I was able to find what I was looking for and Claire was really helpful with her advice. There was a wider choice of items than I expected from an Express store and I also found some good deals on the sale rail. Friendly and unrushed service.

Claire - was a) friendly and approachable b) knew the stuff I needed relating to DoE ) was very informed and all round excellent and helpful

Claire at the Altrincham branch was brilliant.
I went in to buy gaiters and she took her time to explain the different options.

It was a great experience shooting at go outdoors in altrincham. It was my first ime shopping for DofE and I had no idea where to start but Claire helped us so much and walked is through every item thoroughly and explained everything and advised the most budget friendly items and we truly couldn't have done it without her and both her and jade helped us sort out thr payment method through klarna. The staff is just lovely. I would highly recommend for trekking, hiking, camping or DofE shopping or anything you are looking for.

I called and went to Altrincham branch the staff on the phone and in the shop are soooo helpful obliging and lovely

Visited this week to get DofE things for my son. Claire was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I had looked online before visiting but realised that there quite a few things I couldn’t decide without speaking to someone and seeing the items. Great customer service.

The staff at Altrincham express are outstanding. In particular Claire who went above and beyond to help me find a comparable fleece for my husband. I think she was a credit to the company. Certainly we would be happy to return to Altrincham again as opposed to Warrington. I hope go outdoors have a recognition and reward for staff, Claire deserves such recognition.

Go outdoors " more like go to land fill. I'm sure the shop I've been to in Altrincham sell shop soiled goods.
Every thing I buy doesn't last like when I've gone to reputable out let's items last me go out doors and it lasts a few months and that's not even pushing thd the boundaries with the items. I bought a sleeping bag within 6 months the lining sagging at one end stitching came away that holds in place. I've bought several pairs of boots one pair cut my heel and filled my boot with blood.
Another pair of karrymore boots I bought brand new the fake leather coming away. It seems to me this company sells 2nds that don't make the grade. And I was a member I won't be renewing it very poor product look good just don't last the time....they responded get in touch told there customer service team member conclusion they would send me a voucher. Voucher arrived Saturday the 7th 2026 the voucher was for £10.00 not forgetting £5.00 pounds for joining there club means £5 to spend in store. This is a personal insult considering of all the items I bought that are now useless. Like a sleeping bag should last longer than 2 years when only used when cold. And walking boots that last a few months with out falling apart. I take this as a personal insult and I'll never shop in any of the stores again

I dealt with Chris T in-store, top bloke really helpful and advised me correctly.

Picked up from local store as under Offer. Ideal in this weather as warm and comfortable. Had these before but wore them in safety boots but they are size 8 and too big as they only do full sizes. I’m normally a 7 1/2. Feet moved around so ended up with holes. Will not be doing that again.

Chris T made our visit both friendly and informative. Found the right pair of boots for me and gave me some great advice.
