Terrible Experience
UPDATE: Today (January 17, 2025), approximately 1 year and 7 months after my Original Review. Viral Hog decides to respond to me to make my very truthful review seem less devastating for them. It's kind of strange that Viral Hog would attempt to reach out now with insignificant inaccurate details, almost 2 years later rather than speak to me and address my concerns then. Viral Hog mentioned that I used not one but two of their videos. I will again say this with certainty, I have never used anyone's video without the express written consent of the original contact creator. If that Creator then sold their video to Viralhog I can't help that. I will continue to stress and believe, as it is my opinion as well as others, that ViralHog is a money hungry company that cares nothing about people or their lively hood. That is my opinion as well as the opinion of multiple other people who have made videos on YouTube as well as other formats. Not to mention the lawsuits against Viralhog regarding their unethical practices. I wish to put this terrible company in my rearview mirror, as they have traumatized me enough.
After I posted a video and it received views, the video was bought by Viralhog. ViralHog did not contact me to take down the video (which I would have gladly did). When I asked them why they didn't contact me they gave a very RUDE response saying they don't have to give me the privilege of asking me to take it down. But the real reason they put the strike on my page rather than asking me to take it down, was so they can extort me for $200.
In response to my copyright strike Viralhog GENERIC RESPONSE to me was (WHEN WE TAKE ACTION ON ANY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM WE ARE DEFENDING OUR CLIENT’S RIGHTS.) Yet Viralhog said if I want to keep the video up and have themlremove the copyright infringement strike. I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THEM $200. Which means they really don't care if I have the video up, as long as I pay them money.
I am an older woman who make cooking videos and occasionally put up funny animal videos, and they're trying to extort money from me. They keep telling me it's legal. Just because it's legal doesn't mean that it's not a terrible practice all in the name of money. They are messing up people's livelihoods by putting copyright infringement strikes on people's page. I am an elderly lady who's raising my grandkids and now my page cannot get revenue for 7 days. Facebook stopped my monetization because of the copyright strike, which is really going to affect me. I only made $1.46 off of that video and they want to extort $200 from me, which is almost 196% increase from what I made.
This is a terrible company with very low morals. Demanding $200 from a grandmother on low income is terrible. I don't have over 40 million followers like they do, but collectively with all my social medias sites I have over 75,000 followers, an I will be telling my followers EVERY SINGLE DAY until my copyright infringement strike is off (even if it takes a whole year until the strike naturally falls off), the bad business practices of Viralhog.
UPDATE: On August 1, 2023 Viralhog sent me a response to my review. In the response you can see that Viralhog stated,
(From our records, it doesn’t appear that you have done business with us. Please get in touch with our support staff to discuss this matter in more detail.)
First, In order for this review to stay up and be verified, I had to prove that I had dealings and interactions with Viralhog.
Second, telling me to get in touch so we can discuss the matter in more detail, is truly sad to me, Because If Viralhog had actually read my review or took me serious, they would have known that my entire review is what happened as a result of me getting in touch with them to discuss the matter in detail.
Generic responses will not solve anything.

Regarding your claim of extortion, it is essential to clarify that enforcing copyright is a legal right, not an unlawful act. When someone uses copyrighted material without permission, there are several ways to address it, including issuing a copyright strike. Settlement offers, like the one extended to you, are a standard resolution option to avoid prolonged disputes. This process is entirely legal, transparent, and not coercive.
The video in question was obtained from a third party who incorrectly represented themselves as the rightful owner and had no legal authority to use the video, let alone give out permission. As a result, the license you acquired for this specific video was invalid. The responsibility to ensure proper permissions were obtained for any content you use still rests with the user. It's essential to conduct due diligence and verify that content is appropriately licensed before publishing or monetizing it.
Additionally, there is no mention of you using another one of our videos without obtaining permission. This further emphasizes our responsibility to protect our licensors' intellectual property rights and enforce copyright where necessary.
We strive to handle all cases respectfully and fairly. If our response came across as impolite, we sincerely apologize—that was not our intention. The communication you referenced emphasized that we take action to defend our client's rights, in line with our unwavering commitment to ethical business practices and copyright law.
We encourage you to review the matter and consider resolving it amicably carefully. Protecting intellectual property is an essential part of our commitment to supporting content creators and fostering a fair, creative ecosystem.

