I continue to have a nightmare with BT.
11 yrs ago I lived in a shared house where the broadband package was under a housemate’s name. When we went our separate ways, I called BT to have the account put in my name.
11 years later and I order a mobile phone with BT only to discover that they will not deliver it to me as the account holder name is still that of my housemate despite my having moved twice without issue and taken out two new contracts with BT.
I spent a total of 2 and a half hours on the phone with them over two days. Eventually, they said they would close the existing account and set up a new on in my name. Low and behold, I receive my first bill and it is in the name of my housemay still! Not only that, but now I am being chased by email for £500 for the cancellation of the other service. I feel that I am going to have to resolve this through the courts as I will not have their rank incompetence affect my credit rating or that of a housemate that I have not spoken to in a decade.
Just a warning for anybody wishing to…
Just a warning for anybody wishing to use WiFi calling on their homehub router, it doesn't work (on any of them). They tricked us into renewing our contract stating that the "complete wifi discs" would fix the issue. The actual problem is caused by the MTU size on BT's network.
When we tried to leave we referred them to the call from their tech team stating that if it didn't work we could leave without penalty. Miraculously the one recorded phone call (out of more than 50) that would have proved our agreement disappeared due to a "technical error"
The "executive level complaints handler" is convinced that the problem is with EE, Three, o2, Tesco Mobile and Vodaphone. Not BT.
The way they talk to you is reeks of arrogance and pompousness. They are genuinely pleased with how they've got one over on us.
Just in case anybody from BT reads this......

The worst service I’ve ever received
The worst service, speeds, customer service. Just the worst at everything! Constantly changing my bill despite guaranteeing me same bill for 18 months, I was guaranteed 67mb on my new contract. I’ve been with them over 5 years and broadband speeds never got above 10, won’t refund me and won’t let me leave without paying up the remainder of the contract. Sky offer way better service for a third of the price. BT are truly the worst company I have ever had the mispleasure to use. Now I have to wait another 6 months to wait for the contract to run out, as once you sign they won’t let you out under any circumstances even if they have never achieved the speeds they “guarantee” on your contract. Waste of space!!
Excellent Customer Service
I've just spoken to Sean, from the Glasgow call centre and the service I received was no less than outstanding. His knowledge, professionalism, care and helpfulness was remarkable, especially during these difficult times. Thank you Sean and BT for being there when I needed you, I'll definitely remain a loyal BT customer because of today.
One star is too good for this company.
Truly the worst "service" I've ever experienced. Slow connection, which is denied when you bring it up with customer service. The 'minimum speed guarantee' is a scam, they will do everything not to pay out, including pretending they have lost previous complaints. One star is too much praise.

This company is an absolute disgrace!!! My elderly parents have had nothing but problems with BT broadband for the last 2 years. They have rung up so many times about it and all they do is try and sell them more products and the problems are never fixed. The wifi doesn’t connect to any mobile phone and it constantly drops out of their computers. You can’t get it in half the rooms, yet they been charging them £70 a month for this sub par service. They rung up again before Christmas and BT conned them into another 24 month contract promising them that if they signed up they would fix the problems (which they never did). They have now asked to leave BT and they are trying to charge them over £500.00. It’s criminal taking advantage of the elderly like this!!! Why would you have to pay for a service that doesn’t work!!!!! I told my Father to go to the ombudsman but one of their telephone advisors told him that if he did not only would he have to pay the cancellation fee he would have to pay the ombudsman too. They are appalling the way they have treated my parents.

Horrible experience with BT you get missinformed from day one and then they change your contract and ask you to pay more without telling you.
Also they refuse to let you open a complaint and most of the people you speak to over the phone are racist and rude!

Been dealing with them for years. Year by year they get worse. Any time you need support, they are always busy, I am always holding wasting an hour of my life usually to be told I need to go to another department so hold again for another hour (to solve their endless problems not mine). I write this as I am currently on hold again, 52 mins. Yet to ever have a decent experience using thier services. Complete customer expereince failure. Its nothing short of embarrassing.
BT - still arrogant, still don’t care about customers.
Residentially I gave up on BT years ago. Worst company ever. Arrogant, faceless, couldn’t give a **** about customers. Now the company I do administration for has set up a new account with them and guess what....... Order incomplete, no ability to email them, went into the My BT online account we set up, can’t even progress through that as it keeps coming up saying no details. Rang them, from a mobile as they haven’t sent us the ordered equipment, shouldn’t have bothered. Same old BT. Customers? They don’t understand the word.

I would honestly give this service 0 stars if i could. I called BT around a month ago to let them know i wanted to cancel the direct debit which was ‘apparently’ then when a charge went from my card i called back and the lady on the phone was very rude. Ignoring me and randomly just hung up the phone. BT have lost their touch, im so glad i switched.

Shocking customer service, appears no method to contact BT other than by phone, which they don't answer. Taking money for product that virtually nobody is watching and making it as difficult as possible not to cancel. Once this is over, I think will spell the end of btsport after the way it has treated its customers.

Called them to simply reset my new password. I was on the line for 1 hour and 40 minutes but they couldn't reset the password!! Asked me to give them a time and they would return my call. Never called me back so I was on the line for another 2 hours. As soon as the call connected, they Hung up on me!! Such a hopeless service! I will certainly get out of this as soon as I can. Disappointed with their customer service as they have no sense of it!!

Terrible customer service. Have broadband package complete with a 'supposed' Virus program.
Waste of time every time the Windows 10 program updates, the BT Macafee Virus protect gets de- activated.
I have spent hours re-installing this 'free' virus program but keeps advising to 'BUY'
I have complained many time to BT and explained the problem over the last 4 weeks that my computers are un- protected. In frustration and as I do a lot of on-line banking and investing I have purchased a Norton Program .
Do not waste time trying to re-install BT virus protect.

STAY AWAY from these incompetent people. Our contract came to the end and we called to cancelled but was offered we could stay with them at the original price we had however we were lied to us they changed our contract without informing us . So after a call to them today ,Danial said that they cannot listen to the call from before as well we all know that is a lie . They are just covering the mess their staff has put the company in . We are now contacting OFCOM to report the breach of contact and look at sueing BT for lieing to its customers . This company can NOT be trusted

I contacted BT TV after I cancelled my current provider due to cost. BT TV was by far the best priced & the flexibility of changing my package once a month seemed good too. However, not all is what it seemed, you have to have an Ariel at an additional cost of £30 & are expected to wait in for up to 5 hrs for the engineer to arrive & fit it. They will then tell you it’s an extra cost if you have 2 boxes (even though BT know this) & then they’ll tell you the signal is too weak so you need a booster box which costs £40. Complete rip off & waste of time. Took over 30mins & 3 depts to cancel the order. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Got a problem on my line, in truth the women dealing with it was just nasty. I have no idea what was going on but serious attitude.
I don't need this so I will swap to Virgin in a few weeks, contract near its end.

For a company as big as BT, you'd think they'd be leading in terms of communication and overall effectiveness.
Probably one of the worst companies to deal with bar none.
Perfectly happy to take your money but then go completely silent on you afterwards. Calling them doesn't have any better affect since none of the cs agents seem to have any idea about anything you query about them about your order.
Just completely useless. You're MUCH better off using a smaller, more independent company. You'll actually get through to someone who actually speaks english, isn't from India and actually cares about customer relations.
