Grasmere Farm Reviews 

In May I ordered and paid for 2kg smoked brie to be delivered 4 days before my son's wedding on 4th July.

10 days before the wedding I received a call from Grasmere saying that they could only supply 1kg.

This is totally unacceptable, at such short notice.

I had ordered and paid for delivery at a reasonable cost, but because they couldn't fulfill the order the cheese, it ended up being far more expensive because of the delivery charge.

In short, their sausages are spectacular. I bought some Pork and Stilton sausages last year at The South of England Show and wanted to try them again. I was able to get some as well as their Pork and Caramelised Red Onion. The texture is perfect and the flavours are awesome. I am not sure I'll ever be able to eat anyone else's sausages again.

We have been buying Grasmere suasages regularly for 20 years and until recently the quality has always beentops.

However during the last couple of years or so we have been increasingly disapointed as it seems there is a problem almost each time we have purchased.

Examples have been numerous but include Skins so hard that they are impossible to eat, poor mixing, one batch was so poor that they were mostly cereal and no meat. Inconsistent seasoning, either far to much or none at all.

The last puchase this week from our local Co-op in Peterborough tasted of nothing but salt.

We thought at first that we might have been unlucky to catch a rougue batch but this has got so bad that we will not be purchasing again.

Sad really to see quality drop from five stars to zero.

I ordered half a pig and I am very satisfied, everything is very fresh, well packed and portioned in vacuum bags.

My only complaint was the courier…DPD local. Arrived in the mid afternoon ,no issue still cold…however the box clearly states Ring the bell…I only found out via text…
However the Bacon is possibly the best we have had, native breed brisket was fine, Lincs sausages better cold than hot Im told .
Not outstanding enough especially with the courier to order again,weird because DPD have always been good.

Is you are a professional chef and buy from these guys you will have all sort of problems.
When you are going to collect your order maybe it's not ready, or it's the wrong order or they didn't revome the pig hairs.
If you ring to get some info, nobody knows anything about it.
They are too busy being Grasmere to give a quality service.

Haslet is the worst I have ever tasted, soaked in Lard and flavour resembles slightly peppered sausage meat - not pleasant at all. Posted my findings on social media and they removed my comment. BAD MOVE.

I bought half a pig meat box,;
4x 1kg rolled leg pork joint, 4 x 1kg rolled shoulder joint, 3kg pork belly slices on the bone, 4kg pork chops, 1.36kg lincolnshire sausages plus an additional 1 x gammon hock, 380g pork cider and apple sausage, 380g pork and Stilton sausage, 6 x minced beef x 500g, 1x 420g bratwurst sausage and a free pack of grunta = all of this for £136 free delivery! The meat is of an exceptionally high quality and vac packed. First time buyer and over the moon with the quality.

The only item missing is venison; were Grasmere able to supply me with my favourite meat; they'd be getting 5 stars. I strongly urge everyone considering higher quality meat and fish to support companies such as this and turn your back on supermarkets for good.
