Horrible staff treat us un fairy. Manager threatened to kick us out if we didn't go to our room for night . No drinks with dinner and the menu was severely lacking. We left one day earlier and was denied a refund or our deposit back.

Avoid at all costs!! Rooms filthy, food like school dinners. Staff did their best hence the one star. I don’t normally write reviews but felt I needed to let people know how bad this hotel is to avoid any disappointment.

What a disappointment this place was. Asked for a seaview only to get a back alley view. Paid for a family room and arrived to a double bed, rang down and was told someone would bring us up a bed, went out and arrived back with a very tired child only for there to be no bed still. No bed arrived so all 3 of us in 1 bed was great.
The bed wasn't made uo very nice and it was far from clean.

Breakfast was absolute chaos and unorganised.
Before leaving we approached front desk and advised on the issue with bed ,could not have cared less.
We definitely won't be back.

Good service until I complained about the dry chicken that nearly choked my elderly Mother! As soon as I complained the staff service turned ugly. Just an FYI I complained after I paid the bill as I’m not after no freebies just justice that the chef shouldn’t work in a restaurant kitchen again!!

My husband and I booked for 2 nights but only stayed for one as we were so disappointed with the room we were given.
Check in was ok but when we got to our room we found it was very dirty. There were stains on the carpet and down the wall, there was a thick layer of muck on the skirting boards, the door looked like it hadn’t been wiped for months. The bathroom was also in need of some attention with limescale on the shower head and holes in the blinds.
The window frame was rotten and it was very difficult to open the window. When we did, there was a huge noisy air conditioning unit which was quite annoying.
This is definitely not a 4* hotel and the pictures on the website are extremely misleading.
The response from the manager to my review on trip advisor was “a rather exaggerated write up but never the less, quick to the point on asserting one’s opinion. Not entirely accurate though I might add”.
I had included photos showing the points I had raised and am among lots of reviewers all saying the same.
My advice would be to find somewhere else to stay.

Terrible hotel. Might have been 4* 20 years ago but it certainly isn’t now. However they are charging 4* prices. Black mould on bathroom ceiling, thick cobwebs on the walls and we looked out of the window to a dirty wall and green moss! Breakfast was basic at best and food not presented in a particularly hygienic way. Provided feedback and have received no response which tells me they don’t care. Booked through Sound Travel Group who did nothing either. Avoid staying here. Would not recommend at all.

First the good.
Staff are helpful and friendly.
Room was clean.
We’ve been going to this hotel for 16 years but the changes are worse since it’s changed hands.
They now take in bus runs which means you can’t always park to unload your luggage as there isn’t enough space.Which means you have to try and park elsewhere and lug cases to the hotel.
The room we used to book has been redesignated as a family room and the price has jumped about 50%.
Even the cheapest room has shot up if you book in advance.
An express breakfast used to be £9.95
That has changed to a buffet for £15.95.
Why ?
Due to the influx of bus-runs, in the morning,you can’t always sit in the lounge as it’s full of people waiting for the bus.
For us after 16 years it’s sad and now time to move on.
A good hotel ruined by greed.

My dad's just come back today from a week away hes 88 years old the staff he said have been amazing a BIG THANKYOU TO JIM AND KATELIN and all the staff hes been very well looked after nothing to much trouble for them he loved it give it a try guys thanyou again and please thank all your brilliant helpfull staff from my dad mr derek bates

We stayed at the Crown Spa for the 3rd time in May. As usual we really enjoyed it. The only complaint was the breakfast, as it was a buffet. There were no vegetarian sausages, and everything was warm not red hot. It is very expensive and not worth the money. If we ever book to go again, we will definitely not pay for breakfast.

Myself and my wife both had spa treatments with Lacey and we both thought she was very professional and welcoming. Cannot fault any aspect of the experience / treatment. Will definitely book again.

We booked an executive room with sea view the room was really cold but I couldn’t locate a temp control in the room, so I rang reception, they advised I turn on the towel dryer in the bathroom ! unfortunately this could not be done as the power lead led to a socket with no switch, we had to sleep in bed with jumpers on as the windows are decaying and a breeze blew through the room. To be honest we have stayed here previously and enjoyed. The reason I am posting here is on the following morning when i fedback to reception there was a total lack of interest. So please take these facts into account before booking.

