We’re sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the advertising, however we would like to clarify a few points regarding your concerns.

Your advertising is live and can be found on the relevant council website and through the Planning Portal. Your business is also included within the featured roofing section, which is specifically relevant to the services you provide.

As previously explained to you, the guidance is prominently displayed on the council’s website within the Building Control section. This is where your advertising is featured and where homeowners looking for information about building work can access the guide and the businesses advertised within it.

It is also important to clarify that your advertising has only been live for a few months, rather than over half a year. We therefore feel it is far too early to conclude that the advertising has been unsuccessful based solely on the number of enquiries received so far.

The purpose of this type of advertising is to provide exposure to homeowners who are researching building work and looking for relevant local tradespeople. Roofing is the category in which your business is featured, meaning the advertising is being presented to an audience relevant to the services you provide.

We completely understand that you want enquiries to come directly from your advertising. However, the absence of an enquiry within the first few months does not mean that the advertising is not being viewed, nor does it mean that the service you purchased has not been delivered.

We are more than happy to discuss this with you directly and show you exactly where your business is featured on both the council’s Building Control guidance and the Planning Portal.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with your experience and, although you mention that communication has been good, we would really appreciate the opportunity to look into your concerns properly.

We would also like to clarify one point, as your review mentions Bright Solutions as another company alongside Building Control Communications and Bright Solutions is a completely separate business and has no connection or affiliation with Building Control Communications. We therefore wouldn’t want anyone reading the review to mistakenly believe that the companies are connected.

In relation to the advertising service itself, we completely understand that you would be disappointed if you haven't received enquiries or work from your advertising. However, our guides and websites are advertising platforms and, as with any form of advertising, we cannot guarantee that an advert will result in a specific number of enquiries or jobs. The purpose is to provide businesses with exposure to homeowners and people researching building and property-related projects.

That said, we don't want to simply respond to your review and leave it there. We would genuinely like to review your account, the advertising you have received and the publication it appears in to make sure everything has been delivered as agreed and understand exactly what has led to your concerns.

Of course we reported the review to Trustpilot, as is our right when a review contains statements that we believe may be inaccurate, misleading, or potentially defamatory. In particular, the suggestion that we are not a legitimate company is a serious allegation that does not reflect the reality of our business, the service provided, or the evidence supplied to customers.

As this review has been posted anonymously, we are unable to identify your account or determine whether this relates to a recent booking, or indeed whether you are a customer at all. We have repeatedly invited you to contact us privately with your company details so that we can investigate the concerns raised, review all correspondence, and provide a detailed response. Unfortunately, that offer has not been accepted.

Advertising campaigns of this nature are designed to provide exposure over an extended period and it is difficult to make a meaningful assessment of performance after such a short timeframe. Without knowing which publication you are referring to, we are unable to determine whether sufficient time has elapsed to fairly evaluate the advertising opportunity.

We respectfully disagree with a number of the statements made in your review. Our publications are official local authority guidance documents hosted on council websites and, where applicable, linked through the national Planning Portal. Customers are provided with publication links, supporting documentation and, where requested, contact details for council representatives who can verify our involvement.

We also dispute the suggestion that we are unresponsive. Communication is something we take extremely seriously and is regularly highlighted within our customer feedback. We maintain detailed records of correspondence and would welcome the opportunity to investigate any genuine concerns if you provide your company details.

We remain more than happy to discuss this matter directly and review your experience in full. However, without knowing who you are or which publication you are referring to, it is difficult for us to properly investigate many of the claims being made.

We’re really sorry to read your review, as it doesn’t reflect the experience we believed you were having with us.

You are currently featured within the council guide as agreed, and your business does appear as part of that publication. We’d be more than happy to show you exactly where it sits and how the guide is distributed, so you have full visibility.

We also want to address a couple of the concerns raised. You mentioned that our reviews may not be genuine — we can assure you that all of our reviews come from real clients, and we take that feedback very seriously.

In terms of communication, the last correspondence we received from you in December was very positive, where you confirmed that the artwork and guide “looks great.” In that same email, you also mentioned receiving a suspicious call unrelated to us, which had caused some confusion at the time and led you to second-guess things — something you apologised for.

Since then, we haven’t received any further communication from you raising concerns. This review is the first indication that something may be wrong, so it has come as a surprise to us.

As this is a 12-month agreement and the guide has only been live for a few months, it may be worth allowing more time to properly gauge the response and results before drawing conclusions. That said, we’re here to support you throughout and want to make sure you’re getting value.
