The customer service was great
The customer service was great! I especially wanted to acknowledge Joe, one of the assistant managers, and the seamstress, Anoy, who were professional, helpful in assisting me with my situation with my son’s suit. Thank you both for your dedication to your customers.
Be careful in dealing with this store
Be careful in dealing with this store. On September 30, 2025 I bought a suit from this store and was measured for alterations. I explained that I needed the suit no later than October 24, for a planned event. They assured me it would be ready on that date. When I went in on the promised date (over 3 weeks after purchase), the suit wasn't ready and they admitted they had not even started on the alterations. I asked for a credit card refund and left. I'll post later as to whether I get the refund.
Update. Made right by management- Treated Like a Problem, Not a Paying Customer
Update: After escalating my concern, Men’s Wearhouse management reached out and agreed to send a replacement as a courtesy. I appreciate the follow-through and their effort to make things right after my earlier frustrations. The process took persistence, but they ultimately showed that they do stand behind their products when pushed to the right level.
I’ve spent around $700 with Men’s Wearhouse recently, hoping for quality and professionalism. Instead, I’ve gotten nothing but delays, poor communication, and dismissive customer service.
My orders arrived piecemeal over two weeks, one item at a time, and when my new boots arrived, the leather pull loop tore off the first time I tried them on. I contacted customer service expecting a quick fix — instead, I got a copy-paste response followed by a rep telling me they “cannot send a second pair of boots for free.”
That comment alone says everything about how far this company has fallen. I’m not asking for a handout — I’m asking for accountability on a defective item and respect as a customer who’s spent real money.
Men’s Wearhouse used to stand for class and quality. Now it’s all bureaucracy, poor craftsmanship, and customer service that makes you feel like you’re the problem for expecting what you paid for.
Shameful behavior in stark contrast to the companies image.
A very disappointing experience
A very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place if you need to rent a texudo in Washington, D.C.
After two tries in the store, I asked for the pants to be lengthened, as they were clearly too short and made me look ridiculous. On the day of the event, when I picked up the tuxedo, the hem had not been lengthened and the garment was unwearable.
The store only refunded me for the pants, as if you could go to a black tie event wearing only a jacket, shirt, and shoes.... and no pants !
This practice feels fundamentally unfair and left me feeling taken advantage of.
They are absolutely god awful
They are absolutely god awful. Understaffed and the quality is sparse. The latest round of frustration was making an appointment so I’d have someone’s attention only to be told when I got there was to wait in line and we will be to you when we handle the other 10 people in here. I felt bad for everyone in the store. I couldn’t wait, which is why I tried the appointment route. I left with a few thousand dollars in my pocket they lost out on. I won’t go back. Time to find a good custom tailor / shop. I have options where I live thankfully. Sorry to those that don’t.
quality, value, and customer service
I have been purchasing Men's Wearhouse products for the last 6 months. Very pleased with the quality and value. On two occasions, I communicated with customer service to rectify items mis-shipped or wrong size. Professional, courteous, and provided immediate solutions. I will continue to purchase from Men's Wearhouse. They have helped me up my game at work.
IN FRONT OF MY CHILDREN
IN FRONT OF MY CHILDREN, I was yelled at by a transgender employee, “I AM NOT A SIR!!” Then he had a complete meltdown. I was told to leave and never come back as he threatened to call the cops on me. This happened in a store full of customers.
Omg...
Omg... i would occasionally hear that the customers who called the corporate number for assistance would often have to wait upwards to 20 minutes before they were attended to. I just brushed it off to someone who lacked patience until it happened to me. I literally called on 4 separate occasions and waited over 30 minutes each of the first three phone calls before giving up and calling back later. Now i am on hold the fourth time and it blows my mind to think that this is how they do business. I have been doing business with them for over 20 years and I can honestly say that I for one
will be looking for a new place to do business with after this.
So much bad I'm not sure where to start
CONS:
1) items canceled without any notice to me
2) items shipped via 'expedited shipping' arrived 5 days after their purported arrival date
3) Items were late, not due to carrier problems, but because MW created the label for shipping 1 day after the original arrival date
4) Phone cust service was polite but unable to help, even with 3 brick and mortar stores in my location
5) Customer support answered an email query without offering a real apology or any customer support
6) When the shirts arrived, 2 out of 3 looked used and were packed in a way that they were flattened in transit.
PROS:
They did refund the expedited shipping charge
FULL REVIEW:
Where to start...
I ordered 4 shirts online during one of MW's discount sales. I chose expedited shipping to get the shirts in time for an occasion. The shirts did not arrive on time and I had no email sent indicating any delay. I looked on my account--the items had not appeared to have shipped and one shirt was cancelled: no communication regarding any of this.
I checked the site again a day later. The order now had a Fedex link. Fedex noted that a shipping label was created one day AFTER the item was supposed to have arrived. (Hard for items to arrive on time if you start the shipping process one day after the projected arrival date.)
