They took my money

They took my money. Deposit was not refunded. I recieved two deductions from my credit card after returning to my country. Then I had to block my credit card to stop more cuts. I called them many times and sent them emails but no answer. More than one moth passed and couldn't get my money back.

Go anywhere else

In spite of visiting this branch twice before arriving to collect my hire car, I was met with a lying female staff member. Has the car been cleaned i asked - of course she said. Focused only on taking money, she demanded £112 deposit in spite of taking their "Super plus insurance "- it will refund when you return the car she said.
Going out to see the vehicle ( parked out of sight, it was obviously filthy. It's been raining she said until I opened the door- and inside i asked? Faced with crumbs and debris. At that point the story changed to the valet place being closed, but not either of the two days it had been with them since I last saw it.
Returning the vehicle was no better. She drove it three different directions attempting to find something wrong. As I hadn't been invited to check the condition of the vehicle at collection, I'd taken photographs after just driving round one corner.
Couldn't find anything, and by now I'd been there fifteen minutes after returning the car 21 hours early she went back to check the fuel level. It wasn't totally full on collection but was when I returned it.
I offered my credit card to process my deposit refund, to then be told it should be returned in seven days or so.
I questioned why, in these days of instant bank transfers. Policy she said, before alleging the deposit hadn't actually been charged but only on hold. I opened my bank app showing the charge clearly at the point of hire and said I wanted it returned after her awful service. At that point she turned to a Turkish colleague and said " what a pain, why will he not just go away" Sadly for her i speak Turkish better than she spoke English.
I demanded that if she wanted to disparage me, do it in English and to my face.
Four days on and still no refund 😕. Clearly Garenta use this as an interest earning loan ( not bad at c30% return).
I was invited to complete an online survey and did- absolutely no response, they just don't care.

I’ve always trusted Garenta for my car…

I’ve always trusted Garenta for my car rentals in Turkey due to their reputation and reliability. However, my recent experience was extremely disappointing.
After picking up my rental car from their airport office, I realized I had forgotten my backpack at the piking office in the airport. I contacted them via WhatsApp, and they confirmed the bag was found and kept safely. Upon returning from Izmir, I collected the backpack from their staff — who were polite and helpful.
Unfortunately, when I opened the bag, I discovered that several personal items were missing. The staff at the return desk apologized and acknowledged that this was unacceptable, encouraging me to file a formal complaint.
Despite my complaint, the company responded by citing a clause in the rental agreement stating they are not responsible for lost or stolen items — even though the incident occurred inside their office, not in the vehicle.
I’m not upset about the monetary value of the items, but rather the lack of accountability and the breach of trust. I’ve rented from Garenta multiple times and expected better. I sincerely hope they review their internal procedures and take responsibility when incidents like this happen.

very bad customer service

I have booked my car at Antalya airport office and everything was a total diaster. The car broke when we were travelling. It took us almost 4 hours of calls to receive an answer, seting on the road (most of the time we just found people talking just turkish even with the english option). We had to wait for a new car almost 12 hour while we were travelling. And what is worse, they kept my cretdit cart number and they keep taking payments with my card even after my holidays have finished! I do not know what these amounts are for. The deposit has not been sent bak to my card either, almost one week later. To scape from them!

Beware of this company!

We reserved and paid a rental car months on advance for a family vacation in Turkey. However, at pickup time they refused to give us the car because we didn't have a passport, even though EU national ID card should be sufficient (according to law and their own resetvation site). Scammers!

