Avoid at all costs
Please avoid this company - don't work for them and don't use their good and services.
Avoid WiFi SPARK at all costs.
Avoid WiFi SPARK at all costs.
This company is taking advantage of some of the most vulnerable people imaginable—patients in hospital who rely on internet access to stay in touch with their loved ones. I paid for WiFi access, only to be told they had “no record” of my payment, despite me providing clear proof. Instead of resolving the issue, they simply kept the money and denied service.
This isn’t just poor customer service—it’s exploitative. People in hospital aren’t in a position to fight disputes or chase refunds. They need reliable access, not added stress and financial loss.
I have reported this to the regulator, the healthcare trust, and Trading Standards. No one should have to deal with this kind of behaviour, especially not while unwell.
Do not give your money to this unscrupulous company.
When they partner with the NHS you KNOW to expect mediocrity
Slow, buggy, amateurish coding...worse than useless,
Terrible service and support
Hospital wifi so poor that it took 7 hrs to set up my iPad! That is unless you pay £5 a day. Call centre promised to call back but of course they didn’t!!
Paid twice as text not received
Paid twice as text not received . Called customer support one of the ladies was so miserable which is a shame when dealing with ill patients . Tv volume and phone volume is on min and does not turn up and when you switch to phone your tv turns off and you have to call customer support on the sales line to get assistance , if you call customer support for help it gives you an answering machine !!! So unfair when dealing with ill patients

What a complete waste of time and money, complete rip-off
The 'rip-off' WifiSpark have obviously done a nice contract with the NHS to scam money from the most vulnerable of all people, the sick, disabled and those in most need.
The free NHS internet, while snails pace (and possibly deliberately slow to entice the unwary to pay for Premium), does actually work most of the time.
The premium WifiSpark is really fast to open a browser with all the blurb of benefits and take your money and that's it. After that, flip a coin to connect or not and of course no way of complaining as you cant contact then again without the internet. Even though it was easy enough before paying.
Having paid for the week, it worked for the first hour. Until closing the laptop and opening again later. Nothing! No Internet!. Did everything like rebooting laptop, cleaning cache even flushing the DNS. Eventually achieved another hours of use before simply giving up.
Investigation suggests one possible problem is if there are two different users in the same ward (using same modem), the one of them is blocked. Either that or after seeing others reviews, its a 'Give us your money and *off'

Awful service
Awful service, this company took my money and not only did they not provide the service I paid for, I could only contact them by voicemail or email whilst my elderly mum could not use the service. No customer service personal answering the phones .
Steer clear, useless support
We have WiFi Spark in our marina. When three of us had no Internet on two phones and a laptop, I called and their support team for help. The engineer would only state they can't see any issues. I argued the point that three of us have the same issue, the engineer wasn't interested.
I'd already spoken to the marina office who gave me WiFi Spark support number. The marina office confirmed that multiple customers had already reported WiFi issues.
I was put on hold and after 25 minutes with no update, I killed the call after 31 minutes total.
If you're a business owner considering using this company, steer well clear. Look at the reviews, it seems our marina didn't do any due diligence before contracting this useless company.
The most awful WiFi service ever.
The most awful WiFi service ever.
Better not to have it. Turning on WiFi with Spark actually makes a poor 3g signal seem great.
Any hospital IT person needs to stay well away please !!!
Buffers more then it works
Buffers more then it works. You call them they refresh it works 30 mins then starts buffering again .as a customer they should make it right instead tell me I have to pay for a new modem .I paid for the first modem that did not work paid for a second modem that is not working and now they want me to pay for a third modem and lol they still get a payment every month from my card this company is something else
Absolutely dreadful
Appalling service
This company provides both the free NHS WiFi and a 'pay for' service in the hospital I have been attending since 2020 for treatment for life threatening leukaemia. I have had to spend weeks on end in isolation, including during Covid there were no visits from family. The WiFi has been my only link to the outside world (mobile signal is very weak). The NHS WiFi is often unavailable so I have had to pay for WiFi from the same provider. I often lose connection and am frequently locked out. When it does work the speeds are pitiful. The company will not refund me and offer the same feeble excuses. I feel that WiFi Spark are making a lot of money from both the NHS and vulnerable patients - while offering a service that it not fit for purpose.
