Up until about 6 months ago. Great. No problem. As of late however, no connection between 830 am and 930am PST and same no connection between 830pm and 930pm PST. However my bill keeps getting more and more padded with fees. Tried to cancel. Somehow the chat dropped. I looked it up and Lo and Behold. T Mobile is now involved. Shocker. Out like sauerkraut.

Hidden Fees until the Bill Shows Up; Big Increases over Time

Company is now known as Astound. My gripe is with hidden fees and cost increases. In March 2024, my bill was $86 for home phone and 1 gig internet. In March 2025, it soared to $124, a 44% increase. In addition, they charge $16.93 for Internet Infrastructure Fee, $6.50 for Subscriber Line Charge, and $0.89 for Regulation Administration, the latter two for phone. All of these fees are not charged by the competition and are largely hidden until you get the first bill. No fee decrease was available for decreasing internet speed. Avoid this company and its scams.

Inflated, aggressive billing

I am typing this using data from my mobile carrier because astound disrupted my service. I was expecting to pay a past due balance of $102.00 this month when I received a new bill with new charges of $198.00!?! Over $100 of which was labeled as "One-time Charges". Within 2 weeks I received yet another bill for a total of $437.00 with a total past due amount of
$298.00. I received this bill yesterday and they cut my service today. The day before Xmas eve. I get internet. That is it. Why the eff am I paying so much for this service? I can't afford this company and it's the only provider in my area. I don't know what to do. How can they get away with this?

Terrible internet

I’ve been stuck with wave internet for years. I’ve switched to Hugh’s net. Went from 3mbs to 50 mbs
There were days I had no internet with wave all day!
Do you think they gave me discounts. Oh no they sure took my 85 bucks every month. The after hour service people were nice but were confused why my internet goes in and out. Weather didn’t matter I’d be in the middle of a 3D print and internet would cut out wasting all my filament, haven’t been able to use 3D printer at all I now can thanks to finally switching providers.
Save yourselves money and aggravation by Not using them! Can barely watch a movie without having to unplug and reset. How many times in a week did I have to do that, you ask? and I answer too many! Too many!
With Hugh’s Net I’m paying $20 less and getting so much more! 47mbs more!! Bright speed is better than wave but not as good as Hugh’s Net!

Very Bad Internet Provider

Poor service, frequent outages, crooked billing, unfortunately there is no other choice yet in my area. I dream of the day switching to a different service!

My Internet has gone out multiple times…

My Internet has gone out multiple times a day. I've called 6 times this month! When working from home and you have No Internet your Bosses Are Not Happy. You need to fix this service and Quit Upping your Prices for Internet That is Not reliable.

Excellent Customer Support

What warranted all the stars was my customer service rep. Keima was her name. We must have been on the phone together for an hour. She made several changed which I was asking for and in the final few minutes reduced my bill by over $20.00 guaranteed for 2 years. She was professional efficient and her sense of humor made the time fly by. Good customer support is just as important as the service you provide. Keima from Houston Texas gets 5 stars.

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!. I've lived in my house over 6+ years. Live alone and work, so no roommate hanging at the house all day. Suddenly I've gone over my data twice now. In 6+ years, I've never even come close, (usually around 300-350), to the allotted amount of 500GB. I called to ask why this is suddenly happening. Nothing new at my house, I use my Playstation, watch HBO, have a phone and very rarely the computer. My usage on all these devices is virtually the same over all these years and they respond, well you've used your allotment. Ok, but how is that possible when I've never come close to hitting my limit and now suddenly it's happening.
Don't bother calling because they talk around you, interrupt, and don't actually answer the questions I'm calling about. In 6+ years, I seriously can only think of 2 times that I actually got someone helpful on the line. It's absolutely ridiculous that there is not any other option other than DISH for the area that I live in!

How bad can you treat a customer

Today, after overcharging me 150.00 on the last bill which took my county Cable office forced them to refund and and give me a 10.00 per month apology fee. Well. They did i it again today to the tune of 70 bucks because my credit card was stolen, and it took two days for my card company to replace it. That eventually happened 48 hours later. In that period they tried to bill my stolen card twice and it was declined, with 10 dollar fees. I explained to that Mastercard cancelled my card due to fraud, but they are attempting to charge me 15 dollars in delinquent fees. I am going to ask the county to intervene again. Who would want to do business with these creeps. And they laugh at you when you tell them you are going to fight it.

Continues to be completely unreliable…

Continues to be completely unreliable service, and now customer service is equally bad. Whenever their service is down they insist that it is a problem with my equipment. Before they can send a technician out (which is usual 1 to 3 days later), service magically resumes. Why can't they just admit when they are having an outage? Never once has it been my modem/router. If it wasn't the only service in my neighborhood I would chose another provider.

