I wouldn't describe my experience with VoltX's solar panel and battery installation as completely smooth.

From memory, I signed the contract in early March, but I didn't hear anything further until late April. That's when things started to get interesting.

I received an email stating that, due to high demand and installation backlogs, VoltX was offering customers the option to cancel their installation in exchange for a $250 compensation payment, with the contract then being voided. I declined the offer.

The following day, I received a phone call from VoltX proposing a partial installation before the rebate deadline, but on the condition that I pay the full contract amount upfront.

I explained that I was only prepared to pay 50% upfront, with the remaining balance payable once the entire installation was completed. This led to a lengthy discussion which was escalated to a team leader/supervisor. She also insisted that I either pay in full or cancel the installation. Since I had already signed a legally binding contract, I expected the installation to proceed under the agreed terms. I wasn't particularly concerned about the completion date, as long as the contract was honoured.

After considerable back-and-forth, VoltX eventually agreed to proceed with a 50% payment upfront and store the remaining uninstalled panels in their warehouse until they could be installed.

On installation day, two separate teams arrived: one for the solar panels and another for the battery system. Unfortunately, there were further issues. The electrician had a disagreement with my wife, telling her that she was not an electrician and therefore wouldn't understand the cabling requirements. He also requested additional payment due to what he described as a "complex installation," despite the fact that I had previously provided photos and videos of the installation location and no concerns had been raised at that stage.

The solar installation team also left six panels in my backyard without informing me, which was not part of the arrangement we had agreed to. I had to contact the company and request that someone collect them, although the team eventually returned and installed the remaining panels.

Despite all the drama and frustration throughout the process, the system itself has been performing well so far and appears to be functioning as expected.

Overall rating: The installation process was poorly managed and communication could have been much better. However, the final system appears to be working well, which is the main positive takeaway from the experience.

Pathetic support. I had a new battery system installed on 24 July 26, which has never worked correctly. The batteries continuously charge and discharge through the grid, which defeats the whole purpose. Initially the support people tried to fix the problem via software updates, which had no effect. Eventually I was scheduled for a site visit on Friday 28 August but nobody turned up and I did not receive any communication about the situation at all. I also discussed a potential solution with Sales which resulted in them offering an arrangement that would have required a extra payment of more than the original installation cost!
Prior to the new installation I had a working battery system (smaller) that was uninstalled and I am now paying for electricity when I was always in credit.

Added an extra star (03 Sep 26) because I was contacted by VoltX when they said that they would look in to the situation. Although that was three days ago now.

I found their service and customer care to be exemplary. Everything was so smooth and faster than expected. Great value for money.

Just had my Neovolt Solar battery installed by VoltX and couldn't be happier. The system perfectly matches our household needs. The real-time monitoring software is fantastic—incredibly complete, intuitive, and tracks our solar production live.
The sales and pre-install process was completely remote, efficient, and took only a few hours at a great price point. The only minor downside was almost 2-month wait for the QLD installation. That said, the installers, Alex and Ben, did a neat, streamlined, and professional job. Definitely worth the wait!

I shopped around and compared a few home battery systems before deciding on the Neovolt system by Voltex, and I’m very happy with my choice.

The Voltex team did a great job installing the system. The installation team was highly experienced, professional, and completed the job efficiently. The system has been working absolutely fine, and the app is simple and easy to use.

Another big plus is Voltex’s payment arrangement. They don’t require you to pay the full amount upfront—you only pay a small $100–$200 deposit, with the balance paid after the system has been installed and you’re happy with its functionality.

Overall, I highly recommend the Voltex Neovolt system. It offers excellent value for money compared with some of the more expensive battery brands on the market. Very happy with the system and the service!
