Hard to set up even for existing customers


This product is hard to set up but once installed brilliant product with no help from technical just don’t bother contacting them

If You value a quality. Don't bother with Drayton Wiser. Waste of time.

I have very bad experience with Wiser Kit 1 and two putrchased at City Plumbing. Both installed and separatec customers adn both not connecting between the hub and app. Spent most of my two days trying to connect them and speaking with Drayton custommer service. Three different custommer service advisors and one conversation unfinished because it was close to 5pm and lady wanted to go home.

I have returend one of Kit 2, to collect, from the shop, another one with "newer" serial umber, that suppose to work. I have agreed next day installation with my customer to find out that the kit i just bought and installed do not work also. The thermostat does not want to connect to the humb itself. Instalation removed and kit 2 returned to the supplier.

I have to return all of the kits now. The question is, who is going to pay for my wasted time?

Before you upgrade to V2

I upgraded a few months ago because I could... It's been a regrettable experience:
- The new hub's zigbee range is inferior to the previous generation.
- There's a phantom software 'hot water channel' on the combi models, which triggers the heating for hot water (and turns the led on the button which is supposedly removed).
- The TRVs have all had significantly more communication issues/unable to repair since moving over.
That's aside from their business practices:
- The amount of E-waste & money grabbing by forcing the second hub for the additional sensors is scummy - there's no reason why they can't work on the gen 1 hub (literally none).
- The hub plate isn't backwards compatible, so you have to get it properly swapped over.
- They talk about 'customer feedback' but didn't put an ethernet port on it.

Have had multiple tickets open for months, had the boiler firing when it shouldn't, all costing money and all they want to do is tell me to reset my devices and demand I buy another booster because their new devices RF is weaker than the previous generation).

Drayton wiser wireless room thermostat

Fitted the drayton wiser today excellent piece of kit and easy to install. The Internet hub is part of the receiver so doesnt need usb power and an ethernet port like other manufacturers. The room stat also shows humidity of the room aswell as temperature. Would highly recommend this wireless thermostat which also works through the wiser app non tour phone and with alexa.

Response time to query was quick

Response time to query was quick. My new smart plug appears to connect to the wiser hub but has no indication of how good a connection it is. I was unable to program the plug to turn on and off. As it was mainly bought for the signal booster, time will tell if the signal strength as improved.

Very unreliable.

I've had the system for several years but am considering switching back to a traditional thermostat and radiator controls. When the system works, it is great. Unfortunately, it is very unreliable. The hub frequently disconnects from the WiFi, the individual thermostats disconnect from the mesh system, the app is glitchy, and batteries need frequent replacing. I have a new internet provider and have spent hours trying to reconnect the hub, with no success. I am tech literate - it's incredibly frustrating.

Excellent service for replacement part

Perfect service from start to finish. Queried how to get hold of a replacement part for my smart thermostat, responded quickly and shipped the part free of charge. Communication and service has been excellent throughout. Suitably impressed.

A Pleasure to Deal With You😊

I had a new WiFi router put in in the summer and have not had the heating on. So the other day went to use my Wiser App to put the heating on it did not work!
Not a problem, contacted Drayton straight away and I am so not technical but they were patient, calm, supportive, helpful and extremely knowledgeable and sorted me out with ease. Thankyou Ashley and Mike😊

Poor customer service, poor quality product, poor customer outcomes

I upgraded my heating system around 18 months ago. Drayton 1-Channel Wiser Thermostat Control Kit. Within the period of 18 months I have replaced the batteries nearly 15 times AA, The thermostat has stopped working completely and the wiser customer services has said this is due to a battery leakage completely unjustified given the number of batteries I have used to keep this thermostat working. Previously I had a Honeywell thermostat which took cr2032 battery's it lasted 3 years without the need for replacement. This worked perfectly and does not require the need for constant battery changes or any form of claim in a period of 5 years I used it. WISER CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID I SHOULD BUY A NEW THERMOSTAT? Also I was considering buying the wiser radiator values but the quality of service, has strongly deterred me as I know now excuses will be made to ensure products longevity and quality will not be honoured. Thank you for not resolving please pass on my feedback as I will now begin to remove these products from my household. really dissatisfied and disappointed I hoped for more.

Our Wiser system refuses to connect.

Our Wiser system worked well with the old router. However, with a new router, it refuses to connect, despite following all the advice. We spoke to a Wiser expert, who said we should turn off the hub for a minute, but this was impossible, as it was connected to the Fischer boiler. So this is a badly designed system which is not consumer friendly at all.

A truly awful system

A truly awful system. Unfortunately I’ve invested, a considerable amount of money. But I think enough is enough and will change to something that works. System has a mind of its own, heating randomly on in the summer, thermostats that loose contact constantly. Usage info doesn’t work, completely useless customer service that tell you there is no issues. Brilliant for getting through AA batteries though, every cloud…..

Great customer service/support

I had issues with another company's central heating control (product and support) so read some reviews and found the Wiser/Drayton solution could be a good option.

The install was very easy, including setup.

Since then I've contacted support twice with issues (due to me changing WiFi suppliers, not their fault). Support has been very rapid and they kept communicating until I had the issue resolved.

Very happy with them as a company.

Terrible piece of kit

Terrible piece of kit. Change Internet provider and now won't connect to new Internet, the hub or thermostat. Tried reaching out to them with no one coming back to me.

Great product, even better customer service

Have used these product in two houses and the system itself does everything you want/expect of it. What really sets the system apart though is the customer service. The technical team (uk based) are online until 9:00pm including weekends which makes the rare issues you do suffer a genuine breeze to resolve.