I called customer service. Kudos to MW that they have phone customer service even on a weekend. Sadly, the rep could not really do much. (Very odd, as I live near 3 MW locations. You'd think they'd be able to find a similar shirt(s) in my size at a local location and reserve them for me or something. But no--no way to look at or reserve inventory. Strange.) I did remind him that I paid for expedited shipping and he was able to at least remove that charge. But no help on the order.
I emailed customer support and they answered as follows, and this is a direct quote: "I'm sorry to hear that your order did not arrive on time and that one of your items was canceled—I completely understand your frustration. Once you receive the remaining items, you're welcome to return them either online or at your local store for a full refund, if you choose. We strive to provide excellent customer service..."
Umm... first, the letter is in passive voice. As if MW had nothing to do with the late arrival. They did--they failed to ship on time. This is followed by validation/faux empathy, when they 'completely understand my frustration.' This is by definition insulting, as they actually never took ownership of the error. Their solution? 'You're welcome to return' the items. Really? This is how they are striving for excellent customer support?
Now, I did not want the obligatory 10-20% off on my next order or even a discount on the present order. I wanted/needed the shirts and I wanted them to arrive on time. Second, returning the items is not a resolution to the problem. It represents a failure to resolve the problem.
The order finally came 5 days late. I opened the package and found 1 new shirt in original packaging. The other two shirts were thrown together in a single plastic shirt bag. The bottom one was put together, not so neatly, with pins and the second shirt was haphazardly folded on top of it. Both collars were flattened as neither shirt was in the original packaging.
I'm guessing that these shirts were returned merchandise or store samples. Either way, they were sold as NEW on the website. If I wanted 'gently used' merchandise, I'd have purchased the shirts on Poshmark or eBay. And, BTW, the vendors on those sites generally package the shirts more deftly than this.
So, I've put in another query for customer support. At this point, I don't want any 'offers.' Assuming that the shirts pan out to be what I want, I will not return them. If not, I'll bring them back to a physical location near me and get a refund that way. (Reading some of the reviews here and other sites, online refunds are spotty at best.)
Before a wedding, I ordered a tuxedo shirt to be picked up at one of the local locations. The store was neat, well lit, well arranged, and the salesman was extremely helpful. The shirt was their house brand and fit me well.
After that great experience, I ordred online without doing any research. It seemed like a legit company with a really nice local location. I had originally intended to buy the shirts online and pick them up locally, but that was not an option with the items I bought this time. So, I went with the fast shipping.
Based on the present online experience, I would NEVER SHOP WITH THEM ONLINE AGAIN.
As to my onloine purchase, the correctly packaged, truly new shirt looked nice and my previous purchase was too. The shirts that arrived stuffed in a bag were fine shirts as well. For me this was not a merchandise quality problem. Everything else was just bad.
All in all, a truly awful online shopping experience.
Think twice
Not convinced I would ever rent another tux from here. Danbury Ct location.
From the first visit. The process took way too long. The tux and pants were decent. The shirt was made for someone twice my size.and upon coming back for the rental pickup I am so glad I decided to try everything back on. To my surprise my pants would not even fit a child. Somebody replaced the ones I had with a change. So be careful where you go. Not my first pic and pricing was very expensive… shoes were horrible. Bought my own.
They changed jacket sizes without our consent.
We rented a suit for my boyfriend for a wedding and they measured his size but then decided to go back and downsize the jacket. He is muscular so his arms BARELY fit in the sleeves and we didn’t have time to fix it since it was ready three days before. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
Dirty store with associates who were…
Dirty store with associates who were scary looking and did not seem motivated to be there. The store was an absolute disaster - boxes and dirt all over. Not again. This was the South Portland Maine store.
Absolutely horrible customer experience!
I'll try to keep this short. I was on a text chat for nearly an hour with two different reps to try to place an order after getting no help from my local store. I tried 4 different types of payment and got a message that "the website was unable to process my request". No errors about my payment info, just that the site couldn't process and "please try again later". The first rep was very helpful because the site wasn't accepting my rewards certificates and manually adjusted the prices for me but I couldn't get the order to go through. The second rep recommended that I start from scratch and build my order again. First, that is not a satisfactory resolution, the order is already set up. Second, how was I supposed to get the reward credits with the adjusted prices?? Apparently it was quitiing time because my text reverted back to the AI assistant in the middle of working with the live rep. Seriously?? I've been a customer for well over 30 years and I'm done with Men's Wearhouse!
