Never again!

Paid for a lifetime licence and Cerberus revoked licence due to not making lifetime licence anymore and now expects my ongoing support for a subscription licence. I've emailed Cerberus many times asking for answers to their breach of our contract, and no response. I've asked for my money back as they have breached our agreement when I paid for my licence. Dont trust them, it's not worth the product to subscribe for.

I paid for a "lifetime" license a lot of years ago. Now they cancelled my license. I claimed and they don´t answer me. The argument they said to other users is really surreal: "We did not think Cerberus would last that long". Wow... !!! They forgot to say that maybe it was that long due the users who bought those licenses. A great way to be grateful.
And the worst, they sistematically delete all the claiming messages about this situationon on their forum...very transparent.
"LIFETIME" means "lifetime" (or not?) So at the end YOU CANNOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I RECOMMEND DO NOT BUY ITS APP.

Bade company, operate fraud with lifetime licenses! Do Not buy any Software!

Horrable company. Would love to see a class action lawsuit against them. You buy a lifetime license and they change their policy but say people who bought it get to keep it and not pay monthly then with no warning just end it and even deleted my account. Will not respond to emails FB or Twitter posts. They even block messages to their help forum.

Do not trust a company, that takes money for a lifetime licence and honors it for 5 years, with access to the entirety of your phone's contents. Original adopters of this app paid for this company to exist and grow. They have now been dropped with not so much as a thank you or explanation. There are many alternatives that provide a far more polished experience now. It appears that even Google don't trust this company... make of that what you will.

Cerberus got an interesting defintion of a lifetime. A lifetime is 8 years. They even emailed me in 2018 and wrote "You were one of our early users and purchased a lifetime license for the Anti-theft app, we appreciate it and of course we will honor the terms of that license.".
It is hard to get any support about this issue since the company deletes all questions about it in the support forum. Not well handled at all.

What a shame that I can't give 0 stars in this review of Cerberus. I bought a lifetime subscription to the service years ago and had been using it to remotely check a secure lock up for my workplace, in a remote location. I received an email to say that my (fully paid, lifetime) account would be "expiring" soon, and when I logged into the app that turned out to be in one day. I received no response to my email on the matter. Unfortunately, within the next two weeks (over Christmas break) the lockup was broken into, and multiple items were taken from around the facility including the phone. I can no longer log into my account to track the thieves.. presumably unless I purchase a Cerberus subscription fee.. I would rather front up with the costs of replacing these items through insurance than give another cent to this scam of a company. Please do not support Cerberus with your money. There are other better products out there, offered by companies that operate with integrity, honesty, and put customers first. This isn't even the first time that they have reneged on paid subscriptions... A laughable practise from a company purporting to provide security.

Scam, if I pay for lifetime license, I except it to last lifetime, not four years! Be aware of these scammers!

If you sell the customer a lifetime(!) licence there is absolutely no excuse to terminate that licence.

Much like everyone else my "lifetime license" was canceled and the account deleted. I did receive an email out of the blue saying that my subscription was expiring and that I needed to renew but the renewal was in Euros (I am in the US). It seemed VERY suspicious, especially since I had a lifetime license. I went to investigate to see if it was a scam email and found that my account no longer existed. DO NOT give them any of your money!

i use to like this company bought lifetime Cerberus and find out its been disabled after a few years like many other people. be aware this is a shady company.

I Bought my lifetime license back in 2013, and have receipt from PayPal still.
I got a mail in december that my license is expired, and i need to go to the subscription now.

Went to the support forum and saw that i was not the only one this happened for, but since i got a mail from them back in '18 saying:

"You might know that a couple years ago we switched to subscription licenses for new accounts, which is more in line with what we provide - a comprehensive service, not just a simple app.

You were one of our early users and purchased a lifetime license for the Anti-theft app, we appreciate it and of course we will honor the terms of that license. On the other hand the Personal Safety app, and new services we are working on, will be reserved to customers with a subscription license."

I thought it was a mistake, but now it seems that they just delete the post on the support forum and try to cover it up, and looking at it it seems it's not the first time they do it.
I found an article from 4 years ago, where they did it, and now again.
This time they are saying as a reason that they never expected Cerberus to last this long?!?
Well if you sold it lifetime did you expect to shut it down after a year and run away with the money?

Lifetime license cancelled. Account deleted. Not the best way to deal with customers who invested in the software back in the days when it was a bag of garbage.

Beware of this scam. Paid licenses are revoked without warning and accounts deleted.

Echoing the reviews of many others, I paid for a lifetime license which has now been revoked without warning. It all began when I saw an article online suggesting that this was happening and considering I was relying on Cerberus to protect my device, I figured it worthwhile to check. I logged into the app to find that yes, my lifetime license had expired! At the very same moment, I got an email from Cerberus informing me that my subscription (once again, a lifetime subscription) would be expiring "soon" - little late there, aren't you pal? Honestly, I don't know how long it had been expired for when I opened the app, but I trawled through my emails and found no prior notification. How long had my device been unprotected for? What if I'd lost it?

I then contacted Cerberus Support to enquire about this and not only did I never receive a reply back, but all of a sudden my account no longer seems to exist. Despite having emails sent to my primary email address including my username, the app insists that said email address and username are not valid. Not to mention I logged in with those very same details literally days prior.

Perhaps what is most amusing is that I actually liked Cerberus as a product, and would have paid to continue using it. Alas, a product like Cerberus is given considerable control over your device and your information and a company that would revoke peoples lifetime subscriptions, ignore support emails and even delete the accounts of their paying customers - that's a company that cannot be trusted.

For the love of all that is good, do not trust this company with the kind of access their app requires OR your money!

I purchased a "lifetime" license back in July, 2013 and received an email in December, 2019 that my account would be expiring and was then deleted shortly after. This is not a lifetime license, what a load of garbage. Great job guys on deleting the accounts of those that supported you in the earlier days.
