I had a great experience on this platform as a listener. It's such a nice community. Unique Idea.

Today I went to my Listener account at 7 Cups to see I had been "unapproved" as a listener, based a bad review or complaint. I have no idea what the complaint is and I have been there over a year and had many, many good reviews. Seems like after ONE complaint I am axed. The only even I can think of is a tiring chat with an unhappy guy who simply wanted to complain, not matter what I said. In the end he called me a "nihilist" for some reason, and I said that is no way to talk to me. He then said "you can't talk to me because you're weak". I said I have to go, "good riddance" he said, adding "I am going to report you" I left and blocked him. I figured he would report me because he seemed in a wired state of mind, but that the chat would be reviewed and it would be obvious I did nothing to him. BUT..., in the morning I am gone! I tried to file a grievance but the process 100% favored the member, with me being required to list three different things I could do to improve as a listener. As if I am 100% to blame. I still have yet to see the complaint, who it was from, what was said or be given the chance to defend myself. It is like an employee at a coffee shop who has coffee thrown in his face, and then gets fired for making bad coffee. I had some people I chatted with regularly and now I am out. Useless place. I am very saddened and hurt. I did the best I could do.

A COUPLE WEEKS LATER: I believe I have a more clear idea of what happened. Basically I called a troll a troll. Told him I could help and did not have time. He complained. That is it. I have had a few experiences with being called names and trolled there, it would come with thew territory. This one time I said something and I was zapped. But to be fair, I guess I should not have said it, but I will not take my review down. I should have gotten a warning or something.

Helpful, very well designed. Although the website is better than the app so here still a lot could be done. But really, other than that nothing similar is out there.

I’ve been a member of 7 cups for 8 years. It’s a great place to get help with personal problems from money worries to heartbreak and all in between. Lovely people who show such respect for all. I highly recommend 7 cups.

It’s my absolute pleasure to be a listener, I’ve learned so much so far, including how to communicate in an empathetic and effective manner, which is an invaluable skill that I can apply in every day life. Thanks for the opportunity and looking forwards to contribute and learn more 💙

Such a wonderful site - as an Active Listener on here, the amazing resources for learning and the kind and thoughtful mentorship from the community has allowed me to really flex my empathy muscles. I am even cos dieting a future in mental health now! The platform helped you volunteer and help other people while upskilling yourself constantly, and there are so many new ways to grow and learn with the Training module in the platform. I am genuinely so grateful to have found 7 cups. It really had changed the trajectory of my life in some ways.

It was a really great experience. I would say hats off to the members who were with me all throughout this journey; they are some of the most caring people I have met!

Amazing app, really helpful. Provides space for you to vent out, and be yourself.

I have been a listener for a year and a half and have enjoyed helping others. Although it is a bit intimidating at the beginning, the training does help to get one started. I have particularly enjoyed how Active Listening has become a part of my everyday life, and how talking to so many members has changed many of my ideas about life.

Highly recommend becoming a listener. I have very limited experience on the other side of the table as a member, but many of the members I speak are very happy with the site too. So, whether you have issues you want to talk about or you want to help others with issues, 7Cups is a fantastic idea to try.

To be honest, this was one of the best things I could say that has helped many and can continue to help many. Initially, many may not fully grasp the essence of being a listener or a member. This platform is not your typical social media site; it's a place to offer social support. The identities of listeners and members remain anonymous. It's crucial to exercise caution here, as with any social platform. However, it's important to highlight this aspect. This platform serves as a space to express emotions, share feelings, and seek support for depression and stress. You can freely discuss your challenges and receive understanding. There are listeners available who are willing to lend an ear, a gesture not always easy to find elsewhere. The most beautiful part is that here you can express sadness, depression, stress, anxiety, and more honestly and without fear. Your identity remains protected, making it the best place to be genuine and accepted. It's a safe space to vent your feelings truthfully. 7cups has been a great way to help other people while doing acts of service. Lots of helpful resources and trainings as well!

A great opportunity to get support without spending any money. I've tried many different sites, and 7 cups stuck with me.

Since then, I became a listener, completed various trainings and tests, and helped others. It's a rewarding journey which I can absolutely recommend looking into.

The only negative aspects are that listeners are able to take requests after very limited training, and that some members can be difficult to deal with.

But, overall, certainly worthwhile. I'm thankful for our wonderful community <3

7Cups is a great community full of kind people who will listen. Definitely worth a visit if you ever need someone to talk to

I personally love it.. be it becoming a member or just volunteering as listener.. both has positive impact on life

I joined the app as a member sometime ago and i just wanted someone to listen. Soon i applied for being a listener and it has been a great experience. Being there for people and helping them just by listening to their vents makes me feel good about myself as a human being. And whenever i feel overwhelmed by my thoughts and feelings i share it with other listeners and i feel tons better.
