Oh gather ‘round, dear internet folk,
I bring a fine absurdity joke—
A tale where logic took a dive,

I filmed a clip (or so I thought),
My gear, my dog, my master plot—
I swam, I posed, I made it shine,
But turns out… none of that is mine?

“Ah no,” they say, “you’ve got it wrong,
The law is clear, we stand so strong—
You held the vision, yes, that’s cute…
But did you press record? Dispute!”

“You’re in the frame? Then case dismissed!
The cameraman’s the true auteur, you missed!
Your camera, dog, and brilliant scene?
Legally speaking… we’ve never seen.”

And who’s this wizard with the cam?
A ghost? A myth? A secret man?
“We cannot say, it’s all concealed—
Our mystery artist stays well sealed.”

“But trust us,” they add, with business grace,
“We monetize at quite the pace.
We care for rights! (as long as they pay),
And yours… just happened to float away.”

So here I stand, both star and prop,
The owner—yet not, in this strange swap.
A director lost in legal fog,
Outplayed by logic… and ViralHog.

I’m giving 2 stars because, while my earlier experience with ViralHog was positive, this situation completely changed my view.
Before this, they sold my videos and paid me fairly. No issues.

But in this case, they sold my video, received the money, and kept it. I was not paid anything. Their explanation was a clause in the contract.

The key point is that at the time of the sale, they were already aware there was an issue with the video’s status, because a previous agency had not removed it from their database. This was a technical issue that I could not have known about.

In the end, they got paid and I received nothing. Why? Because all the leverage is on their side, and the contract is written to protect them, not the creator.

And one more thing: their payout rule is terrible. They only pay when your balance reaches $75 or more. This means you could give them rights to 100 videos and potentially never receive almost $7,500.

Be very careful before giving them rights to your content.

They sent me a copyright strike for my own content which they have no rights in. It looked similar to theirs of two whales breaching but they didn’t verify before sending the copyright strike affecting my account. I called and they are working on taking it down but they need to do better. These errors affect creators livelihood.
EDIT: they got it taken down and were apologetic but it was very upsetting and took a very long time to fix the error.
EDIT: IT HAPPENED AGAIN! My video renewed only to flag it and get it taken down a SECOND TIME! Very frustrating to have this error on their part last months. I have no relationship or contract with them whatsoever so this was extremely frustrating. Finally my content is back up but it cost me money and time.

My initial experience with ViralHog has been fantastic so far. I had a notable video posted on FB, one of the ViralHog representatives reached out to me and explained the business opportunity and company itself.

The ViralHog website and portal was easy to use, the viralhog representatives are very professional and helped every step of the way. So nothing but positive vibes on my end so far.
