Hotel and parking was excellent value for money. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff where extremely polite and very helpful. The parking was great as we managed to get the car into the Airparks car park the night we arrived instead of the next morning which made it so much easier as we just went from the hotel straight to airport. I would most definitely recommend this hotel and parking to others

Our reservation was a shot in the dark -- and it worked out perfectly. Not only did we get a decent hotel, but an upgraded one -- at no additional charge, because the original hotel sold out their parking lot! Holiday Extras couldn't have been more helpful, more assuring, more exacting than they were. I will surely use their service again and again.

The hotel is a little gold mine and combined with the parking was a good deal! They could do with spending some of their profits on a lick of paint! Our room was tiny abd dated but it did the job, I would stay there again and take advantage of the parking. Has a nice little bar and staff were very friendly.

Not impressed with the hotel as the bedroom was too hot and we were unable to turn the temperature down. The duty manager did bring a fan which helped but really only moved the hot air around. They were unable to find an alternative room for us. The bathroom door was off it's runners and unable to be opened and closed satisfactorily. In all it was a waste of money staying at the hotel.

Our flight, to Athens, was scheduled to leave in the early morning. We were apprehensive about such an early flight as we would need to leave home during the middle of the night to get to park the car and then to Heathrow for the required check in time. We then found the Thistle Hotel Heathrow. We traveled to the hotel mid afternoon the day before our flight. The greeting from reception was friendly and professional and gave us a fast check in. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. After unwinding from our journey over a cup or two of tea, we had a leisurely dinner in the large restaurant overlooking Heathrow Airport. The service was efficient and unhurried, as we wanted it and the food was tasty and seemed to have been freshly prepared. A comfortable night's sleep followed and we ready to catch the Hoppa bus to Terminal 5 the following morning. We had pre-paid the bus and for four days car parking at the hotel, so on our return from Athens it was an easy return to the hotel to collect our car. In fact, from getting off the plane it took us just 35 minutes to clear the airport, collect our car and get on the the M25. We would be happy to stay at the Thistle Heathrow in the future.

The whole experience was excellent and will definitely use again

We arrived got checked in had a lovely meal and the staff were lovely. Room was clean and very comfortable. Left our car there for 11 nights with no problems on pick up. Everybody was extremly helpfull, would definatly stay there again if we had to go to Heathrow.

Hotel was clean and tidy and was acceptable for the short time we were there ( late arrival by road, about 21:00 and early check in 03:00)
Bit of delay getting the shuttle bus to terminal and bus did not drop off near to this so quite a hike with luggage.

Hotel ideally situated for a 6am flight, so little time lost in getting to the airport. Hotel accomodation brilliant, staff first class, airport bus on time and no waiting for outward and inward pickups. A brilliant start to the holiday, would definatley use again.

We stayed at the Ibis hotel on the airport complex, having parked at the off site car park. The car park was easy to find, the bus to transfer to the airport was on time and the hotel, though basic, was clean and comfortable. All we had to do was walk across to Departures. When we came home, the bus was waiting and we were on our way home in no time at all. I totally recommend this deal if you have an early flight.

arrived late, left for early flight in the morning, there only for 6 hours, great room, great bathroom but on my stay the electric sensor did not work, offered a room change but as needed to sleep simply used shower instead. I will go back and I will stay again, then when the tap works I will give 5* - 3* does not give justice to this hotel

Found the hotel easily , and were dealt with quickly and efficiently.
The car parking was good , and well out of the way of "prying eyes" , with electronic barriers to get in and out.
Great views of terminal 5 and the runways to plane watch whilst enjoying a drink , and were joined by friends later while we did so.
Transfers were a doddle with the shuttle coming right to the door of the hotel.
Breakfast was excellent and good value for £10.
The rooms were perfect for a quick overnight preflight stay , nothing flashy , but comfortable and quiet.

Russ Hill Hotel was excellent; great accommodation; very clean, good facilities; staff very friendly; I could not fault it. The only thing that let the whole experience down was the bus back from Gatwick airport; we had to wait in the freezing cold for an hour; the last thing you want to do when you've left your hotel at lunch time and you're cold and hungry!! It then meant we didn't get home until midnight!!

Instructions with car key followed no problem, had tea in resteraunt with family which was lovely. Just what we needed before a long day of travelling. Only thing i can say we could have a little moan about was the fact the taxi shuttle was advertised at "around £6" turned out to be £10 each way but cant really blame the hotel for that hence 5 star rating.

Used Holiday Extras in May 2012 to book 8 days' parking and an overnight stay near Gatwick. For less than £100 in total, the deal was excellent value, including a one-way transfer charge for two people to and from the north terminal (about 5 minutes each way). Also included was a full English breakfast for two at the hotel (Acorn Lodge), freshly cooked and not left under hot lights to dry out. The hotel is nothing fancy, but clean, tidy and with very courteous and helpful staff.

For a start, the signposting around Edinburgh airport is inadequate and confusing,but this isn't the fault of the parking providers. Our main complaint is the instructions told us to take the second exit off the ultimate roundabout - you can't do this because there is a no-entry sign at this exit and a great deal of construction work going on, looks pretty confusing on a dark and frosty morning, so we took the third exit, drove along a few yards and the most prominent thing above the barrier entrance to a car park was a Company name which meant nothing, no mention of it on our instructions which were somewhat anonymous, then we spotted a bus with a driver in it inside the parking area, showed him our instructions and asked if we were in the right place, his reply,'sorry, I couldn't tell you'. we then went to the Hilton hotel where the receptionist was very helpful and said he thought it was that car park, but agreed that the whole situation with pre-booked parking was confusing and said they had several queries a day. By this time it was park or miss our check-in time, so we just went back to the car-park, got a ticket which showed our number plate had been mis-read, parked and fled on a bus to the terminal. On our return our ticket in the departure machine showed we should pay a considerable sum, but on contact through the assistance button, we were told our plate had indeed been mis-read and we had been in the correct car park. This all caused a minor family row, a lot of anxiety and wasn't the best start to a holiday.

Not only was the room small the window could not be opened fully enough to disperse the fumes from the recently applied varnish to tables, chair and wardrobe. The reception person, though pleasant, didn't seem too surprised when informed either. We woke with headaches ! We would not use this hotel again.
Also the bus driver did not state he would not be going straight to the hotel as it was his lunch break. He left us at another hotel and picked us up an hour later. When confronted he lied that he had told us on entering the bus the first time. Funny that he spoke extra loudly to subsequent passengers where he was going: quilty conscience comes to mind.

The website was relatively straight forward. A little bit confused about nights of stay but cleared up after phone call to hotel. Had a little trouble finding hotel. However once there clean with really friendly staff.