"Award Winning" internet that cuts out constantly, and I'm not allowed to get different internet services, as somehow there is a legal loophole in the apartment building I live in that requires me to be overcharged for this crappy service.

Don’t waste your time with Wave/Astound

I didn’t think it’d be possible for there to be a new low beneath Comcast’s terrible service. I’ve been without internet for nearly a week and the technician that was supposed to arrive hasn’t shown up and our “all day” appointment (which basically means someone might show up between a real specific window of 8am to 8pm) has resulted in nothing but our appointment getting pushed to the next day. I spoke to 4 agents who know nothing and it wasn’t until I escalated to a manager named Curtis that I was told about an option to schedule a more specific 2hr window (with the soonest appointment being a week away).

I’ve wasted my time calling their “customer support”, who simply read off a script and ask you about the weather without having actual answers to help with anything. Wave/Astound clearly doesn’t understand that a lot of people work remotely and rely on at-home internet.

My wife and I have lost 3 days of work to make progress on our projects. We have many conference calls and work in banking/FinTech. We deal with sensitive info and it isn’t possible for us to just work from anywhere.

When I asked what my options are if the technician doesn’t show up again today, Curtis told me to call back. I told him the next time I call back, it’ll be to cancel this horrendous service, the reply was “ok sir”.

Save yourself the trouble, look elsewhere for broadband services. This company is a absolute joke.

This is the worst wifi service out there

We’ve been out of wifi for 5 days and we work from home. We called to get a tech out on Monday and they didn’t show up. They then said Tuesday between 8:30am-8pm. My husband and I stayed home losing a day of work to stay on standby for this ridiculously long window and they never came AGAIN. They rescheduled for the following day. Called customer support each day and was told to just wait. It’s Wednesday 5:30pm and they’re still not here. Definitely lost faith they will come. Called support and escalated to a manager and they offered to schedule a specific window for NEXT WEEK and when we mentioned the experience was so bad we are considering switching service providers and the “manager” named Curtis said “okay”. I’ve never had such awful support. Do not sign up for this service, if your network goes down, prepare to be out for 1-2 weeks and to get apathetic responses from customer support.

AVOID WAVE / ASTOUND LIKE THE PLAGUE

THE WORST PROVIDER of any service on the planet!!! I have had 2 separate experiences with Wave Broadband. Changing the name to Astound will NOT change anything!!!!! The service (both tv & internet) works less than 50% of the time. All customer service and tech support is essentially non-existent (even to cancel service when you move) since you have to spend 2-3 HOURS (let me say that again... HOURS) on hold just to talk to anyone; and they have no call-back system, so you literally have to wait on hold for HOURS!!! When you finally do get through (if you haven’t died first), the first response is, "you must have done something wrong." If there was any way to give a negative rating, I would give this company a billion negative ratings!!! Absolutely THE worst company I have ever dealt with in ANY industry EVER... I'm 75 years old!!!!!!! If you have a choice, ANY company would be better... even Comcast, and they are not good. If you consider living in a community that requires you to use Astound, go live somewhere else. The aggravation is NOT worth it!!!!!!

Absolute garbage internet

Absolute garbage internet. Our service has gone out almost weekly for the last few months for almost a day at a time. This is the worst internet service and the company will not even give an explanation for the drops in service. I can't believe someone beat Xfinity as the worst internet provider but Wave does.

This internet service provider is the worse you can get. Literally everyday, multiple times a day, I lose connection. They overcharge me and I have to always call their support. Insane lag spikes. All is to say, you do not get what you pay. The only upside to wave is that there's no contract.

They make me want to move so I can have a different service provider.

I have had problem after problem with this company with person after person. Promises made and not kept. The list is too long to include everything, but here are a few recent and ongoing examples.

I wanted to add phone service for my 102-year-old grandmother, but didn't want anybody in the house because of Covid. The sales person told me I had to go to a store (30 minutes away) to get the modem. But when I got to the store I was told they don't have equipment in store. All said, it took me 4 hours with customer service on the phone to arrange equipment be delivered just to get new phone service (and it did not require a technician to install).

Over a year ago, they told me they needed to "drop a new line" to get my service quality up to what I'm paying for. Every time I call them to schedule that I get put on hold for 45 minutes, they make promise after promise that the "right people" will be notified and somebody will call me back the next day. And I never hear from anybody. Ever. I know they have my phone number, because they recognize my account when I call them. I know they have my email, because they never miss sending me a bill. They don't even claim they've tried to reach me or schedule an appointment. But the "construction" team apparently is a black hole that never reads messages or tickets. I've called during normal hours and during off hours. I've asked to speak to supervisors and managers and their managers. Everybody makes a promise and not a single one of them has been kept.
