Tried to order trusses but nobody can be bothered with an order

Disappointed to leave a mediocre review, but sadly this time things weren’t great.
I’m not going to be their biggest customer, very much a DIY project rather than a repeat trade
Customer so I can accept that I’m not going to be the highest priority.
Harlow’s have a great range of stock, and their price is really competitive.
Ordered with a 2 week lead time to arrive the day before I was planning to use the materials - I would usually aim for a larger margin of error time wise, but I currently work away from home frequently so was on a fairly narrow window.

Order placed with no issues, but then no contact nearer the expected delivery date. All the online text basically says “if you haven’t heard from us assume it’s arriving when you requested”

Order was due to arrive on a Monday. 15:00 on said Monday got a phone call saying “sorry there’s been an issue with the vehicle your order was on we will deliver tomorrow” meh, things like that happen, I accept that, but I’m sceptical that the vehicle broke down that late in the day, a heads up earlier would have been appreciated.

Tuesday… (for context delivery address is about 4 miles from their nearest yard) by 1500 I hadn’t had any contact or delivery so called to chase, advised it was out for delivery but no eta. fair enough, didn’t feel very reassured and a little concerned as I was going to be away for a week from weds and didn’t want the goods to be sat on my drive if I wasn’t there to accept.

Order arrived about 16:00.

One line of items missing.

Can’t fault the driver, he made record of it but advised I called to log it myself and arrange delivery.

To be fair the person that I spoke to (who has asked for their name {first name only} to be removed from this review!) arranged promptly to courier the missing posts, but despite me being specific about being away seems to have still either have ignored or promised a service they can’t deliver.

The missing items were due to arrive a week later on the Thursday as that’s when I returned from my working week. Nothing arrived Thursday or Friday email contact Friday and the reply was that they were being picked up by the courier Monday for delivery Tuesday… which, as you’ve guessed it was slap bang in the middle of a working week where I would be away from home.

It’s a shame as previous orders have been faultless, and the quality of products and price are spot on.

Brilliant service, went above and beyond to insure that we received the products we ordered in good condition.

Panels were poor quality and had to ask for replacements

Really good selection of sizes of timber in stock, and at a competitive price. The men in the loading bay were also very nice and helpful. Highly recommend!

Able to find what I was after, at a reasonable price and also was able to have it send to me.

Had a couple of issues but the customer service was fantastic & sorted it straight away.

if you can collect use harlows way cheaper than wickes.

Great service and product range, very competitive prices

Terrible service. I ordered my timber for a fence 30 of April and received last week my order after more than 3 weeks. Allot of timber planks were cracked or damaged and as well twisted. It seems their wood drying process is not so good. My best recommendation is to choose yourself the planks you order and have them delivered to you from a different supplier.

It arrived when they said it would,and packed well.

Very pleased with this thoroughly professionally staffed timber merchant and the great choice available.
I found all the sizes and prices and types of timber materials I needed on their website and delivery costs did not make a big difference when compared to the materials costs more locally.