Awful
Awful, usually sub-dialup speeds, and it can't even provide those speeds without temporarily losing internet connection every half an hour or so, causing apps to stop working and/or lose data. It reconnects quickly, but it's too late.
According to the network settings, the link speed is 144Mbps, with full bars. It sure isn't supplying that speed.
Awesome service saved me where I…
Awesome service saved me where I thought there was no hope internet companies literally 50 yds away wouldn’t run copper to connect my house at the pole in entry of neighborhood builder has home wired when built no need for that with spark thanks again!!
UTTERLY UNRELIABLE
WiFi Spark is used in the hospital I work in. Unfortunately this is now the default for all staff as well. Ongoing issues with this for well over 2 years.
You have 2 options - an 'NHS WiFI' which is unsecured open network for all visitors/staff and a staff network. The NHS WiFI open network is supposed to bring up a 'click the login button' page to allow internet access.
Half the time this just doesn't work - if on a phone for example, when the screen deactivates and some time later you open up your phone again it typically shows that it's still connected - but it's not. No internet access. But also no new page 'to click the login button'. The only thing you can do is either switch to staff wifi if you have that option, or switch off the wifi of your phone, wait 10 min and try again.
I'm sure none of us have experienced this with ANY other wifi provider.
Speaking of staff Wifi access - you have to verify you're a member of staff by providing a hospital email and clicking a 'confirm' button. So far so yawn. However, again, service just drops out intermittently, sometimes IN THE MIDDLE OF USING APPS. Sadly with increased usage of apps to do everything, for example dictating, we are DEPENDENT on WiFi but there is nothing more aggravating that a service dying mid-use when you have a very busy overbooked list (and of course working in the hospital rarely comes with adequate mobile signal to just avoid using WiFi).
Sometimes it works by switching to the public wifi, sometimes not. The whole thing is a an utter shambles.
I contacted support, the response was basically "Problem? What problem?" - or "AH IT MUST BE THAT YOU'RE USIGN IPHONE AND NOT ANDROID (or subustite that for Mac vs PC or some such horseshit).
The reality is that this company seems to have seized an NHS contract, and provides a substandard service on all fronts while obviously protected from any fallout.
If there is any way to avoid, you should.
TOTALLY USELESS SHOWER OF 5H1T
The service is constantly dropping, more often than not you can connect but then it says no internet access, you pay for 4 days and get cut off after 3, their system doesn’t accept payment and blames it on your bank, strange how the card has been used 3 times previously and the bank confirms it is nothing to do with them and it’s the WiFi spark system!! Absolutely USELESS company, do not waste your time or money on this company, despite the fact I have paid for at least 4 weeks access and only been able to get online for about 40% of the time they have refused to credit my account. Personally I would shove a 40’ barge pole where the the sun doesn’t shine and tell them to swivel.
Only interested in large contracts, don't bother if you're an SME
We became a customer of WiFi spark years ago before they grew and got into the NHS contracts. Their customer service has got worse over the years and the wi-fi less effective. We decided to terminate our agreement and, despite paying for the remainder of the contract term, they wiped our WiFi server after giving our new provider some limited network information. No smooth transition like other wi-fi companies. We're too small a business for them to bother about £10,000pa contract, I've been told they are only interested in the big contracts. I doubt if they'll be bothered about this review
No money nor TV in intensive care
Payed £10.90 while in intensive care to watch football. Got only a blue screen and now told 10 days to look at my refund I submitted.
To be fair
To be fair, WiFiSPARK is better than nothing, but not much! I only use this service when I’m on holiday in Cornwall and I hesitate to estimate how much time I’ve wasted and aggravation I’ve had with it. Usually get fed up and pay my ‘phone service provider for extra data while I’m there.
