Volknode Hosting Reviews 

I purchased a server from VolkNode on August 24–25. Until September 9, the server worked practically perfectly. The prices are reasonable, roughly around the middle of the market, and their support initially helped me quickly - my server was set up in about an hour and a half.

Everything changed on September 9. I woke up and found that my server was completely unreachable. I contacted support and asked for a reboot. After checking the server, they told me that the problem was not on my side and not on their side either, but on the side of their upstream provider. They specifically told me that most of the servers in that datacenter were affected and that it was a multi-server provider outage. They also told me that my data was safe and that I would be compensated for the downtime.

I kept waiting and contacting support for updates. On September 12, they confirmed that my server was still unreachable and admitted that four days of downtime was unacceptable. They offered three options: wait for recovery, rebuild me on another working machine, or give me a refund.

The most important issue for me is my data. I clearly told them that I would agree to a replacement only if all of my data could be transferred to the new server. I do not need a completely different empty server. They acknowledged this and said that they would not wipe or reinstall my existing server and that the data would be copied once the original machine became reachable.

On September 15, they reported 100% packet loss and no response on RDP or any of the tested ports. They also said that traffic was reaching the datacenter network and then stopping there.

On September 16, I explained that for several days I could sometimes connect through RDP in the morning, but literally a second later the internet connection would disappear and I would get disconnected again. On September 17, they said the upstream provider was investigating the VPS/node and network connectivity.

On September 19, they offered to migrate my server to another node. I immediately repeated that I would only agree if all of my data was transferred as well. Since then, I have received no further response from them. As of September 22, they have not replied for three days.

Today is September 22, meaning it has been 13 days since the outage started on September 9. My server has effectively been unusable for almost half of the period I paid for.

They have said that they can refund me, but that is not what I need. I need my data. The problem is not simply the $6 I paid - it is that I paid for a server, stored my data there, and now I have spent 13 days without proper access to either the service or my data.

At this point, I cannot recommend purchasing a server from VolkNode. I have been without proper access to my server and data for 13 days, and despite repeated promises and updates, I still have no working solution. They offered a refund, but that does not solve the main problem because I need access to my data. For now, based on my experience, I would not recommend buying a server from them.
