We found the whole experience outstanding, the audio guide was excellent, including the technology that enabled individual movement through the "rooms". Also a big thumbs up to the blonde woman ont he front desk who was so smiling and cheerful despite the relentless repetition of information! Thank you.

Fabulous medieval city
Fabulous medieval city. Lots of winding streets to stroll through. Shops and bars/restaurants serving excellent food. It's worth taking the audio tour of the castle, entertaining commentary and very interesting.

I bought a ticket with headphones…
I bought a ticket with headphones included it shows on my ticket. I was told at the desk that it wasn’t an official seller. Basically a scam. Hopefully the entrance ticket was valid. I do not enjoy surprises like that.

You were in fact able to confirm that the tickets purchased through Visit Carcassonne worked perfectly and gave you access to the Château and Ramparts of the Medieval City of Carcassonne.
Regarding the smartphone audio introduction to the history of the Medieval City of Carcassonne, it was available for download directly below your tickets. You simply had to download it in order to listen to it on your smartphone.
Great city, poor audioguide
The city is great, but the audioguide bought through the visit-carcasonne website is just a rip off. It's a poor ai-translation and lasts for a few minutes with very general content. The audioguide that you can buy at the castle gates is a lot better value for money.

Our introduction audio guide is intentionally designed as an introduction to the history of the Medieval City of Carcassonne. As clearly stated on our website, its purpose is to provide visitors with the essential historical context before or during their visit, rather than an in-depth commentary. If you were already familiar with the city’s history, it’s understandable that some of the content may have felt repetitive.
We also explain on our website that the audio guide available for purchase on-site for the Château and Ramparts is a complementary product focused specifically on the Château and Ramparts. By contrast, our introduction audio guide covers the Medieval City as a whole and provides a concise overview of its history to give visitors the broader context before exploring the site. These two audio guides are therefore designed to complement each other and provide a more complete experience, rather than being comparable products. If you were already familiar with the history of the Medieval City, it’s understandable that you may have found our introduction guide less useful.
That said, we truly appreciate your comments and will take them into account as we continue improving the content of our introduction audio guide.
We hope, however, that the booking process, ticket collection, and overall service provided through our website met your expectations, as making access to Carcassonne as simple and seamless as possible is one of our main priorities.
