VyStar Credit Union is the worst I’ve…

VyStar Credit Union is the worst I’ve ever dealt with. I paid my payments a year ahead for security reasons In case of losing a job or falling sick, I always pay my payments ahead while still making the monthly payments. VyStar removed all my payments that were ahead and said I was not allowed to have more than three payments ahead. So I was making double payments and It was all for nothing. I would never bank with them. I will never use them ever again. They also have extremely high interest rates.

I have tried to form a relationship

I have tried to form a relationship; I have pleaded for help and for 3 1/2 years, I was told my account was not able to be viewed online, I have wasted hours/days on the phone, to try and correct the problem; Finally after a Better Business Bureau report was filed, it was fixed. However, the system used is somehow flawed, continuing to not record functions such as set up auto payments, causing issues every month and stress for not knowing if my credit would be destroyed. It was and is a full time job. I have many interactions w/ Vystar and not one took accountability. I would not trust this bank with loans at all, they will ruin your credit if you are not on top of your loan. Pretty hard to do when refused access to your own online account. Do better, Vystar, your treatment was sad, and took a toll on my time that I cannot get back.. Stay away from this institution or you too will experience the lack of concern for your money.

Closed Our Accounts

My husband and I have been with VyStar for about 15 years. We've had two auto loans, a line of credit, a HELOC, credit cards, and our last mortgage with them, all paid in full. We've had our business accounts with them in the past and on average we had about 6 different accounts open at one time, including our retirement accounts. We've never had a late payment, and used them for all our banking and loan needs over the years. To say the least we were very loyal members. We used to love VyStar for their outstanding customer service. They made you feel valued as a member. But with the new changes they've made (and the fact they are growing too quickly in my opinion) they have become more like a bank in recent years and we've had nothing but issues. I understand growth and progress is important for a company, but they've gotten away from what matters with their members and care more about making money. One of the biggest issues we've had is with terrible customer service. The credit union stopped doing a lot of transactions in branches so now that you have to call the call center, the wait times had increased significantly. The biggest customer service issues I've had though has been with their loan officers while trying to secure a loan for a new build. These loan officers are "working from home" but never are actually home when you call during normal business hours. We were given incorrect information on multiple occasions, or they were not communicating vital information at all, which affected our loan process in a negative way. They were always forgetting to return emails and phone calls to questions we had and we were having to resend emails and texts with the same information over and over because they would forget or misplace information. There were inconsistencies with information given by different loan officers all together. They were also making us jump through ridiculous hoops with property we own out right, when no other bank or credit union we spoke to required us to do the same. In fact, the property appraiser and land surveyor had never heard of the things VyStar was requesting in their 30 years of business.

We've had them do things like fail to send out expired debit card replacements, and then not allow us to get a replacement printed inside a branch so we had to wait another 10 business days to receive a new card. We've had issues with wire transfers while trying to purchase land (being given confirmation letter that the transfer took place in a branch, but it was never actually initiated). They reported to the credit bureaus that we were a year late paying off our last mortgage when we sold our house. I had to provide documentation that they originally sent me proving we paid our mortgage off as soon as we closed on the sale of our home. We've had ongoing issues with their online banking system after they made changes. The list goes on and on. After much consideration, we were so discouraged by the constant mistakes and lack of customer service, especially trying to to secure a new construction loan with them and reporting errors that affected our credit, my husband and I decided to pull all our accounts and money and go to another credit union. Sadly, VyStar is no longer a member oriented credit union.

A banking institution I really like

I've been a member of VyStar for about 40 something years. Which means I've been with them throughout the change of their systems; which was somewhat of a rough transition. Prior to joining VyStar I had several other accounts at different banks. I was constantly moving my business due to fees, location changes and ease of access. Then came the opportunity to join VyStar and I never considered moving to another bank. I love the customer service I received at VyStar and would highly recommend them to everyone. I like the fact that I'm able to complete transactions online myself no matter what. I also like that I can call and receive service via customer service representatives who are always professional and very accurate. I really feel that they will fight to protect my money and look out for me in these troubled times we're living. I get a sense of community with Vystar. They're up to date in the services they offer and they do what they do with finesse. I feel like they are evolving with the times and located in all areas of the city. They always notify of scheduled maintenance and in instances of outages they work hard to get back up and running. In and during the system upgrade/ problems, I never thought of leaving VyStar as I feel they're always there for me.

They need to listen the first time and not waste my time!!

I called VYSTAR to have my statement sent to my email. I explained that I was not able to get my statement online. I was put on hold several times as she stated she was working on it. She said it was sent to my email and waited on the phone. I opened it and it said to go online to download. I explained AGAIN that I was not able to get it online and that's why I called!! Waste of my time!! Now, I have to go into the branch and have it printed. They need to be more respectful of their client's time.

Horible securit and policies

They where taking $5.00 a quarter out of my savings without my permission. The credit card has so much security that you can't do anything with the card. I was told that there would be a fee to do a despute and they wouldn't do anything until the $5.00 fee was paid. I didn't know that they started the $5.00 fee each quarter. If you try to explain the problem you are having they will read questions out of a book that doesn't pertain to your problem. If you try to explain they will read the same question back over and over like there a robot. I was told there would be a fee for the despute and now they say theres not. I have redeamable money on my credit card and won't be able to get that. I am closing my accounts because they are the worst.

