A co-operative (co-op) is a different kind of business. Our Co-op is owned by individual members and other co-ops, not big investors, and our members get a chance to have a say in how we’re run. Profits mean members receive money, rewards and offers and a co-op can support its local community.

Co-op Food no longer benefits members.
Co-op Food was established for the benefit of members and the general public. Providing quality foods at reasonable prices. However, they are no different to any other major chain. Why do they have limited offers which you have to self select limited time offers rather than genuine discounted prices throughout the whole range which are applied when you use their store cards. This would be more true to the founders original principles and provide community value.
All I wanted to do was order some food…
All I wanted to do was order some food to collect.
45 minutes later,I’ve given up.
It repeatedly asked me to sign in,though I was already signed in.
It’s far and away the worst website and app I’ve yet dealt with in my long life.
It would be quicker for me to find a chicken on the loose and kill it than to use the co op.
(Slight exaggeration,but only slight).
My personal data was published online…
My personal data was published online as a result of the 2025 data breach. Because I am on the closed electoral register, according to the GDPR legislation, I must be paid compensation. When I phoned Coop a representative of head office, who should know better, refused to listen to me and tried to shout me down. I can't believe that an organisation like Coop would operate illegally in this way.
How is this outfit still in business?
Paid for an order that didn't turn up last January, so emailed them the same day. Received a holding email to say to bear with them as they had a backlog.
After months of false promises to sort it out, promised callbacks that never happened, sending information to "prove what I was saying", being passed about etc I finally received an email back from 'Leon' today. This bright spark of the Co-op told me that the order had been delivered and that if I had any questions I could reply to the email- it's a no reply email address, or give them a ring 'on the number above- there wasn't one.
My patience was then exhausted, so I called them and, after two incidents where I was put on hold for ages and then cut off, I spoke to someone. I explained that if they didn't sort this out today that I would go into the Co-op and help myself to goods to the value of. It was only after this that this refund was processed.
I asked for a goodwill gesture to reflect the cost of all the phone calls, the frustration & the hours of wasted time. This was refused.
Never again.
Online shocker!
I love the co op, the local store staff are great, but my experience with the delivery service and the co op help service is soo bad I'm lost for words. The app is so bad, the basket does not empty once payment has been made, making it possible to order identical orders, there is no easy way to contact the delivery team (quicker than three days response time), the drivers can't return the goods, and if you accept them, because there is no alternative, you have no recourse. The help centre when they respond, 2 days after the delivery say to get in touch if you still have an issue, but do so through a no reply email... When you phone to complain, they speak over you, say they can't help because the goods were accepted, put you on hold when you get justifiably annoyed and ultimately hang up!! To say I am annoyed is an understatement.
Heathfield Co-op is the most unfriendly place I have ever visited
When I visit the Co-op in Heathfield, I notice that the people that work there are the most unfriendly, unsmiling bunch of people that I have ever met. They are not interested in saying hello to customers, helping them find things, or even giving eye contact. They look like they just don't want to be there doing the job. I find it depressing even to go in there

had an absolute nightmare trying to but concert tickets at coop live when i went on ticket master to access tickets i would be sent to a page on the coop website where it gave me the option to become a member as i am already a member i clicked the sign in button in the top right corner signed in fine and i could access my account then when i clicked on the option for coop live it would just link me straight back to the become a member page that i started at and sign me out in the process then when i tried on ticket master again hoping it would keep me signed in and it continued to link me back to the same page. caused a massive in convince to me as i have now be unable to purchase tickets for my favourite artist and have since sold out

I shop EVERY day at my local Co op in…
I shop EVERY day at my local Co op in Great Sutton Hope Farm Road. I am writing about the excellent service of the staff there and their communications with customers. I have a blind 6 yr old great granddaughter and I am frequently asked about her. This last week for her was four days in hospital due to seizures. I was asked by the staff how she was and the following day was given a sensory gift for her. The staff in this shop go far beyond their duty to customers and it is always a pleasure for me to visit it every day. Thank you all so much.

The Dudley branch of Co-op Funeral Care…
The Dudley branch of Co-op Funeral Care gave my husband a wonderful send off. From the start of the process to the funeral itself they were wonderful.
Gail, Charlotte & Lauren plus the team couldn’t have made the whole experience any better, a massive thankyou to all concerned 🥰.
Please accept mine and my families heartfelt thanks for looking after us through the process of saying our last goodbyes to my husband and the children’s dad and grandchildren’s grandad.
We would recommend Co-op Funeral Care to anyone
The deliver times faultless
The deliver times faultless - the products questionable- flowers were almost dead - oranges rotten - trying to palm us off with stick past it best and charging more is a joke - either that or the person that pick the items in store was not a happy bunny.
Expensive low quantity
Expensive low quantity, food its impossible to buy food in there that isn't laced with poisonous seed oil. My local Branch in Crosby on College road now has aggressive Charity workers accosting you as you walk in and out. For this reason I'm boycotting it.
@CoopUK I’m extremely disappointed
@CoopUK I’m extremely disappointed. As a loyal Member, I was humiliated by a staff member at the new Worle High St store. I’ve raised a complaint (Ref: 15554539), but after weeks of waiting, I'm being ignored. Is this how you treat your members? #CustomerService #Coop"
Ethical? Do me a favour.
Apart from the fact their prices are eye watering because of their captive market strategy especially in remote areas, I am sick to death of constantly receiving my weekly offers (20p off.... Gimme a break) consisting mostly of junk and processed crap. Bounty, Tyrrell's, Toblerone, soft drinks, Walkers, Haagen Dazs.... That's just this week's.
I've contacted them TWICE - a feat in itself as they make it nigh on impossible, to complain. Why not offer fruit, veg, anything REAL? Their response twice was that my offers were based on my habits. Absolute cobblers. My first week as a member was pure junk. I then stopped scanning my card. Junk, junk, junk every week.
An ethical company? Do me a favour. As corrupt as any out there and hell bent on trying to induce type 2 in their customers whilst pillaging their wallets. I hate them with a passion.
Always missing items or sending… rude customer service
Always missing items or sending completely the wrong delivery. Refunds need to be emailed and followed up with a call to a rude Birmingham customer service team that have zero skills in grasping the frustration of a already below average service.

Twice now I have ordered wine from the co op. Twice they have got it WRONG and not just slightly wrong - I ordered 2 bottles of RED wine and they sent WHITE! If you have a shop that not just once but twice can’t tell the difference between red and white then I would strongly suggest doing what I do and shop elsewhere
So expensive
So expensive, you can see why they don't have big stores, I only shopped there because I had to.

I tried again to get longlife milk
I tried again to get longlife milk. This time in 2 branches in Cambridge. Like my local branch in Burwell of all the Long Life milk was out of stock. I had selected longlife milk from weekly offers which expires on Sunday. Few of the offers are things that I would choose to buy. I am disappoint milk was on offer when it is out of stock. I am very disappointed with Co-ops customer service on Facebook. By time the milk comes into stock again offer is likely to have expired. Being a member has very little benefit because as a single person who does not eat junk food, few if any of offers are of benefit to me. Please note I am not blaming staff at shops.
