. I can't recommend her enough!

The career coach I am partnering with is truly outstanding. She is knowledgeable, encouraging, supportive, and extremely helpful. She has provided outstanding advice on my career search process. Her advice is both thoughtful and insightful. She responds to questions with a sense of urgency. I have worked with other outplacement firms in my past and this is by far the best experience I have had. I highly recommend!

I had the great pleasure of working with Bethany Greenley in searching for a new role and she is absolutely terrific - empathetic, compassionate, intelligent, and extremely knowledgeable. She helped with resume and cover letter review, interview prep, and her wealth of experience was invaluable. I couldn’t recommend her enough!

VelvetJobs has been a very positive influence on my job search. James has enhanced my resume greatly and given me options for cover letters. He responds quickly and follows up to make sure all my needs are met.

I had the pleasure of working with Luann Horobin as part of the separation package with my previous employer. Luann was amazing! As first steps, Luann overhauled my outdated resume and had some great suggestions for making my LinkedIn profile more impactful. As an executive coach, Luann was extremely insightful. She was instrumental in helping me to prepare for interview questions and quite frankly had to "talk me in off the ledge" so to speak after one very tough interview session. She was so helpful. I cannot say enough about Luann. Her professionalism and advice are top notch! I would recommend Luann to anyone needing assistance in their job search or with career planning. I recently landed a new role and am very excited! Many thanks to Luann.

Wow what a wonderful experience! My representative was James and I can’t begin to tell you how great he was. He was friendly, helpful, professional and funny!

He was able to take my old resume and revamp it in less than 24hours, he also wrote me an entire cover letter from scratch.

This was truly a wonderful experience, I’d highly recommend James he’s a great guy who does outstanding work! Kudos to you James!

VelvetJobs was fast and competent in improving my resume. The agent, James B., was courteous and very expedient in assisting me. Working from an old resume and a job description, he reorganized my resume, condensing it from 3 pages to 2 pages while also succinctly summarizing my knowledge, skills, and abilities as searchable key words. He then generated a cover letter for my target job! The document creation work itself was great, but I was especially impressed by the timeliness--James created the documents and emailed them to me within 24 hours of my emailing him. I was very pleased with VelvetJobs and think that others will be too.

It's so nice to be able to talk to my representative and know I'm getting the help I need for my next job and future job considerations. Through this program, I've learned habits and tips I never knew to exist in the first place. I highly recommend this for anyone seeking help for their career search, whether they know it or not.

Bethany was a pleasure to work with. Very helpful and uplifting.

James was great to work with. He did an amazing job on my resume and cover letter. Great person to talk to. I would highly recommend James.

Got some good info to add to my resume, though I felt like the process was a bit on the impersonal side. I think the staff could have asked me more questions to get to know me better as a candidate.

James is AWESOME! He has been incredibly responsive and timely with all my requests and he really knows what he's doing. I have been so happy with how he's helped me match my qualifications to the various roles I've been seeking. I also appreciate his kindness and motivation. Its been great working with him and I can't recommend him enough.

Velvet jobs responded very timely to my initial inquiry in mid july. Luann was my point of contact and career coach. She was an absolute pleasure to work with! She did an amazing job with providing me some tips and best practices for my cover letter and resume and revamped them in a timely manner.

She was very attentive and listened carefully to my concerns and coached me through the process of navigating a career search after going through a layoff as this was the first time in my career that I've experienced this.

I started the process with Velvet jobs in mid July 2024. My official last day with my previous company was August 19, 2024. I landed a new opportunity and accepted the offer on September 17th!

Thanks so much Luann!

Luann helped me re-format my CV in a more appealing way. She also gave great advice on how to re-vamp my overall brand and how to prepare for interviews. Overall, my experience with her has been very positive. She is highly personable and effective.

My advisor from VelvetJobs is Luann Horobin. Luann has been exceptionally well prepared for our sessions. For our first session, she provided an updated, polished, editable, and flexible version of my resume and cover letter which enabled our extremely productive discussion. These tools are essential resources for my search.

For our second session, we reviewed my LinkedIn profile. I am an extensive and experienced user of LinkedIn, having obtained my previous position because of the effectiveness of my profile. Luann's insights and suggestions are very powerful and clearly she has a keen understanding of how to update, improve, and accurately target my profile. This will be another extremely important tool for my search. I value and appreciate Luann's insights, experience, and thoughtfulness in support of the next chapters of my career.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim Bivens, and I can’t recommend him enough. With a strong professional and military background, we first connected over our shared experiences in the military. Jim then helped me revamp my resume. I thought my resume was good before, but the changes Jim made transformed it into something immaculate. In my opinion, it is now an absolute 10 out of 10.

Jim went beyond just editing my resume—he took the time to understand what I enjoy and even conducted job searches based on my interests. His dedication and personal touch were invaluable. Jim is truly a credit to VelvetJobs.com and an exceptional person to work with. If you’re using VelvetJobs.com, do yourself a favor and ask for Jim. You won’t be disappointed...Mario M.

Job hunting can be a very stressful time, and James has done wonders making sure the process is easy to understand. Very helpful and would recommend to anyone!

James Bivens was very helpful and quickly got me a cover letter and resume to me that I can use for several different job positions. Thank you James for all your help.
