I had a very nice experience working with Robin Purnell of Capricorn Finance Consultancy. During this uncertain period of economy, applying loan is more challenge than ever before, not mention English is not our native language. Robin has very good communication skill, cross culture understanding, interpersonal skill, and most importantly he provides professional advice from time to time. All these makes us feel extremely nice experience working with Capricorn and sincerely appreciate the fact that he help us secure good loan offer in this challenge moment.

I have been in contact with a broker from Capricorn Consultancy that managed my mortgage. It was not easy and we had some issues since the beginning. Firstly his advice was bad and today I understand that the purpose of his advice was not in the client’s interest but only for his own interest.
Also during this difficult time in which We have extremely necessity to have his advice, he is never available, he is ignoring our emails, messages or phone calls.
I tried more than 20 time to call him and he didn't even have the courtesy to reply 1 time.

We need to chase him constantly and when he gave us a phone appointment, he never called us…

I would say: appalling service, rude behaviour, we have been left completely alone from our advisor that promised us a complete different service at the beginning of the deal… 0 stars from us and I strongly suggest to not work with them because when you pay their fees, they disappear…

We have been contacted by Mason Elliott from Capricorn Financial Consultancy for some time and when time came in to find a new mortgage, we contacted him. He has been exceptionally supportive and we are very happy by his services and the firm in general. I recommend both unreservedly! Really helpful and reliable!

I have never had such a bad experience and I believe the 5 star reviews must be fake.
I have worked with two different brokers, Georgia and Jordan Smith.
Georgia was polite, but very confusing. Jordan was not only confusing and unprofessional but also often rude. They never respond, I always had to chase them for days. They don't answer questions and never talked to me first, but rather,they communicated through my agency.
They applied for mortgages, told me they were approved, and then a few days later told me they were actually not. No explanations.
After I finally found one bank, they failed to give important information to my solicitors and to the bank causing the bank to almost not offer me the mortgage anymore a few days before completion. I can't quantify the stress they caused me, how they made the whole transaction worse. Once the transaction was completed, I did not receive any indication as to how to make the payments, the bank did not contact me and so I asked help to Jordan. Again, he never replies to my emails and when he does he sends 3 to 4 words emails with no details or explanations and I am now extremely worried that I will default the first payment because of the lack of support. Please do not use them. I understand it is easier and takes less time to just go with what the letting agency recommends but it is not worth the stress, unprofessional attitude, rudness and lack of responses and support you will go through once you start working with them.

We were recommended Capricorn Financial by an agent, the reviews are mostly good on here so we gave them a go.

The first broker we worked with submitted two mortgage applications with us

- the first one failed and they could not give us a reason why, weeks later we rang the bank who said it was due to a salary not being high enough, there was a missing zero on our application
- the second one failed because the bank did not accept mortgages on residential properties that shared an entrance with commercial properties. The broker should have known this would be the case and know which lenders to apply with

At this point we didn't hear from the broker for days, and chased to find out that he suddenly left the company.

Our replacement broker suggested applying with another lender to 'see what happens' and if they also rejected the property we'd have to find a new one. This is an untrained and unprofessional suggestion as it would have resulted in another credit check against our names, and they again should know which lenders to apply with rather than going blindly.

We told them we didn't want to go through with it, they ignored our email and tried to submit it anyway. Luckily they weren't able to submit the application due to an error in the system and then clocked that we didn't want to.

Some people have had good experiences on here but ours was terrible and I wouldn't recommend anyone risking working with this company.

We're now working with a recommended broker from a friend.

Very helpful, kept me informed, My Mortgage Consultant dealt with everything. Really happy with service , product and consultant.

We were lucky enough to work with Mason Elliott on our transaction and he was brilliant. He made a complex transaction simple and communication was outstanding, he was always available for questions or advice. Highly recommended

Unlike the other reviewers here my experience has been awful. I own several properties and simply wanted to remortgage an unencumbered flat.
After a virtual meeting, I had to follow up myself.
I was asked to complete a very detailed Fact Find, sharing sensitive personal information on a less than secure portal. Then nothing, after chasing two weeks later! I was told they were very busy, so I asked for my information to be deleted and went elsewhere.
It transpires that my information was not deleted.

Cannot thank them enough as a first time buyer! Particularly Trishul Shah. Best in class.

Dan Jenkins at Capricorn was amazing! As first time buyers we knew little about the house buying process. Not only did Dan guide us through this, he was always on the end of the phone to answer any questions, and he found us a great deal! We are extremely happy with everything Dan did for us, we were made to feel like valued customers which really meant a lot, highly recommend!

Stephen Brocklehurst is a star! we've been his happy customers for years and he has always helped us out with the best deals and advise for all mortgages we've asked. He has always been our life saver and we are super happy with Capricorn because of his excellent help.

He is extremely focussed, diligent and efficient, he always goes above and beyond, hence why we recommend him so much.

Funny enough he has helped us already 4 times and has been so efficient that we haven't even need to come to their office, all on the email and phone, so handy for us!

I have been trying to get a mortgage for the last 3 years and there were always something that went wrong never managed to have an offer ,until I was directed to Thanujan Tharukaran from Capricorn , Thanujan was absolutely perfect , professional helpful and very kind he knew exactly wich lender I needed ,we had our offer in a couple of weeks. I would like to thank him from this site and will use Thanujan services anytime, great guy

I cannot recommend Capricorn Financial enough – my situation was tricky at best with selling my current property in order to secure funds and buy a new-build with a constantly changing completion date. Thomas Aydeon and Alexandra Agafitei clearly explained the different options available to me and worked through calculations for a couple of different scenarios due to my situation. Tom and Alex were very quick at coming back to me and answering any queries, they also assisted in my communication with my solicitor when things were a little complicated. Finances can be confusing and scary, however in using Capricorn Financial I felt well informed and secure. Thank you.
