In 2024, I paid for this service and undertook the repairs they indicated were responsible for the damp. However, these works have failed to rectify the issue.

Fantastic service. Jonathan was friendly and professional, conducting a thorough survey and making sure we understood the results fully before leaving. We are very grateful for the independent survey, providing us with evidence based results that we know we can trust.

I asked Damp Detectives, Darren to carry out a survey in my loft for any signs of damp. He was extremely helpful and came the next day. He carried out a full check and kindly removed any residual foam from my loft. He also supplied a follow up report with photos showing the levels of any damp in the loft. This gave me great peace of mind to know there were no major problem. And I was well within the accepted limit. Great Service.

What a survey should be. Comprehensive, detailed, practical. Jonathan was extremely helpful start to finish and happily spent time answering all questions.

The surveyor (Thomas) was timely, polite and an expert in his field. He located the sources of the damp with evidence/clear photographs - this was tremendously helpful

I found Tim from Damp Detectives gave a very detailed explanation with photos so I could address the issues I needed to regarding the property after his report..it has really helped take the confusion out of things about where to begin to sort out the damp and mould problems.

Thomas was really helpful. He arrived on time, gave us a really thorough review of our house, took lots of useful pictures including getting up of the roof and gutters, and lots of readings. I'm really confident in his skills and that we've got to the bottom of the issue.

Thomas did a survey at my home to determine the cause of damp in my kitchen. He was extremely thorough and inspected other rooms, including the loft, to ensure the root cause was determined. He used measuring equipment and took photographs where necessary. Some outdoor photographs required the use of a telescopic pole which was very neat!
A very pleasant person who relayed the pertinent information clearly followed by a very detailed report.

When I first spoke with scott on the phone he was very knowledgeable and very clear on the services and level of services offered .

Second time using this company, and same great service. Nigel was quick to reply to my enquiry and communication was good throughout the process. Both the survey and subsequent report were turned around quickly and the information provided was clear and easy to understand.

AVOID. If I took Bryony's advice, I could have spent over £10k on unnecessary work.

I requested a Damp Survey as I had moved into a property and found signs of water damage and wanted to find out if I had a current issue or historical.

Recommendations and findings included:
- Call a plumber: plumber declined to come out, as he felt bad charging me to fix a leak I couldnt see
- That the concrete kitchen floor was damp and I could either pay ~£5k for professionals, buy a dehumidifier for £900, or lift up the lino for a few months in a hot summer.
- the cable clips running up the building were misidentified as left over drainpipe fittings. Bryony said one of these could be causing damp on the internal wall
- the valley on the roof was identified as needing modification - one roofer came over and quoted £1600, another said it was fine
- rendering could be removed
- roofer said i could get chimneys capped, which Bryony suggested
- kitchen pipe was going into ground, which Bryony identified

I find services like this useful, as I dont know anything about buildings and maintenance of them, and I've experienced more than one cowboy builder, so I am very disappointed with this service, and suspicious of damp surveys now.

In addition to this, Bryony wasnt great at getting back to me and said she'd confirm a date, didnt, but showed up anyway. Not a massive deal, more impolite.

Scott was brilliant, booking in a damp survey at short notice, and providing hugely useful, expert advice. Would thoroughly recommend.

Jamie and Evie are life savers. I I had gone with the dpc company survey and hard sell I would still be having problems. The inspection and report were thorough and the findings have been passed to a builder and estate agent so we can sell at a fair price and/or remedy all issues identified

Tim from Damp Detectives visited my property and carried out a detailed and invaluable damp survey for me. The property had a number of damp issues in various rooms.
Tim set to work on each aspect of potential damp sources in the properties front room which was my main concern, as damp has been gradually getting worse over the previous months. Tim’s advice and solutions to rectify the problems was like a weight being lifted from me. he inspected each room of the property and found a number of damp causing issues I was unaware of , which he provided excellent and cost effective ways to proceed to resolve these problems.
I received a detailed report within 5 days with pictures. I cannot thank Tim enough and I would recommend Tim to anyone on the south coast who has a damp problem that needs resolving. Tim was punctual , friendly and knowledgeable and also called me after the survey to follow up on something that needed further investigation. The survey was the best money I have spent since I have owned the property as it gave me the answers I needed and I wish I had done this sooner.

Scott is clearly very knowledgeable and he gave me a detailed email of how to fix the source of the damp. Glad I got an expert in rather then keep assuming where the source of damp is.