1 star experience. I licensed my video with them, I started seeing my video being used by very big accounts in various social media platforms however with absolutely no payment or credit given on my end. I am still yet to be paid. Viralhog also failed to protect my video rights and were very late to take down the videos that were not licensed, some got even 9M views... Now it looks like I have money on my account which is the bare minimum amount to get it credit into bank, the number is very low and doesn't seem fair for the amount of views the video has gotten but im over it. Overall will never share another of my videos with them, would not recommend for you to either

I posted a video on Tiktok, not expecting to get the result that I did (6.3M Views, 1.4M likes). So i then got a message from one of the workers at viral hog to ask about licensing the video, I went ahead, as soon as i signed the document the person who messaged me didn't message me back, just completely left me in the dark to find out for myself, anyways my account is set up and I am able to check the dashboard, but you don't get any payouts until your balance reaches $75. I feel like their intention is to get your video out there to earn them a bit of money, i just feel like I've been so close to reaching it but everything had just been forgot about. I've earned this company $100 and I've made nothing. i would LOVE to change my review if someone could point me in the right direction of promoting this video and also maybe change the employees way of handling the situation. thanks.
EDIT: I have recently posted another video and i think it has now reached the threshold. Have not had payment yet, look forward to updating again and amending the stars.
UPDATE: the same two videos have both stayed under the threshold, even though the second video I posted had gotten OVER the threshold and I was excited, I THOUGHT I had finally got a bit of money for these videos. ANYWAYS!! Turns out that they can TAKE MONEY BACK OFF YOU, so they took it off and I emailed, they said this stuff doesn’t usually happen, I don’t understand how this CAN happen then? It’s just weird how it was over the threshold only just then all of a sudden £4 got took off and took me back under, so NO I still haven’t got any money. 1 video has £50 odd and the other has £60 odd, I don’t expect these to ever reach over, I assume they will just keep taking the money back off. Like I say, I wasn’t aware that this could happen, they said lad bible took £4 back…

I am very pleased with ViralHog. I have signed multiple videos with them. They make it easy to communicate and help you with any questions you may have. Chris is absolutely amazing, he has been very responsive and professional throughout the process. I will continue to sign my videos with ViralHog. I have had other creators use my videos without permission and they monetize off of it. I like how ViralHog will help take care of the copyright issues so that others can’t use my videos without permission from ViralHog. My honest truth im so pleased i signed my video with viralHog. My video on TikTok got 2.3 million views so I got in touch with viralHog and signed up with them. In the space of 2 weeks of being with viralHog my video has had 61.5 million views and counting. Anytime i had any questions i emailed the viralHog Team and they got back to me as soon as possible and really helped me out. Massive thanks to the viralHog Team you have been amazing 🤩💯

Waste of time and energy
Waste of time and energy. Their recruiter came to me after seeing my video on Facebook. After seeing the video they had me sign a contract and fill out all their forms. They then email me back saying they will not pay me for the video because it is to low of quality. If it was too low of quality why did your recruiter even approach me for the video. I'm sure viralhog will comment back with some lame excuse. But don't waste my time. Now you have my personal information that I have no idea what you will do with. When they realized the lame corporate responses weren't working on me in email, just sent me their legal office email. Half tempted to waste my lawyers time with their sorry excuse of a company

Steve, The video submitted was low resolution and unusable. Or staff requested from you the original (uncompressed) video. You stated that you still had the original but, upon request, never provided it. We could not proceed without an original quality video. For this reason, we did not have a valid agreement or authentic business experience.

I’ve had a terrible experience with viral hog. I’ve had a video go viral on social media. I uploaded it to viral hog. The video is now a news story all over the world, none of it done by viral hog. I’ve let them know that I want them to go after these publications but they have been completely useless with absolutely terrible communication. I wish I had gone with a different platform, they are useless con artists
