I've applied for a mail sorter job royal mail in Romford I've completed the application and uploaded the documents 7th August 2025 and I haven't heard anything from them ever since no response and no email reply from them. Candidate ID APP-08062025-14143

my son had a job acceptance...he left his job and waited and waited....nothing.....as his mother i have paid his bills and mortgage for the last 4 months.....these RATS. play lip service....theres no job at the end of it....thats for sure....hes made phone call after phone call....he had a call to say when could he start....he replied any time... but heard nothing...he phoned back . only to be told he had to reaplly as it was over 3 months he had fell off the system.....
i assume this company is based in india who work on scripts...one of the last men ? spoken to got him to keep phoning , pressing different numbers ...but getting the same person.

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR THE POST OFFICE WHEN YOU SEE THESE BIG POSTERS ADVERTISING JOBS.....ESPECIALLY THE ONE IN DARTFORD....THERE ARE NONE.

i have put a date....but this has been going on months. and cost me thousands in keeping my poor son afloat.

My experience with Angard Staffing has been nothing short of appalling.

I worked multiple full shifts for Royal Mail through Angard in August 2025, yet weeks later I am still unpaid. Despite repeatedly providing my shift details and even supplying supporting evidence (such as transport receipts), I have been met with nothing but excuses, delays, and empty reassurances.

Instead of taking responsibility and resolving the issue, the payroll team continually deflects, claiming they are “waiting for confirmation from Royal Mail.” This is absurd – a staffing agency should advocate for its workers, not leave them chasing payments for work completed three weeks ago. I’ve even asked them directly to be proactive and pick up the phone and call Royal Mail, but they continue to hide behind email chases and vague promises.

The incompetence goes further:

I was told Faster Payments would be arranged, yet nothing was received.

Their own records were incomplete and required me to resubmit detailed shift logs.

When I requested my accrued holiday pay and offboarding, that too was ignored while the payment delays dragged on.

It is shocking that Angard expects workers to show up and fulfil shifts reliably, but when it comes to paying wages, they shrug responsibility and push the problem elsewhere. I have never experienced such poor treatment, lack of urgency, and total disregard for basic payroll obligations.

No one should have to chase their wages this way. Workers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect – not left out of pocket for weeks while Angard fails to do its job.

If you value being paid on time and treated fairly, avoid Angard Staffing at all costs.

I signed up with Angard to get a temporary or permanent Royal Mail position. I successfully completed the online application, and my application was approved. I didn’t receive any communication after that. I had to ring them multiple times for updates. Each time I was told that there were jobs still available and that my CV was of interest. They seemed to be just following a script, and just kept saying that the team would call back. I explained a dozen times, that it didn’t matter if i didn’t get the job, but that I would be grateful if they could let me know. They never did call me back. I have never come across anything like it. I don’t know if they are a struggling startup company, or they just don’t care. I would never use this company again, something is very amiss.

This is by far the worst agency royal mail have used for recruitment. They constantly make mistakes with hours, pay, paperwork ect. even RM managers say how bad they are at the most simple of tasks. if u can get them on the phone they are plain rude, interupting an talkin over you. avoid at all cost. wish i had seen the reviews online before joinin them. Royal mail are great an need to get rid of these frauds.

So applied for a job with Royal Mail on behalf of angard recruitment. I was booked in for an interview, Had a interview and all went well, they advised me I have got the job pending all my checks come back clear (which they would anyway) I was informed that the potential start date would be the 18th August. It has been over a week since I got any sort of emails regarding this job so I called the company many many times earlier this week and was told many times the person dealing with it will contact me and I will get calls backs blah blah blah, I did finally receive an email telling me that they are waiting on a list to be sent to see who is starting on the 18th August… we are now on Friday and still haven’t heard anything and after chasing up many times throughout the week I have been told different things ranging from they will call me to I will receive an email which never happened… communication was great at the start and is now very shocking!! Would not recommend working for these or applying for jobs with these as you will never hear anything back from them

Absolutely terrible company. When they don't pay what you are entitled you have to enter into an email battle with them that can take weeks to resolve. I have the emails to prove this. They will lie at first and then try to shift blame to you for any errors. They will use any tactics to extend the process before you finally, after much exhaustive persisting, paying something resembling what you are owed. I recently resigned and have been told by them that I need to request a P45 before they can pay me my accrued holiday pay. According to HMRC the onus is in the employer to provide a P45 to the employee upon termination of employment. One of their many lies and delaying tactics.
Angard is a partnership between Royal Mail and Reed. Reed should be ashamed to be associated with this.

