World of Water Aquatic Centres Reviews 1.040

Searching on the internet for a new filter/pump for my pond I found that World of Water had the exact item I needed, at a very competitive price. I placed my order and the pump arrived very soon afterwards. It was well packaged and a very well built machine. I had a minor query, so phoned World of Water, and my query was answered immediately by a very helpful young man. I heartily recommend World of Water.

Bought 2 outside goldfish, despite floating bodies in with them (stupid me for buying them) both fish died within 2 days. The fish I bought from the inside aquarium tanks survived.

I’ve since bought 4 of the same fish from elsewhere. ALL survived!

So wasted my money £22. I wouldn’t go there again. Anything else you can get a refund on like a jumper or tv but animals you can’t. As their policy is you have 48 hours to take the dead fish back and I work - that’s money down the drain!

Also there were 2 dead fish in an inside tank there and I pointed this out. The man said that the behaviour is normal. I know about fish. You can tell by the way the fins looked, the way it was floating and there was slime coming off it. They were dead. I also said about the dead fish outside. They weren’t interested in taking them out. Dead fish - red flag!

UPDATE.

Suddenly all my fantail goldfish started standing on their heads and were barely moving and all died a few days later. The following day - last night 19/8 my weather roaches were going mad swimming madly around the tank and the 3 stripey tropical fish things (danios) were also really whizzing around the tank - never seen this before in 30 years. Today. All dead. Every single one of my fish DEAD. 8 fish, different species. I believe the new weather roach infected all my fish and killed them. It barely moved in the last couple of weeks since purchase. They are normally quite active. At the time of purchase from World of Water, Crawley - There were floating weather roaches in the tank at the time I bought mine. He said they’d been quarantined for a week they are fine and that’s how they act. I know this type of fish as I had 2 for over 10 years. They don’t behave that way. I said to the man those 2 will be dead tomorrow. I’m SO stupid. I should never have bought a fish from that tank. That new fish probably took away the lives of 8 fish I’ve had for years and has cost me a lot of money too because I now need to restock the whole tank. My fish died in a horrible way.

What’s the point in phoning you. Are you going to replace all my fish and refund me for the 3 dead ones I bought? You know those weather roaches were ill.

I have been going to this fish shop in whitminster for years and never have I had an issue. Everyone is very knowledgeable about everything. Such a very friendly service you receive I’ve brought fish, plants and even filters from them and never have I had an issue. They can answer any questions you have about ponds/tanks and fish and nothing is too much trouble for them. Definitely a recommended going to these fish shops

Everything arrived really quickly and was very well packed. Plants seem to be getting established pretty quickly. I haven't seen the pond snails since I popped them in. Hopefully they're in there somewhere. Many thanks.

When rinsing some hornwort, I found some algae on it. Apart from this, I was happy with my order.

Ordered pond starter kit. Arrived quickly and extremely well packaged, and plants looked good and healthy. Now in the pond still looking good so only time will tell how they thrive.

pump is performing heroically and the fish are happy in their oxygenated pond!!

After building a pond I've always wanted , my partner ( woman ) went in to gloucester store and purchased a filter and pump for the pond . The helper in the store recommend them a filter and pump without asking her how many litres the pond holds which is the first question you ask . Now the filter cost £250 and the pump was about £70 so £320 in total . Now the filter is recommend that it can be used for pond which hold 7000 litres but if you have fish in the pond you can put it in ponds nomore than 3500 litres. Now my pond that has just been built holds 9000 litres .
Now we are left with a pump and filter that cost over £300 which is useless all we have is green water filter need cleaning every 3 days which is just rubbish.
Overall terrible experience, No professionals that work here . Very rude too . Go somewhere else !

We bought an Interpet aquarium 6 months ago and two days ago noticed water dripping down our book case on which the tank sits. A small leak had appeared at back of tank. Spoke with our local centre in Hailsham and did not get the response expected. We had our proof of purchase which was made on credit card as well. Felt like they hoped we couldn't do this! We were then told we had to purchase another tank for £200.00 before they would do a swap for the faulty one!! We have a guarantee in case of problems. We refused to do this but the implication was made that we would not return the faulty tank, that we were might steal it. We are good customers and they know where we live. We also have three more tanks so a lot of business from us. We managed to agree to a £50.00 deposit on which we had to promise the tank would appear back in the shop first thing next day and this was 1/2 hour before closing. Stressful evening transferring a set up tank with ecosystem just right. I have now lost some shrimp, a frog, and two gobies ( so far), so we didn't do this lightly, tried to do this slowly and carefully. The customer service was appalling and now they have lost our business, there are other, better places to go. These are animals and a duty of care should have been shown as well as looking after their customers. Really not happy and very very disappointed.

I have an inpond 1 in 5 Blagdon 6000 pump. It stopped working. I cleaned the filters and checked the impeller was functioning correctly but it wouldn't work. I phoned World of Water for advice. I spoke with Anthony. He suggested that it was most likely to be the transformer. He explained that if the pond light wasn't working as well that would be the most likely problem. I ordered a new transformer and “Bingo”, it's now working. Thank you Anthony you know your business. If anyone you know has pond issues then I recommend you speak to Anthony.
