We live in the hardest water area in the UK but have never had a water softener. This is a literal life changer.

Skin and hair much improved, surfaces no longer limescaled up after a week, soap products actually working. Wow.

The demo by peter showing the immediate benefits to having softened water...you won't look at your water the same (at least in such a hard water area!)

The install day came around fast and really great work from Zach and Chris who were installing it in my tight spaced cupboard - Let me know exactly what they'd be doing and high quality work. Would recommend.

Tried the trial 2 years ago. Cancelled it and waited for a collection date. They never collected. When I called again after several months, they offered a cheaper offer. They never took the payments from my direct debits. I called several times and they said they would look into it. Nothing heard back. Got divorced and moved house. 2 years later I receive a letter from a debt collection agency. Company promised to write the debt off if I returned the softener as part of the original agreement. I went to a lot of trouble and cost to retrieve the softener from the old property. Now they’re saying that even if returned the item, I still owe the money. And they admit that I cancelled the trial.
Look at other reviews, I’m not the only one this has happened to. BTW, do your research, if another softener uses curved salt, they are still Harveys but marketed differently. You have been warned. DON’T TRUST HARVEY. GO ELSEWHERE.

Great from Demo to installation

Peter came and demonstrated the product, he gave me great advice and at no time was a pushy salesman.
Zach came yesterday and installed my product, he was meticulous in his attention to detail and tidied up at each step of the way.

He explained everything that he was doing and showed me how to use the water softener. Only issue is we couldn’t get the App to work.

Silver tongued sales pitch but abhorrent customer service. I decided to invest in a water filtering system because the water in my area is incredibly hard and chalky, affecting mine and my family’s skin. Harvey Water Softeners seemed like the perfect fit, especially with the “cool” demo and the plethora of payment offers. How wrong I was. Whilst the pitching is top tier, the customer service is not! I asked for the water filter to be removed from my property because I knew I could not keep up with the payments, they told me someone would call back to arrange a removal date. This was last year. I requested this twice. Instead of someone calling back with a date, a silver tongued sales rep spoke to me and sold me another deal making out like it was much more affordable. It was not. Inevitably I got into arrears and received no written correspondence to inform me what the next course of action was. It was only when I received a collections letter from a credit agency that I knew what was going on. I emailed the company to explain my financial difficulty at the moment and to request another removal and nobody responded.

I went to Citizens Advice Burreau who advised me to go to StepChange, which I did. I drew up a budget list with SC and they advised me to offer a token payment every month until I’m in a better position to pay off the debt. I contacted the credit agency to tell them this and they immediately passed it back to Harvey and advised me to contact them directly. I spoke to a representative and told them that I had been trying to contact them for a while to sort this but had received no response and I told them what I had been doing to stay on top of all this and they said they’d log it, asked for all this to be put in writing and sent to them. They said that someone would be in contact to discuss this with me. Nobody ever called. I did all of this in October and it took them until now to respond. When they did, the customer service rep was sniggering at my token offering, claiming it was unacceptable but did nothing to suggest a better alternative. She just asked me to send the documents again, insinuating that I was lying and took no consideration for my financial circumstances. No reply was sent or even receipt of communication, weeks went by and nothing. I also reiterated that I had asked for the system to be removed as of last year, but they conveniently did not have this request recorded on the system.

I was called yesterday with a removal date which I happily accepted and I queried whether someone would respond to my emails. I was sent an email shortly after the phone call and I was shocked by the contents of it. They explained that they don’t have to accept my repayment plan, however little it is, proceeded to pester me for more money than I can afford right now so that I show willingness to pay and threatened me with another collections process. They asked me to advise them when whet should expect the money. Diabolical.

I wish I had stuck to my guns and got the system removed in the first instance. I could have saved myself a lot of aggro, threats and gaslighting.

Malcolm was great. He demonstrated all these complex process very quickly and understandably.

Zach arrived on time, completed the softener installation professionally, and ensured everything was set up perfectly. He was very friendly, patient, and took the time to explain the operation details thoroughly. Additionally, he helped clean up after the installation, leaving the area tidy. I am very impressed with his work and highly recommend his services.