Not 4 stars, not family room anyway very disappointing for Christmas.

NOT 4*! How this place is running like this is unreal. The place is run down dirty and poorly maintained. The rooms have smashed sockets dirty walls dirty bathroom floor (in the corners are disgusting) NO cold water on top floor staff new this when I went down and asked for some water he said “you on top floor”. 80% of people who stay here are from retirement homes they have no clue what it’s really like. Will never ever stay again and will warn other constantly to stay away!!

I used to go every few months,service was excellent,I went 12 months ago,room was good,bar service poor and taste restaurant: booked at 8pm,08:45 I asked to speak to manager as not had a drink order taken or food order taken, I was told I was intimidating and he was going to end the convo..went to tex mex instead. Paid for private parking,only to find no spaces available as hotel had over sold bays,so got a refund and parked on a street. Such a shame as it was a great hotel, maybe be mad but trying once more for two nights this weekend,if not improved I will never be back until changes hands. Love the hotel,the area,just think the service is now very poor. I hope to be proved wrong this weekend.

The Spa is a marvellous complex, very inviting. We wanted to enjoy a drink in their superb bar area. After waiting 5 minutes to be served, having been ignored by the staff I gave up and found a lovely independent pub in the town. The staff there were more than happy to take my money.

Walking past and was tempted in by the big cake week sign outside the hotel saying cake week and coffee £5.95 how disappointing my husband seen some sultana cake and i went to order it and to choose what i would like only to be told apart from two bit of squished chocolate cake that was all they had really!!!! ordered my husbands coffee n sultans cake and i decided to leave it very disappointing i was told the sign sign should have been taken in as cake week finished the previous week wonder when the signs dotted all over the bar saying cake week were going to be taken down won’t be back very misleading

This is a review just about the spa facilities: pool, steam, sauna (hot and medium hot), ice cave and general appearance. FANTASTIC! Really enjoyed it. I spent two occasions as a visitor there and had two wonderful experiences. Thank You!

My husband booked three nights in a premium sea view room for a birthday/anniversary treat. Overall it was a total disappointment and definitely not the ‘Coastal Luxury’ advertised.
Firstly the good points - the spa and staff, special mention to Beth, Pam and Victoria. We enjoyed the spa and treatments.
We were provided with robes but only after requesting them.
Now the not so good points.
On arrival we were offered a complimentary soft drink. Off we went to the bar and I asked for a tonic water but was advised that was not included in the deal! OK could I have a lime and soda - no they didn’t have any lime. Not an auspicious start and then to sit outside where we were confronted with random salad on a table and broken crockery on the floor.
Breakfast was the biggest disappointment, felt more like a cafeteria. We were told to sit anywhere so chose a table that wasn’t piled high with used crockery. We assumed it had been laid but then discovered it was missing cups and teaspoons. We couldn’t attract anyone’s attention so found them ourselves. The salt, pepper and sugar were paper sachets in a glass on the table. Continental breakfast choice very poor and had far better in a Premier Inn. Decided against the cooked breakfast and never went back during our stay. We ate breakfast out, not ideal when it rained.
The room was very large and clean but the furniture very shoddy. The sea view was limited as one window had a blown panel and had misted up. The other window was covered in bird poo but you couldn’t get out to clean it as the door had a lock on it. There is no access to the balcony but we were aware of that before we arrived - health and safety. On the second day I was sitting by the window and a window cleaner appeared out of nowhere on the balcony - fortunately I was dressed.
Very poor quality duvet and pillows.
Rainfall shower over the bath but a very high bath panel to climb over. Anyone with mobility issues would struggle.
We requested a refund of the breakfasts we had paid for and not used and were initially told no as it was part of the room rate. My husband persisted and mentioned the room issues and we were offered a discount to our bill which we were grateful for.
We paid extra for car parking.
We won’t return but if you decide to stay I would suggest you go room only until you try breakfast and check the room before you unpack.

Defo not a star hotel let alone 4/5* as they claim it to be. Booked a family room very cramped. 2 single beds pushed together. Hotel took advance payment but very disappointing rooms. Very dated, outside poorly maintained. We were told no sea view rooms however the room we were provided with was cramped, and dusty. Cobwebs in the corner. Really disappointed