They took my government assistance money & caused my children to have no lights

I missed a loan payment due to switching jobs, I had my new job paycheck direct deposit to vystar, they verbally made arrangements for me to come in every Friday pay $200 on my default and that would unlock my account to have access to my money, 2nd paycheck they said they didn't know who I made the arrangement with but took my whole paycheck from me. I am still currently on cash assistance and food stamps as I am still trying to get back on my feet as a single mother of 3, so them taking my money is also taking my government assistance money, there's no way they can do this. My lights were also cut off that week, Vystar did even agree to let me have gas money to make it to work another week

Another DEI fatality

After over two years of dealing with their online system, now known in banking circles as the “crash”, my complaint letters got to the thin skinned management of Vystar. They sent me a letter next day Fedex to tell me my behavior had fallen outside their member Code Of Conduct. They wrote that being a member of Vystar was a privilege and not a right. They stated this was a Final Warning letter and further instances would result in termination of my membership as well as an official Legal Trespass Warning. I wrote back and let them know their privilege of providing my financial needs had been terminated. This incident was precipitated by a screen they added to their online system that required the user to click in a box labeled “I Am Human”. They stated this prevented “bots” from gaining access to customer log in screens. It does not. A simple refresh of the browser screen or pressing F5 will bypass that screen.
Vystar’s problems have been caused by their commitment to DEI hiring practices rather than merit hiring practices.
I would advise everyone to abandon this bank.
Vystar needs to check their compass.

I have been with vystar for 3 years now…

I have been with vystar for 3 years now and now all of sudden i can't sign into my vystar account i keep getting this error message when trying to sign in and it says you do not have permission to perform the requested action so i got on the phone with vystar CSR and they all said it was a vpn issues and i don't use vpn's on my desktop or cell phone and i can't even access my account through there app and they asked me to call my isp xfinity and ask them if they use a vpn and the xfinity rep said no twice that it was a server issue on vystars backend of there server and of course vystar will not take the blame for me not being able to access my account this same issue of you do not have permission to perform the requested action happen back in 2022 and when i called vystar CSR the man confirmed that it was a server issue and now they can't even get it straight something isn't adding up when one CSR says it's a server issue back in 2022 and now they say it's a vpn issue because i was able to access my bank account last weeK and over the weekend without that error message and all of a sudden the error message shows up on monday there is something really wrong with this picture and the blame game needs to stop.

Worst corrupt company ever. Employees are useless and incompetent. I've found 2 in a year that should find a reputable company to work for. Money missing all the time and they do not care and will do nothing for you.

I would also rate this company less than a zero for its ineptness, incompetence and inefficiency. I am also surprised to see that the same incident occurred in the past and the company did nothing to prevent a reoccurrence. My 78-year-old mother bought a vehicle from a dealership that used VYSTAR for its financing more than a year ago. I took the monthly payments from my mom and had the payments debited each month from my account. This was to avoid any chance of a late payment. We received a letter stating the payments were not being received so we physically went to a VYSTAR bank to inquire about the notice. We were reassured that the account was in good standing and their records would reflect the automatic payments. I was shocked when my mom called me 4 days ago because she could not find her car. VYSTAR had repossessed her car. I immediately went to the branch located nearest to our home with proof of automatic on time payments only to be told that the payment did not include the required "CPI" insurance. My mother was then told she would need to pay > $3,000 to get her vehicle back. At no time was she ever informed of the deficit in her timely payments, even while standing in the bank on 2 previous occasions. This was also not communicated via mail. I was at my mother's side and made the decision to walk away from this incompetent institution. I can buy her another vehicle. Please be very careful with this bank. They are grossly incompetent and do not care about their customers.

If I can rate this bank below ZERO

If I can rate this bank below ZERO, i will gladly do that. Horrible service, horrible banking. My debt card expired and I notice that only in the store trying to pay for stuff. Call VyStar and order new one hoping I will get card in 7 days...after 15 days "NOTHING" I went to branch, they ask me to pay 5 bucks to issue new. (???) I was so mad I withdraw all my money and after that action they issue new card. Now, same issue with second account and second card...absolutely same same same stupid issue. "CARD WAS RETURNED BY POST OFFICE" !!! How come statements coming every month ?? This is all about 5 bucks, teasing and sucking money from customers. After 30+ years I am forced to leave this institution, and honestly management and big heads in mahogany rooms should seriously think about ratings here...VyStar was once excellent bank for all Jax people...not now. Thanks God, there is much more better options in Jacksonville !!!!!

We have been members of VyStar for over 20 years

We have been members of VyStar for over 20 years personally and have our business account with them for 2 years. Ever since they upgraded (bought their own software), it has been nothing but issues and their customer service is ridiculous! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!

Unbelieveable

If I could give a zero-star rating, I would! This company was used by the car dealership where we bought our VW. We have had the automatic payment set up the entire time and our own car insurance for two years. Our car was recently repossessed without any warning, and after we called, we were told it was because they were taking insurance coverage payment from our monthly auto payment without our knowledge! They tell us we now owe back payment for insurance and insufficient monthly car payments. Also, they say that in order to get our car back, we will have to pay the entire amount of the remaining loan or it goes to auction in one week. They made No email or phone call attempts whatsoever to try and clear this up like humans. So disgusted!

poor service

Hello,



My name is Mike, I have been doing business with Vystar since 1979. Over the years I have noticed a real decline in how you treat your customers. The big blunder with the software was a terrible mess. My family all left but I chose to stay with you until now.



I had my debit card stolen and I went in to get another card as I make all my transactions via card. I was told you have chosen to no longer provide a card at the branch and that I would have to wait for it in the mail. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? You have the ability to take care of the customer right then but choose to use snail mail? Extremely inconvenient. Hope it saves you 3 dollars. You all have 6 and 7 figure incomes that you are making off you customers money. This is the last event for me I will be moving on and considering doing more cash transactions as banking has become expensive for everyone except the banker.



I’m sure this was a financial business decision but it affects customer service, we are the customer.



Impossible business partners!