And Malcolm from Harvey provided outstanding service as the coordinator for my Harvey Water Softener installation. From the initial consultation to scheduling the installation with Zach, Malcolm was professional, efficient, and communicative throughout the process.

He ensured that everything was organized seamlessly, and the installation took place without any delays. His efforts in coordinating with Zach, who did a fantastic job installing the system, truly made the entire experience smooth and stress-free.

Zach was really good from start to end of installation.Changed existing water connection and made way for our additional requirement for refrigerator. He did explain everything and set up the account as well for us. It’s the first day on use, will update about the water softener after a month.

The sales rep was very thorough in explaining everything to us. We have just had the softener fitted by Zach who was very professional and explained everything to us. He helped us installing the app and made sure everything was working and we understood it before he left. He did not leave any mess and put runners down to protect our floors. We had an old Harvey softener(about 15 years old) he took that away for us too without us asking him

We had a Harvey water softener installed at an investment property (tenant has aczema) which was organised by my partner. It was installed in Jan 2021. We paid for it 2 days later. We asked for the invoice to be re-addressed from my partner's name to the correct landlord name which we received. The tenant has instructions to throw out any correspondence addressed to my partner or I as we don't have any important mail going to the investment property since we never lived there. To my surprise, the tenant handed me a claims notice addressed to my partner at the investment property address from a debt chaser company asking for payment. I have had to dig out everything to show them the proof of payment. Last year, on recommendation of my tenant, I installed one for my own property. The bundle offer came with a free water filter which they would install. As I was renovating my kitchen, we asked the size of the hole that they would need to install this new tap for the filtered water. They gave us the wrong size. We ended up buying a tap ourselves to install into that hole. Then it took Harvey another half a year to send us the free water filter and salts that came with the package. It was only when it was sorted out by Faraz that things started moving the right way and it was sorted out. Otherwise very very bad customer service. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. I cannot believe they are trying to claim the 2021 job was not paid and it is affecting my partner's credit rating. Their product may be good but the customer service is very very very bad. If anything does not go smoothly (eg. you get a deal from them where they tell you they give you "free" stuff, you have to chase them for it), it will take you an enormous amount of effort to get them to listen to you and sort out what you are due.

Malcolm gave us a great demo of how the softener works, and was really helpful in answering my questions. We had the softener installed by Zach who worked efficiently, and tidied everything back to how it was! Great service by both and also a helpful customer service team member, Faraz, when the app couldn't connect to the softener, which was resolved within a quick phone call. Would definitely recommend!

I had some repairs to a water softening system some 4+ years ago. I have since had a new system fitted by them but after 4 years they tell me I didn't pay for the repair. I asked for some proof, i,e, the cheque no. that was refused or a card number that was refused. I have had absolutely no proof back from them. I have once again received another threatening letter requesting payment. I would be perfectly happy to pay this if they could give me some proof as previously requested.

Appalling customer service. They have no regard for existing customers. It’s like once they sell you their softener they have free rein to exploit through exorbitantly high price hikes to their blocks of salt. No justification from them other than “business decision”. Stay away and install an alternative.

My experience with Harvey Water Softeners has been nothing short of a nightmare, due to the incompetence and disorganization of their accounts team. I made six payments of £318.52 as required. One of these payments initially appeared to go through, only to later show as "refunded" because of a processing error on their end. As soon as I noticed this issue, I manually transferred the payment to ensure my account was fully settled.

Despite my immediate action, Harvey Water Softeners has continued to harass me with repeated demands for an additional £318.52, claiming that I have an outstanding balance. Each time I explain the situation, provide proof of payments, and clarify that the payment error was on their side, they pass my case off to another team member who sends the same repetitive demand. This lack of basic communication and accountability is beyond frustrating and shows a complete disregard for their customers.

The incompetence displayed by their team is shocking—it's as if they cannot even keep track of their own records. Instead, they push their errors onto their customers and subject them to endless emails and demands for payments that have already been made. This level of mismanagement and carelessness is unacceptable for any company, let alone one that expects customers to trust them with large payments.

Save yourself the headache and avoid Harvey Water Softeners. Their accounts and customer service are a disorganized mess, and they clearly lack the professionalism and systems needed to handle basic billing accurately. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had, and I would not recommend them to anyone.