Nightmare company

Worst experience of my life. The car i rented was bumped while parked outside the villa. When i rang customer services they explained i would need to take pictures, print them out and write on the back what had happened. I was told to do this as i could not get police report as i discovered the damage in the morning and did know who had done it snd how it happened. I did as asked and when got the airport the staff would not accept this i asked for them to ring the customer services number and speak to them as my call and details should have been logged and i did what i was told by garenta. The staff at the airport the women especially got really abusive she kept shouting on turkey and said what do you do wherw you come from. I explained that if a report was required from the police why was i told to do something else which was more difficult than driving to the local.station and getting them to make the report. Not a care in the world given by the vile staff. They billed my credit card directly even though the insurance covered it. The reason they gave was no police report so we cant claim on insurance. Well it was you guys who told me to go through the othet nightmare not me. Worst thing is they speak no english on the phones either i had to get the hotel manager to speak to them as they didnt have basic english. Utter scam company never felt this cheated by anyone. Ive used local suppliers not big companies like garenta and had no problems the local guys are more trustworthy. I had such a horrible experience i never even tried to do anything about it i was that drained from the whole thing i just gave up Disgusting staff and service

Worst company ever

Worst company I have ever worked. They sent me an invoice with someone else's name on it. No matter how many times I tried to reach them to change it it was unsuccessful. Do not think about any renting from this company even if the price is low.

Garenta / Adana (Dicle Otomotiv FZA) car rental. Do not rent it!!
We have been terribly deceived by Garenta / Adana (Dicle Otomotiv FZA). Since August 22, 2023, we have been trying to get our money back. What have they done?

This is my first review (explanation of the situation on all review platforms):

On July 22, 2023, I rented a car from the Garenta branch at Adana Airport. I paid €893.80 (25,900.50 TL) in cash to Mr. B. Ö, the sales advisor (Diclefza Fza Otomotiv San. Ve Tic. A.Ş.). However, upon returning from my vacation, I discovered that on July 22, 2023, €893.80 had been charged to my credit card. Despite email and WhatsApp correspondence with Garenta and Mr. B. Ö, we have received no response to our request for a refund. I kindly request you to process my refund request, which also includes the use of security cameras at the airport (for which I will contact the relevant authorities). Furthermore, we still have not received a refund, even though we confirmed by email immediately after payment that we had paid 25,900.50 TL and sent this confirmation to you. Your customer service did not pay attention to the matter and closed the case by emailing that there was no problem! We objected to this email. We received no response to this objection:

Dear responsible party, I object. As I have previously written, I paid €893.80 in cash to the staff at the entrance of your office, which corresponds to 25,900.50 TL. On the same day, this amount was charged to our credit card. I have already sent you a copy of the credit card statement, but I will send it again. Additionally, there is an email confirmation that we paid in cash. As you know, there are security cameras everywhere in the domestic terminals, and we can check there as well. This matter is not closed for us. We paid in cash and €893.80 was charged to our credit card on the same day. I kindly request the overcharged €893.80 to be refunded to us today. Best regards,
Still no response.

Of course, they did not respond to this. Today, we finally received a response requesting evidence. What it turns out is that we had become victims of Carjet in the middle of the night. Carjet had not updated the information to Garenta, which is open until 1:00 Turkish time. We landed at 1:45, and Carjet should have assigned us to another car rental company. (That is another story.)

On the fateful day, we spent a day in a hotel in Adana and waited for the Garenta branch to open in the morning. When the branch opened, Mr. B. Ö. told us the following: "When you go to the Netherlands, you will have to deal with Carjet yourself. At this moment, we can't do anything for you." After arriving in the Netherlands, my husband, Mr. Remzi, contacted them by phone. Mr. Remzi told us that they did not accept cash, but this is not true; for the first reservation through Carjet/Garenta, we also had to pay the car rental amount in cash. It was explicitly stated in the order confirmation that we had to pay in cash. So we had also paid in cash for the new reservation. Apparently, that is the procedure at Garenta.

The continuation of the story: Mr. B. Ö. then told us that we needed to rent a new car. We agreed and asked for a receipt as proof of payment. However, Mr. B. Ö. said, "I will send you an email with the details of your payment," and immediately sent an email. Due to exhaustion, we believed the contents of the email without reading it. This was clearly a mistake.

However, we had never thought that a big company like Garenta, especially at a domestic terminal at Adana Airport, would deceive us. When we read the contents of the email after our vacation (which only said "paid" but didn't specify how it was paid), and saw that an amount had been charged to our credit card, we were in shock. This was an organized form of fraud. Do not rent from this company; they are scammers. We cannot get our €893.80 back to this day. You have been warned!!
