Great communication ,prompt service

Rob was the delightful and plesant young man. He did his work very efficently and well so I am very pleased with my lift. I have found that every person I have spoken to at this company to be both plesant and helpful.
I am really pleased I chose Acorn to install my lift.

This Acorn straight chairlift purchased in 2025 is is terrible.
Problems are listed below:
1.It is extremely uncomfortable. I am tall so I find the seat way to small and there is no adjustment to make the chair sit higher, or to move the backrest further back. It feels to me like it is made for small people.
2. The chair base and back are made of hard plastic, which is extremely uncomfortable. It feels like sitting on a plank. The backrest sits at a sharp 90 degrees and cuts into the lower part of my back, which I find painful.
3. It has an irritating flashing red light on the bottom section of the stair lift, which I can see from my bedroom.
4. The speed is excruciatingly slow and has a 3 second delay before even moving. (I have an older type chairlift on another section of stairs and it moves faster with no delay. It also has lots of adjustments for the height of the seat and the backrest. It also has cushions on the backrest and seat).
5. The toggles to on the arm rests are faulty. (After only 10 months).
When I spoke to Acorn about these problems, they basically told me that it is tough luck as there are no further adjustments that can be made. Basically take it or leave it. I find it hard to believe that this is its best chairlift they have after so many years of sale. I feel the design work has evolved backwards.
I was told by them to solve the problem of the hard seat by putting a cushion on the seat (at my own expense) and putting a cloth in front of the flashing light? I find this response extremely disappointing after spending $8000 on this chairlift.
I do not recommend this product.

The whole experience from initital quote to installation was excellent. Ryan who quoted and installed and Rachel Customer Setvice are so good at their jobs..we felt confident from the outset that we had chosen the right company. Thank you Acorn we love our stair lift..It's made a huge difference to our lives.

First contact: the lass who came to quote was very knowledgeable about the system, pleasant and efficient. Follow-up phone contacts were helpful and non-pressurised. Once the quote was accepted, the dates for Installation were made clear and kept.

The person installing the chair lift was here for 9 hours and worked the whole time- impressive. Unit is working very well, and the 24 hour phone line for help worked well for me recently.

I have every confidence in this company to install their stair lift.

This is my third chairlift and I cannot speak more highly about the quality and reliability of Acorn over the last 15 years .

The engineer John Adams was very helpful. He carefully explained the need to keep the track clean, so the lift will move upwards without stopping. He has now cleaned everything,

Representative explained in detail all about the chair stair lift. He was patient and did an excellent job during installation. He took away the boxes and left our home as he had found it. I love the chair lift it is stylish, silent and glides smoothly. The colour matched our existing chairs. Absolutely recommend

It is great to have stairlift,whilst abit slower than expected, it is BUMPY and very slow around the corners, it seems it nearly stalls before gaining speed.The installor Matt was great and the company was easy to deal with its just the slow and bumpy corner are abit disappointing.
