They completely ripped me off

They completely ripped me off. I paid out over $500 for two years subscription and some additional items. They then closed and sent nothing. Even worse, they came back and said they would honor all orders unless you paid using PayPal. Paypal subscribers were told they were out of luck. But they WOULD allow us to keep ordering from them and send email reminders once a month. Because I need a monthly reminder that I was scammed. Don't risk it!

Hi Laura, We understand the events that occurred earlier this year were very unexpected and we are terribly sorry if they impacted you in any manner. To provide a bit more information, Alltrue has been assumed under new ownership, but the brand our customers love isn’t going anywhere. Though exciting, this change in ownership was not anticipated. After a financially challenging spring, Alltrue filed for a voluntary bankruptcy alternative called an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (“ABC”) in April. This resulted in a complete halt in business while a 3rd party trustee assumed responsibility of the company, and was tasked with selling the assets in order to create the best possible outcome for its creditors to pay off debts owed, with the purpose of distributing the proceeds to pay off any existing debts. This past summer, Alltrue was purchased and is now in the hands of new ownership (that’s us!). It is important to note that all funds that were paid to the trustee to purchase Alltrue are being used to pay off debts owed from the previous ownership.

Due to the size of the financial liabilities from the prior business, the only customers whose previous orders the new ownership were able to assume and ship were for customers who had active membership plans which were set to renew at the time of the acquisition, and whose billing information was able to be transferred. All customers who had a membership with the previous owners received an email over the summer with the specifics of their account. This email also provided information in regards to the shutdown and how to receive any funds which may have been owed to them by the previous ownership. The liabilities incurred prior to the Assignment and subsequent acquisition are being administered by the Assignee and the Buyer does not have any role in overseeing or managing the claims process to address these liabilities. If you were one of the members unable to be retained, we recommend pursuing a chargeback with your financial institution or to pursue a claim as a creditor in the ABC. If you need a copy of this email, or a link to the general assignment, please be sure to reach out to our Community Support team.

We’re in awe of what Alltrue had been able to accomplish over the past 8 years, creating an incredible and engaged community, fostering meaningful partnerships with small businesses, artisan groups, and artists, and having made a tangible impact through fair wages, charitable giving, carbon offsets, and education. We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to give the mission a second chance, reviving Alltrue as a change-maker and trustworthy source of discovery and education for members and a supportive partner to those Alltrue seeks to empower.

An unexpected surprise turned out better than expected.

I had a misunderstanding about my subscription and wasn't expecting a box to arrive. I contacted Alltrue, and not only did they accommodate my needs, they allowed for me to custom some of the items that I would have preferred had I known I was receiving a box. They were very professional, kind and accommodating. Thanks Alltrue!

Problem Solved Easily.

I had a problem in that I didn’t understand some of the choices for the Spring box. I contacted the team and let them handle it. I couldn’t have been happier. They were friendly, helpful and exuberant. Everything was set up to my liking and I will continue to get my boxes. These are a great way to get interesting and useful new items one might never otherwise find. I think this company will prosper-at least I hope it will- because they are doing business in such an eco friendly way. This is good for the planet and for us.

well, I don’t remember the exact date. I recently had an issue with my account where I wanted to purchase an add-on but I didn’t want to use the payment method I used for my subscription box so I contacted customer support and they very quickly helped me. They basically did the work for me and made it so simple. I really appreciated the help I got. It took practically no time at all and everything worked out great. i’m not sure that the date I’ve selected is exactly right but it’s close to the time I receive support. I also wanted to say thank you for letting seasonal members. Get a chance to pick a few of their items. It would be great if we could pick them all.

Winter 2023 -Bad condition and quality

For the winter 2023 box, the purse was all ripped up on the inside. The robe had several snags. Too many product choices I already have. Quality has gone down and I wish I would’ve cancelled before it renewed.

"Alltrue support team has come through with flying colors. I received my Winter replacement box and everything in it was perfect. I am skipping my Spring box and will look at the summer to see if I will keep or skip. The outstanding customer service I received from Alltrue has rejuvenated my delight in Alltrue and I would like to re-instate my previously canceled subscription. The offer to replace my Winter box and detailed description of how to manage my future boxes were very helpful as well as appreciated. I plan to share my positive experience with my friends and hopefully they too can see that it’s all about Alltrue."

