Spontaneous London by Night tour

My family and I spontaneously booked the night tour as we’ve been to London before but still wanted to enjoy the popular sites. Mathew was so knowledgeable, funny, and kind! Would highly recommend the London by Night Tour for a relaxed and enjoyable tour around the city, especially as you don’t have to worry about getting off and on. The stop was a little tricky to find but once we were there the process of checking tickets/getting on board was smooth.

My experience with Golden Tours was completely unacceptable and has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

The sales agent, Sohanur Rahman, appeared more interested in making a sale than understanding my travel plans. I was clearly informed that the tickets would remain valid for flexible use, but instead the attractions were booked according to the agent's convenience without my knowledge or consent. This resulted in my family arriving at the Tower of London only to be told that our tickets had already expired.

Although the supervisor, Akshay, stepped in and helped us gain entry to the Tower of London, the situation became even more frustrating when Sohanur Rahman called while we were already inside the attraction and insisted that we leave immediately to visit Madame Tussauds. Expecting customers to abandon an attraction because of your company's booking mistake is completely unreasonable and demonstrates a shocking lack of professionalism and customer care.

Because I had an early morning flight the following day, the incorrectly booked Madame Tussauds tickets became completely unusable. My parents missed out on an experience that I had specifically planned for them, and our holiday was negatively affected because of your staff's negligence.

The only positive part of this experience was the assistance provided by Supervisor Akshay, who tried to resolve a situation that should never have occurred in the first place. Unfortunately, his efforts cannot undo the inconvenience, wasted time, stress, and disappointment caused by the incorrect booking and poor handling of the issue.

I would not recommend Golden Tours to anyone based on this experience. Customers deserve accurate information, competent booking services, and staff who take responsibility for their mistakes instead of expecting customers to change their plans to accommodate them. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in your company.

It was a lovely tour

It was a lovely tour, the young ladies who introduced the event and served us were great, polite and attentive. As it was extremely hot we were all given hand fans and also a lovely complimentary hot drinks cup. The food was lovely and fresh. The guide to what we were seeing was great . Booking was easy and directions great. With good communication leading up to the trip.

Great sights, great guide (Stefan)!

Our guide (Stefan) is clearly very passionate! He made jokes and gave fun facts/pointed out interesting sights while also allowing plenty of time to relax or sleep on the way to each place.

Enough time to explore/take pictures once there; well organized and clear communication about when to meet back. Comfortable ride with nice views.

The Royal London Walking Tour

We went on the Royal London Walking Tour, as part of a hop-on/hop-off package, with Jim VII and had an absolutely amazing time! Jim was a wealth of knowledge while keeping the tour fun and light.

Canned commentary, will say anything for a ticket sale!

The commentary was canned and intermittent at best, and badly synced to the landmarks. Some I didn't see at all, like the McLaren car, which is apparently a major London landmark. No interaction from the driver at all. The music in between the commentary was like the music you get while waiting on hold for a government service or bank. And I was on that bus for over 3 hours!

I was advised the entire route would take 3 hours, and despite specifically asking and telling the ticket seller where I wanted to be and when, nothing was mentioned to me about any delays. In fact I was reassured that I could be there early, and told that if I wanted to get off at one stop that the next bus would be 20 minutes away and I could take a quick look around and still get there in time.

I got on a very hot, and apparently a very busy day on the road. My water ran out after the first hour. After 3 hours they stopped partially along the route, turned off the bus and told everyone that they were changing drivers, AND waiting 10 minutes for the next bus so that those passengers could swap to our bus! I left and caught a black cab. At that stage I was an hour late and by the initial calculations I would have been an hour early.

Avoid this ‘no information’ bus tour!

Booked Windsor city tour bus on impulse and regretted it. Bus followed prescribed route but the recorded commentary was all about Windsor Castle - which we had visited in the morning - no mention of any of the sites we passed. Considering the history and importance of Windsor, there are many buildings and locations of with stories of interest, but nothing mentioned, only a passing reference to Eton and then more inane music. Of the little commentary there was, it was often running late or on one occasion repeated itself three times.
Save your time and money and avoid.