Just writing this review to counterbalance all the other ones. Yes, Angard isn’t perfect. Is their customer service terrible? Yes. Do they sometimes send ludicrously late emails for shifts and changed the start time of booked shifts? Yes. But all the talk of scams and not getting paid and some of the things said in previous reviews are not true at all. I’ve never had an issue getting paid in three years of working for Angard / Royal Mail on and off.

I got offered a job turned up and was told ‘there is no job and I don’t need your ID as there’s no job here for you. Angard just send people’ I walked out and have been put on there books for a whole year. I’m so angry as I’ve been double taxed at my new job leaving me short of cash this month when I NEVER worked here.

Their agencies are the worst.

They easy to blacklist you if you refused to attend the shift which they suddenly changed the start time a few hours earlier than the time which booked, and inform you before the new start time half an hour ago, like you are always standby around to the site.

Once you refused their nonsense arrangement, you can feel you are blacklisted as you don't got the shift anymore, or you will only get message to fill the vacancies after the normal shift was started and not enough workers, and yes, you need to rush to the site no more than half an hour.

Really bad place for work. Unreliable pay may not even pay you for shifts you have done. Management are rude and aggressive. Vans are dirty and mechanically faulty. Work load is too much.. Stay clear..

Agree with the other reviews, and heard many same stories in the DO's , this mob use every trick in the book , not to pay you correctly ,only the other week, worked 6 days to be payed £312. They will pass the buck on , and have trained gatekeepers, to never admit their in the wrong. Sure theirs a newsdesk , willing to take up this story !

Seems that it’s some kind of scam. Phone number they use is recognised as suspected scam. Emails they write is non understandable. I just applied for the role,but will withdraw today. I think is such a waste of time.

You will be hired easily but you will never get paid.

Yeah they are useless...I've applied for a Xmas job over 6 weeks ago..sent all my paperwork..I get emails saying they are waiting ....read the reviews and was shocked .but I can see why people got the hump.

Awful experience ,4 weeks in and still no pay. Miriad of convoluted reasons why, just not good enough. Inumurable emails asking for same information national insurance number ,p45 ground hog day. If you actually want to get paid dont work here.

They make you jump through hoops, answer loads of forms and upload documents, all very responsive when you first apply, then it just goes silent.
They provided options to specify a day for induction training for the following week on a first come, first served basis, even if you respond in 7 mins (which I did), they clearly do not process on a first come first served basis and just assign whomever they want ar the end of the day.
After a week of ignoring requests for updates, they just tell you that they have filled all the spots.
Just laziness on their part. I'd recommend other agencies if you actually want work.

I would've given 0 but trustpilot doesn't allow that. This is the worst agency I've worked for. Practically no contact with them - the phone line is a joke and it keeps sending you away to various e-mail addresses, some of which are no longer in use or they block you after 1st attempt to contact. If you manage not to get blocked, you wait days and weeks for any response which is usually a generic thing like' yea... we'll handle that' And you wait another weeks after which the whole cycle repeats. Every week there is a day or two that is not paid due to some mysterious errors out of their as*es. And good luck trying to resolve that, you just start the e-mail cycle losing more time. My favourite while calling them: 'if you'd like to resolve a problem with payroll, please press 1' You press 1 and hear: 'Sorry, we can't solve payroll problems over the phone. Please contact us through e-mail at blahblahblah. The cycle repeats. Or imagine if you clock out 5 minutes earlier and the hourly rate FOR THE WHOLE DAY (regardless if it's 6, 8 or 12 hours) drops by about 70p per hour. Or the fact that you get 40 minutes of unpaid break if you work not even a 6 hours shift. AVOID. Better to go beg than work for them. AVOID AT ALL COST
