I purchased a towel radiator from Livinghouse for over £1,000 which failed after less than 18 months of normal use when the internal heating element stopped working.
Livinghouse refused to replace the part because their warranty on electrical components is limited to 12 months, even though the element itself is manufactured by Terma, whose heating elements typically carry a 2-year manufacturer warranty. Most competing brands such as Acova or Atlantic also provide at least a 2-year warranty on their electric radiators.
It is also worth noting that Livinghouse actively markets and sells its products to customers in France (French-language website, prices in euros, delivery in all France displayed), yet the warranty position taken here appears difficult to reconcile with the consumer protection standards expected within the European market.
While investigating the fault, I discovered another issue. The radiator described in the quotation as “electric only – 422 W” is actually fitted with a 200 W heating element, meaning the real electric heating output is around 200 W.
Livinghouse now states that the element specification was available in a technical PDF at the time of sale, but no such document was provided with the quotation and none was available when the purchase was made.
In practice, the discrepancy between the 422 W specification and the 200 W installed element only became apparent after the radiator failed and the element specification was checked.
Reputable manufacturers clearly communicate the actual electric power their radiators deliver, not a theoretical output derived from another operating mode. Presenting a radiator as “electric only – 422 W” while fitting it with a 200 W element is therefore misleading regarding the real electric heating performance.
Several similar products currently advertised on the Livinghouse website appear to follow the same approach, where the theoretical radiator output is highlighted while the actual electric element power is not clearly presented, and where long warranty periods are prominently advertised despite shorter coverage on key electrical components.
For a premium radiator at this price level, the combination of an early failure and the specification issue remains very disappointing.
They also mention that the purchase was made by a contractor and can't deal with me. However, the contractor has initiated the correspondence reporting the failure and is expecting their answer. He is part of the exchange we have by email with Customer Services.
In view of these issues, I am now considering pursuing the matter through the appropriate legal channels, including court action if necessary.

I couldn’t be happier with my shower from Livinghouse. It’s beautiful. The company even did a bespoke measurement for me; Glasgow tenement flats toilets are quite a particular shape! Delighted with the quality and attention to detail of the enclosure and frame elements. Communication was first class too. Thank you.

I’m after really to see if anyone has had the same experience as me,
I have a customer who brought a shower screen which I had to fit,
It was basically a 12mm solid glass panel,
When we arrived it was packaged well, we treated it with upmost care removed the packaging close to the fitting location on a mattress where we both carried it to it’s position, at no point at all did it come into contact with any surfaces, as we got it into an upright position and I had it in my hands elevated from the floor it literally exploded in my face, I’ve looked it up and it’s possible there was a defect in the glass
I don’t believe this is the first time this can have happened and I’m looking for people with the same experience,
I assume if it didn’t happen at that point it would have happened at some point in the future to which they blame bad fitting, which is worse due to the element of doubt and the fact my customer could have been in the shower covered in glass.
As far as the company is concerned it’s nothing to do with them,
I don’t doubt this would put people off buying a shower screen from them and I’d really advise to stay away from it and the after problems, however I would think this is not an isolated incident due to bad manufacturing,

Also had to contact again as I missed bits off my order and they were really quick to help again. The radiators are in our new build so have not been used yet so can't comment on that but they look amazing and more expensive than they were, really good quality. Would definitely recommend this company and it's products.

I actually spoke to a real person (Simon) who was very helpful and patient. I am a bit of a dinosaur with technology and chatting on the phone was refreshing and helpful in deciding on my purchase. Delivery was as promised within three days, so all good.

“In reply to your response, the mechanism was also damaged and marks of that are still visiable, so replacing the plastic lid part which was severely damaged, with one that was badly spray painted in a different finish to the original, does not make it a brand new toilet seat. - I asked for a new replacement directly from manufacturer together with the mechanism, in the factory finish in the colour that I initially received but this time without damages”.
Replacement electric lid has been sent to me. I returned it as it had large damages upon receiving. I received an email from Tom stating the following "The seat has been inspected and the marks visible in your photos polished out. We have replaced the seat for a new one anyway for your peace of mind and it will be despatched tomorrow."
I received this very seat, which was sent back to me in exact same packaging i sent it back in. The seat was spray painted over the damages, which is very obvious as the finish and the colour of it is completely different from how i initially received it, and sent back to me as a brand new seat.
I have been lied to, misled, tricked, fooled. This company is not an honest company. I am expecting to receive a brand new seat replacement from Malasia (which is where it came from initially).
I have emailed both of the directors of the company multiple times also, who have failed to respond to me. I am waiting for a response asap. And a proper replacement of the electric seat, without which my 1,5k toilet is not a smart electric toilet, failing to do this i expect my money back in full. For both toilets.
I expect this to be dealt with as soon as possible. Disgusted by this service.

I need a faucet in short order, and called and spoke to Tom who physically went to confirm the item was in stock.
It was delivered promptly after placing my order online. Unfortunately the colour didn’t match my decor and I was dreading a tedious and long returns process
I shouldn’t have worried as Tom quickly emailed me the instructions to return the item, and having received it emailed me to confirm I will be refunded in a few days

When I complained they offered selective advice on how to protect the goods ( a bit late retrospectively and no advice on how to rectify issues ! ) and suggested that hard abrasives were the issue ( not the case ). In the interim a superior titanium coated product is now available and I could always buy that was the response ........ Avoid this company, they do not take complaints seriously and goods should last longer than 4 year without needing replacement.

Ordered a shower tray with living house, which my builder sadly damaged slightly during installation. It was a very minor chip and completely the builders fault, but Living House still went out of their way to help me and provided a free repair kit and detailed instructions. Fantastic service as I thought I was just going to have to live with it but asked Living House on the off chance they had advice on how to hide it from their experience. The repair kit they sent did the job perfectly and now looks brand new. Very relieved and very happy!!