Amazing yesterday I travelled to Warner…

Amazing yesterday I travelled to Warner Bros Harry Potter studio tours via Golden tours tickets. Very easy to pick up a bus from Victoria station and take you directly there. Staff are exceptionally helpful, jolly and love what they do. Upon Warner Bros Studios all staff were clear and very helpful they went above and beyond their customer service. Along the way I felt they checked on you to see if you were enjoying yourself, the experience was amazing and very easy to pick up the bus at the right time and go back. I highly recommend and great service for the price. I would definitely do this again. Buses have air conditioning and comfortable and clean. Easy to book and great fun.

Reserve con antelación el Golden Pass…

Reserve con antelación el Golden Pass para un grupo de 3 personas. En el bus a la guía le molestaba que se tomen fotos o se mire el móvil cuando ella hablaba. Nos bajamos en una parada porque el conductor nos dijo que hasta allí llegaba, y que tomemos la línea azul, la cual esperamos por 1 hora, cuando vino una nos dijo que no podía llevarnos, que tomemos otra, lo hicimos, la conductora en un principio nos dijo que iba hasta allí, luego estuvo discutiendo con su jefe por teléfono y finalmente nos dejó lejos de nuestra parada, todo esto de una manera no muy amable. Bueno, dijimos, una mala experiencia, pero luego no pudimos hacer las atracciones por las que pagamos, un tema con su sistema, no funcionaba el código, todo un via cruxis para tratar de solucionarlo, nada de nada, la responsabilidad de ellos pero no la asumieron, para resumir, van a tratar de solucionar en 10 días hábiles, ya no estaremos por aca, ahora a ver si consigo que me reembolsen, aunque no hay forma de devolverme el dia perdido de vacaciones, falta de voluntad creo porque yo presenté el recibo de pago y el código de reserva, no es culpa mía que tengan un problema de sistema , podrían perfectamente haber generado otro código. Además desde aca se puede comprar todo, algunas cosas incluso mas baratas, y no hay filas ni nada.

We had a great day with Summit Ally Pally

We had a great day with Summit Ally Pally.
Our guide, Edward, was friendly and knowledgable. He was clearly skilled in the safety aspects of the day, which put us at ease, and was also cheerful and pointed out a huge amount we could see during the tour. We spent a good amount of time on the viewing platform, which was so worth the short and not-too-difficult climb. My partner and I went for our anniversary, and we would totally recommend it for a good day out.

Find another way to get to WB Harry Potter Studio London

Used Golden Tours Bus to go to Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio London. It was a waste of money. It took WAY too long to get to the location and cost tons. It would be cheaper (and faster) to Uber back and forth. The worst bit is that they only allow you 3.5 hrs in the Studio -- which isn't nearly enough time to see everything. So disappointing.

Easy to book with concession

Easy to book with concession. Great to experience London Tower Bridge from the glass floor. Watching the bascules opening to let boats pass was very exciting especially with the sound of the children's excitement. We also watched it from the river bank on its return journey. Great view from both aspects.Loved the Bella trail too and the activities available for children.

Tour price that I paid: HKD2,869.80 for 2 persons (approx GBP286) , i.e. around GBP143 per person

Additional fee induced - Taxi from Stonehenge to Oxford : GBP170

Tell you more about our experience:

We, two of us, joined a guided coach tour to Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Oxford. The coach left the meeting point around 8:10am, about 10 minutes behind the scheduled departure time.

Upon arrival at Stonehenge coach car park, we were guided to toilets then to the visitor centre for free shuttle to Stonehenge. We were told to return the coach at 11:20am, to catch the coach departing at 11:25am.

