Not impressed at all
Not impressed at all.
I order from the Buildershop UK website and a few days later the delivery came in Travis Perkins bags on a Travis Perkins lorry.
The Driver was very nice and started unloading the 20mm Gravel Jumbo Bags of gravel but they were not gravel, They were Ballast Bulk Bag Jumbo Bag.
I rang as the driver took the wrong bags back.
The man on the phone was very rude talking over me and gaslighting me telling me I had ordered the wrong thing. I never saw the words Ballast Bulk Bag Jumbo Bag when I placed the order.
I searched 20mm gravel and the were 10 items on the page what i wanted was half way down the page. Everything on that page was gravel bar the lintels at the bottom of the page.
How can I over something I did not see on the website?
Thankfully the Travis Perkins driver came back the next day but, oh no. This time we had one bag of 20mm gravel and one bag of Ballast. Sadly this wasn't noticed util the driver cut the bottom of the bags and it went everywhere we didn't want it. The drive thankfully popped over and got us a bag and the other bag of 20mm gravel and the ballast was cleaned up and bagged and taken away and my other half and we had the gravel to get on with the job.
The Travis Perkins driver was very nice and could say sorry enough. The Travis Perkins driver saved the day and is the only reason I am not more annoyed at the mistakes. I would say make sure you read the emails they send to you before delivery. I ordered one thing and the email they sent did say Ballast Bulk Bag Jumbo Bag but I never saw that on the website so I don't know how it changed Gravel to Ballast. Very likely I will not be ordering with Buildershop UK again because of the very rude unhelpful gaslighting man on their phones.

Although I do find this extremely disappointing as we always strive to offer the best customer service possible, you may have actually done us a favour. It has taken 180 reviews before our first 1-star rating. It was beginning to look like we were too perfect which obviously we aren't and some people may have been thinking some of our reviews were fake!
I'll address your points as you've made:
It was myself you spoke to on the phone and I'll apologise if you think I was rude. This was certainly not my intention. What I will say though is I was having to talk over you as you kept talking over me when I was trying to explain things. At one point I actually said ''please can you let me finish speaking'' so that I could explain things without you talking over me.
Regarding what you ordered, you made a mistake and would simply not accept this. As you've pointed out in your comments:

I did say to you on the phone that we sent you 1 order confirmation email that ''Ballast Bulk Bag Jumbo Bag'' and then the delivery confirmation email along with your invoice. On the email is also states ''Ballast Bulk Bag Jumbo Bag''
These comments really do highlight the fact that is important to check what you've ordered so that there are no return costs to pay.
Having read your comments about how you searched, I now understand how you made the mistake. When you search on Google, the paid adverts come up with products but also some similar products, in this case, other bulk bags we sell. You've obviously clicked on the ballast advert and not read what you're ordering. This was clearly your fault and not ours. This is where I find your comments about me gaslighting you to be very unfair. I was simply pointing out that we as a company can only process orders for what are physically written on the orders.
This brings me to my next point about why I find the majority of what you've written to be unjust. You called up at 7.30am and told me what the issue was. As part of our strained conversation, I had explained that as the mistake was entirely yours, then there was the possiblity that Travis Perkins would charge a restocking charge as they'd had a wasted journey. I did then call them straight away and luckily they were understanding and said they wouldn't charge me to send you the 20mm Gravel you actually wanted. I then called you back straight away to tell you they couldn't come back today but would come back out to you tomorrow. If I had wanted to, I could have told you they were charging me and passed the cost on to you. Did I do this? No. Did I come back to you having the resolved the matter within 15 minutes of your initial phone call having resolved the matter? Yes. Your comments about being unhelpful are basically lies!
Regarding the mix-up with the bag the next day, this is the first I was aware. I can understand your annoyance with this and I do apologise for any inconvenience caused here. This was an unfortunate turn of events that has clearly rubbed salt in the wounds.

Cheapest price,delivered bang on time and a polite courier who didn't mind manually unloading and carrying almost half a ton of wood in sweltering temperatures around the back of my property all said i was well pleased, many thanks i would use them again and again thank-you.

Excellent service and attention from buildershop
I have ordered twice from buildershop. On both occasions I’ve had a phone call from
Mark to update me on my order, as I had ordered uncommon timber sizes which Mark explained would take a little longer to deliver.
If and when require further supplies my first port of call will be buildershop.