We are trying to offer as much choice as possible, and in doing so, we have also decided to offer past favorites in several of these product categories, largely based on feedback from the community, to provide a variety of options for every choice category. I should be sure to note that all six choice categories do have at least one brand new item, with most including many more.

To provide a bit more information about how we are curating boxes, Alltrue (formerly CAUSEBOX) prior to the past year or so, used to typically offer 2-4 customizable choice products in each seasonal box, with the remaining products being the same for all members (a get what you get option). Rather than reverting back to this during these shorter curation seasons since the acquisition, to allow for plenty of variety, we brought back some member favorites in order to allow customization for all six items, in case a member preferred to stock up on a past favorite item rather than simply be provided the new option. Additionally, this allows new members to self-select an item that was a past favorite item in a box.

That being said, now that we are having more and more lead time to curate the boxes (please note prior to the shutdown curations were planned 6+ months ahead of time) the plan is to continue to include plenty of new options in future boxes in each category (the ratio will continue to look different), while most likely continuing to include just a few past favorites each season as choice items based on feedback that some members love to choose these, while new members never had the option.

The items is the box were great. The seasonal selections are always good and support ethical companies. The only hitch is the shipping time is slow.

I've been a member for a couple of years and have enjoyed the benefits of membership and the interesting products offered by Causebox/Alltrue. My hope is that Alltrue has recovered from their difficulties and can continue to offer good products from reputable sources. Need more new items

I have been very pleased with Alltrue since the beginning; however, recent boxes have contained less expensive items and repeat of items already received in other ones. Quality of items has really decreased.

Yes! We have been bringing back past seasonal products :) Back by popular demand, these ‘Alltrue All-Stars’ are our community's favorites, selling out season after season. We decided to offer past favorites, largely based on feedback from the community, to provide a variety of options for every choice category. I should note, however, that we make sure every choice category includes new item(s).

To share a bit more information about how we are curating boxes, Alltrue used to typically offer 2-4 customizable choice products in each seasonal box, with the remaining products being the same for all members (a get what you get option). Rather than reverting back this and to instead allow for plenty of variety, we brought back some member favorites in order to allow customization for all six items, as some members do love stocking up on a past favorite item! While Annual members always have the ability to customize each choice category, as a Seasonal Member our team works hard to try and ensure your box includes only new items, carefully reviewing your account box history before fulfilling your box. Of course, if there is ever a mistake and a repeat item is received that you do not need again, we encourage our members to reach out to our support team (help@alltrue.com) as we will always be happy to make it right.

It truly saddens us to hear you express quality issues. If there is ever an issue or damage to an item received in your seasonal box, please always feel free to contact our Community Support Team so that we can assist you! I’m disappointed in your product…

I’m disappointed in your product selection. As a long time customer, most of the items are repeats of previous boxes.

I find the products are repeated a lot

I find the products are repeated a lot. You need more variety of products. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy receiving the box and I have been introduced to new products I didn't know about.

QUALITY PRODUCTS & QUALITY SERVICE

I love the quality of products. The customer service was outstanding and the fastest response ever when I received a broken item. I was so glad this company resumed business because I have never been disappointed by the boxes. I've tried a few subscription boxes and this is the only one I've kept. It is definitely my favorite by far.

customization issues

I went in to customize my box, and the item that I want is “sold out”. Because of this, I’d like to cancel my subscription. What is the purpose of offering customization if I can’t customize using the options you offer, because you don’t actually offer them?

Hi Alicia! We apologize for any disappointment! Each season our Product Team does their very best at predicting what products will be the most popular with our membership. Normally, they are spot on — but, from time to time, products rise to the spotlight as elected by our passionate community. As part of our commitment to limiting product waste, we do have limited inventory of the curated products in our seasonal boxes.

As the Spring Box features several wonderful choice products this season, we hope you'll be able to find another item you love in this same choice category. Of course, if there is ever a box that is simply not to your liking, we are happy to assist with the request to pause your membership to skip the Spring Box and have your membership extended one season. While we typically have plenty of inventory to cover all of our Annual Member's first selections, just to be safe, we suggest logging in and customizing your boxes as soon as you receive your customization reminders in future seasons.