Unfortunately, we were only dropped off at the visitor centre at 11:20am returning from Stonehenge as there was a long queue waiting for the shuttle back. We rushed to the car park for the coach. Regrettably, we went to the private car park as we were not familiar to the place during our first visit there. We had not been given any advice, guidance or directions for the way from visitor centre back to the coach car park when the guide dismissed the party at the tolilets upon arrival. Even it’s only 2 minutes walk from toilets to the car park for coach, the tour guide Amenda hasn’t reminded us that there is 2 car parks in Stonehenge.


When we realized we were in the wrong location, we hurried to find the coach parking area. By the time we arrived, we saw the coach pulling away—it was approximately 11:27 am. We immediately ran after it and shouted for the driver to stop. As I had taken a photo earlier, I recognized the coach by its license plate number. However, the driver did not respond. I believe this was because the tour guide, Amanda, had instructed the driver to ignore us and proceed without stopping.


We called the emergency hotline immediately and were only able to speak to someone at 11:53am.


Hopelessly, we were advised during the conversation with the hotline staffs from Golden Tour:

- You were late. Meeting time was *** 11:25am ***. Coach was scheduled to leave at *** 11:30am ***. (different from what the guide told us)

- The guide had reached out to you (fact: we were not contacted by anyone)

- The coach will not be coming back.

- You need to make your own arrangement/transport for rest of the day

- You can call Uber.

- We do not have information of any transport company for you.



As we had left some personal belongings on the tour bus and had already paid for admission to Christ Church College in Oxford (entrance ticket fess are not included in the tour!), we needed to return and rejoin the tour. As this was my first visit to the UK and I was unfamiliar with the area, I sought assistance from the Stonehenge Visitor Centre. They helped arrange a taxi through a local company, allowing us to rejoin the tour in Oxford. This resulted in an additional expense of GBP 170 for the taxi fare. Due to the irresponsibility of the ground operator, Golden Tours, and the tour guide, Amanda, we lost the opportunity to visit Windsor Castle and were forced to bear this unexpected cost. Furthermore, my friend and I endured an extremely stressful two-hour experience, as we received absolutely no assistance from both Golden Tours and Trip.com customer service.

It is difficult to imagine how we could have left Stonehenge and returned to London if we had not been able to speak English. This concern is particularly significant, as we had originally booked a Chinese-speaking guided tour, yet Golden Tours informed us via WhatsApp just one day in advance that such a guide would not be available. Furthermore, what would have happened if we had not had access to a smartphone, internet connection, sufficient cash, or a contactless credit card?

Absolutely unacceptable !! Would you choose a tour company not considering your safety as their priority ?? I would have chosen a zero star for our experience with Golden Tours if there was an option (but, the system in TrustPilot is not allowed). We were shocked that our group tour drove off without us !!

Following a review of our GPS records, we can confirm that the coach departed Stonehenge at 11:31 AM, not 11:27 AM as stated in your review. The scheduled meeting time was 11:20 AM, with departure planned for 11:25 AM; therefore, the coach remained at the meeting point for an additional six minutes beyond the scheduled departure time..

You mention that you were unable to locate the coach parking area. However, the designated departure point was the same location where the coach originally dropped off the group, and Stonehenge provides clear signage directing visitors to the coach parking area. All other passengers returned to the coach at the designated meeting point without issue.

Meeting instructions and return times were provided before guests were given free time. In addition, both our operations team attempted to contact you using the details provided with the booking; however, we were unable to reach you by phone or WhatsApp at that time. As you were not present at the designated meeting point, the coach could not be delayed any further without impacting the experience of the other guests on board. As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, the tour cannot wait for late arrivals.

While we regret the inconvenience and stress this situation caused, our investigation found that the tour operated in accordance with the scheduled itinerary and established procedures.

We appreciate your feedback and will continue to review our processes to ensure clear guidance is provided to all guests throughout their tour experience.

I booked a half day tour w Golden Tours…

I booked a half day tour w Golden Tours to Stonehenge. The driver was very professional and drove safely and the lunch was descent (I paid ex for). The seats, USC ports were broken and the backed up toilet was a nightmare. All of which I’d like to forget. Stonehenge was great!
