Great people great service

Real shame about their sales and customer service experience. We listened to the Sales Person when he said that we could bring stuff back / obtain a refund, didn't pay too much attention to what he was adding onto the order on the basis we could just take it back if unused / wrong. We then paid £12k in good faith. After the install was finished, we tried to take a number of things (boxed, unopened and not required - so why was it on my order in the first place?) back only to be told that some of the items were part of a "pack" and therefore non-refundable (contrary to the assertion of the Sales person at the point of sale). I wasn't overly concerned as I thought that a call to Customer Services would resolve matters - but nope, they didn't even have the courtesy to ring me back with the outcome, I had to ring them, only to be told that I wasn't eligible for a refund.

A real shame. Lovely kitchen. Customer experience ruined by lies and a total lack of aftercare & resolution. Caerphilly branch.

Second time I've had a Howdens kitchen, second time that is has failed. My builder talked me into getting it from Howden's saying it had improved. Kitchen has only been used for 9 months but the dishwasher door has blown and the sink door. Howden's have told me their products aren't designed to withstand water and it's not covered under warranty! I was told I shouldn't open the dishwasher door when it's on. It's a kitchen - surely water is what you completely expect! Their products aren't sealed properly - check for yourselves and don't buy Howdens!

We worked with Ashley in Howden's Caerphilly to get our new kitchen fitted in Cardiff town centre. From the outset Ashley was attentive, efficient and professional, with excellent communication throughout. He attended the property and did a really thorough job of measuring the kitchen, offering advice and answering all our questions. He wasn't pushy at all, just gave us real confidence in the kitchen design, and didn't attempt to up-sell us or offer us anything we didn't want. Another real bonus was that Ashley had an existing relationship with a contractor so they were able to communicate and ensure the product supplied would fit the kitchen perfectly, and this really helped smooth the fitting along. I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to recommend Howden's, and Ashley in the Caerphilly branch in particular!

Customer service very poor. Howdens Assigned our kitchen to a builder we never planned to use or used and now refusing to give us an invoice for what we ordered, paid for and any refunds of items returned so we can't check if its correct. Something dogey here, makes me think are they putting customers orders through they're recommended builders so it looks like they're doing work their not and putting it on the books . Will let the Ombudsman investigate. Be very careful of purchasing kitchens through the Caerphilly store, hounded to buy a kitchen with multiple offers then when paid they are not interested.

Very helpful staff and great prices for our kitchen.

Andy was so professional but listened to our particular needs and when we met he was very patient as picking a kitchen can be quite daunting, not with Andy. Just a gentle experience and one I would highly recommend.

Needed a cheap and cheerful kitchen for a rental property. Booked an appointment for Richard (in Caerphilly) to come out who did a great job with design, the price was very reasonable. I also needed a fitter and Richard recommended Jeff Cook who has been fantastic throughout. Jeff works really hard and has no hesitation in going over and above what's required, he couldn't have been more helpful. The only reason I've given 4 starts not 5 is that Howdens weren't able to deliver the whole kitchen on time, it came through in bits and pieces which set me back about 3 weeks and to be honest, their customer service at that point wasn't great. When I asked why the fittings had been delayed, they had no idea. Now that it's finally all done though, I'm pleased with the end result, it looks good. The kitchen quality is good - not amazing but then you get what you pay for.

Staff their very friendly and always offer support advise constructive and informative information on products. The guys in the warehouse again are very helpful and even help to load my kitchen. A service greatly appreciated.

I would like to change my review of my experience.
My complete order was wrong upon my collection on Friday morning, I clearly wasn't listened to.
Then when I unwrapped the sliding wardrobe door, the design " wheel" mechanism had changed creating different measurements so I had to rip apart my structure to adapt to new design.
Then I opened the track box, only to find that it was not compatible with the " new" design.
After all this on Friday I will be closing my account at howdens tomorrow and never dealing with them again.
I pride myself on my work and professional abilities, these factors have made me look amateur in front of my client and has set me back on my completion timescale, thus costing me money.