Go here if you want to get fat shamed
If I could give negative stars I would!!! I was so excited to go suit shopping with my dad today for my wedding that’s coming up next month until I experienced perhaps the worst demonstration of customer service I’ve seen ANYONE receive, ever. We were there 10-15 min by the time we were finally greeted, but soon that would be the least of our worries. We were originally greeted by a yong lady with short hair and an accent who highlight of our visit. From there, we were assisted by Rich who was a-ok until he proceeded to tell my father not to bother trying out the suit style he liked because he could “never wear a skinny fit suit with his shape.” Ummm have you seen a mirror because that’s RICH coming from you!!! My poor dad has been working his butt off trying to get in shape for my wedding and now even in a 34 pant size he’s essentially being fat-shamed by a men’s warehouse employee??? Is this real?! I could see all of the excitement and new found confidence drain from his face as soon as Rich made that very hurtful remark. Clearly commision isn’t very high because why the heck would anyone in sales say that to a paying customer! We swallowed our pride, my dad tried the suit on anyway and LOVED it. The only this missing was a shirt to go with it, so with Rich being M.I.A. at the moment, I headed to the wall of shirts and grabbed one to try for size. It was a little snug so I went back for a size up- I wasn’t getting mister “you can’t wear skinny fit” involved again. The second shirt was better than the first but wasn’t quite the right length, so my dad came over to the wall to pick one for himself. We were then accosted by a third employee saying “you can’t just keep trying shirts and taking the cardboard out, aren’t you on your 3rd one now?” Then he proceeded to mansplain how they have shirts already hung up for this in back… sorry we don’t work here so how would we know to check the back for said shirts?! My dad and I were both speechless considering he was not our sales associate and took an very annoyed tone out of nowhere. The associate then scoffed and looked at me as my dad as my dad walked away. I told him that I was sorry we didn’t know about the other shirts, but it was clear he bursted my dad’s bubble to which he responded “I’m a grown man I don’t care if I burst someone’s bubble.” You’d almost think this the employees are actively trying to deter deter customers from buying anything with these sales strategies. I’m not proud of this last part- but I couldn’t help flipping these guys off thru the window after we obviously left empty handed due to the horrible experience. I hope every sales associate we met at this store today EXCEPT for the lady has a TERRIBLE month and explosive diarrhea tonight🧨
I went into the Men's Warehouse on…
I went into the Men's Warehouse on McKinley Blvd Blasdell NY 2 weeks ago to look at men's blazers. The staff came up to me and they said we don't sell blazers. I asked about summer blazers, one I could use at the golf club I belong too. Nope still insisted there were no blazers available.
So I left empty handed. Went back again about 10 days later. Place was empty. I looked at many blazers and checked out my size specs. I tried on about 6-7 jackets.
Not one person came to help me at all (I was there about 20 min). So I walked out and will order online somewhere else then have it altered at my local tailor shop.
Adios!

I was provided with excellent service by Joe. My experience so far has been very great
Great service, friendly, knowledgeable associate
My husband and I had a great experience in the Macon store, with all credit going to Tiffany Wright, the sales associate. We purchased a suit a few months earlier. My husband had never worn it as he had lost a good amount of weight in a very short length of time due to some medical issues. We thought we could have it altered . However, Tiffany advised us that alterations would be too extensive and, therefore, not feasible. She spent a great deal of time with us looking for an alternate suit and, fortunately found one that fit perfectly. We were so pleased with her service and time spent helping us. Tiffany was great to work with, making for a very positive experience. We would definitely recommend Men’s Wearhouse and be sure to ask for Tiffany. She is a great asset to the store! Thanks so much, Tiffany

Outstanding Service and Experience at…
Outstanding Service and Experience at Men’s Wearhouse – Thank You, Kevin Jones!
I had a last-minute security detail come up, and just one day before the event, I found myself needing a new suit. I went to Men’s Wearhouse at 1210 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg, VA, where I picked up a shirt and started looking at suits. Although I saw some great options, I decided to check a few other stores nearby to see if I could find a better deal.
After searching around, I realized nothing else compared to what I had seen—and experienced—at Men’s Wearhouse. I returned later that same day, but by the time I got there, the store had just closed. So I came back first thing the next morning, just hours before my event, and that’s when I had the pleasure of being helped by Kevin Jones, the store manager.
Kevin was absolutely outstanding. He helped me find the perfect suit—even though it was a bit more than I had originally planned to spend. He walked me through more affordable options, but in the end, I decided to treat myself. Kevin got the pants hemmed in under 10 minutes, and when I tried on the full suit, I felt sharp, confident, and ready. I have to say, I looked amazing from neck to toe!
To top it all off, Kevin helped me pick out the perfect pair of shoes to match the suit. His professionalism, attention to detail, and calm, courteous approach made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable—especially given the tight timeframe. He truly went above and beyond to make sure I was fully prepared for my job.
I’ll absolutely be back in the future, and I believe Kevin deserves serious recognition—or even a raise—for the incredible service he provided. Thank you, Kevin! I truly appreciate everything you did.
