I have recommended Carbonite for my friends/relatives that I support and have had, overall, great success restoring files when things did go awry. My 'users' ( I have 40+ years in IT and can't help but use the term) have lost a few things, *almost* always program files that were omitted from the backup. From a support perspective, I would love being able to somehow run a report/list of the objects on a PC that are *not* specified to be in the backup set. That would allow me to intervene early, include those objects in the backup set, and help my users avoid any disappointment. I would also appreciate a sort of administrative account where I could manage the settings for all the folks I setup (my email address is tied to a number of different client computers). Thanks.
Actually, editing this because your review process required that I sign up for TrustPilot. That drops my experience from 4 stars to 3, as that seems a bit much to ask of your customers who are doing something *for you*.

Carbonite has worked well for backup and restoration of files. However, another big reason I bought the product is to that I can easily see my files and pictures on my Apple devices. Since Carbonite has discontinued the IOS App, this has become very difficult and cumbersome on the web. I would really recommend that the developers release a new IOS App for Carbonite that is easy to use and secure, using facial recognition technology. Thanks.

Very slow and the app is not so easy to interact in old macbook pro.

Easy to use.. backs up everything quietly in the background… haven’t had to use it to reload my files yet which is a good thing. :)

I started using Carbonite because I liked how I could access my stored docs, photos, etc. in the cloud via my smart phone. However, the Carbonite app no longer works. I am still using Carbonite in hopes that they will bring back this feature.

As stated before (since no one responded so far), you software running on MAC OS X drains lap top's battery in about 1-2hours. When Carobonite is 'uninstalled' battery runs for up to 8 hours.

This has been going on for past 2-3 years and has been validated (after many hours of testing and back/forth) by most Sr./TOP Apple technicians. PLEASE either resolve this 'hidden' issue or REFUND my recent 2 years subscription as will need to move on to another EXTERNAL type backup platform.
This is URGENT.

I had to restore my files due to needing a replacement hard-drive on my Dell desktop.
Carbonite's instructions on line were very helpful.
There were a few minor things that I didn't know about until after the restore but they seemed to resolve themselves!
Carbonite's invaluable help when you lose all your data is well worth their very fair cost.

I like the peace of mind in knowing that if something happens to my computer, my documents are backed up. My computer did in fact die and all my documents were available on Carbonite.

I developed a virus and lost everything on the computer. If Idid not have Carbonite I could never have gotten all the precious pictures and so many sites I use.
It took a long time and communication back and forth but I got it all back and I am so grateful. I will not ever be without Carbonite again.

I have a 2nd computer and had add a new subscription for that computer. I called in to clarify and noticed I did not find it under my login. The agent was very helpful in explaining the process. Also I had checked immediately after adding the new subscription and did not see the computer. The agent explained it should be there. I forgot it takes a few moments to add it to the database for my view. Very positive experience.

Carbonite is faithful with monthly reports. Best experience was in 2020 when my older PC died and I purchased a new one. I needed to download files to keep up with matters relating to our life. It worked very well.

Carbonite has been a trusted file backup for my personal and business related data for years. As my overall volume of material has increased, it's nice to know everything is backed up safely off site.

I believe this is a good service, havent had any failures or crashes to test the backup yet, so Im assuming it works well. The customer service has always been solid. Long time subscriber

Unable to access quicken backup files for quite sometime. Finally got a message while in quicken files that "Carbonite is currently unable to download files/folders with special characters ...." These files are very important to me since it has many years of my financial records. Why wasn't I notified of this situation? How long has this been going on? Why am i being charge for a service that is not being provided? I have yet been able to navigate though your web site to talk to a real person to get this corrected so I can retrieve my quicken backup files, if they are in fact backed?

Whenever I have had to contact Carbonite, the agents have always been very helpful and pleasant to deal with and have always solved my problems.

I recently downloaded many files (4 days) and was notified that they were downloaded on my new computer. I have tried to open several files and none of them will open. I spent 3 hours with a person from Microsoft to see if my software was a problem. I still cannot open any of them. I am currently looking at other options than Carbonite. Your service has saved me twice when my older computers crashed, but this time has been ridiculous!

On Christmas day we experienced two powerful power surges in succession that I thought had trashed my computer. Fortunately that was not the case and because I had my computer and files backed up through Carbonite, my tech was able to reconstruct everything and recover all my files.

I have had several situations where my Carbonite stopped backing up my files even though it was an easy fix for me. I like having Carbonite as a back-up system for all of my files. It's safe and mostly reliable.

We weren't sure that all our files were backed up. The technician was very helpful and informative.
