only just discovered this company as I was looking for a specific width piece of timber. Prices were good and branch was local to me so I give them a try. Sad to say buy 1st and last time I will use them. Had me waiting ages to collect my order, no confirmation that order was ready to collect, I had to call up to check. Timber is terrible, specific piece I needed is twisted badly and near unusable.

I wish I could give more * MkM are a great firm to buy things from we bought all our patio flags from them. Sam was a great help. I have been in touch with them today regarding internal doors. The man that helped me today was superb. Very helpful staff well done MKM

I’ve used MKM many times for building supplies and am always so impressed by the service. The staff have always been so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The delivery drivers go above and beyond to provide a great service. Thanks to Gary for navigating our tricky access down a narrow country lane - it’s much appreciated! I would highly recommend.

Was after few symphony kitchen cabinets. Before placing the order, I visited the store seeking advice and assistance. Unfortunately, there was nobody available to help me on the day, so I left my contact details and was assured someone would contact me. I never received a call back! After several further attempts to obtain assistance online, I eventually received a quotation containing only three line items.

At the time, I had provided details of my existing kitchen, including photographs and the finish of the doors already installed. As I only required two additional cabinets to match the existing kitchen, I reasonably expected the quotation and order process to ensure the products supplied would be suitable and consistent with what was already in place.
There were no questions asked about my order by sales person, just a plain 3 line quote supplied with no additional details or T&Cs

When the order arrived, several issues became apparent:
• The cabinets supplied were white. The cabinet colour was not specified on the quotation, and as I had provided details of my existing grey kitchen, I naturally assumed the cabinets would match the doors and drawers.
• A set of cabinet legs was missing from the delivery.
• Two handles were supplied despite not being required.
• The plinth arrived damaged and scratched, making it unsuitable for use.
• Screw cover stickers were supplied in grey. If the cabinets are supplied in white as standard, it is unclear why the cover stickers are not also white.

When I raised these concerns, I was informed that white cabinets are supplied as standard. However, this was never explained to me during the sales process, nor was it detailed on the quotation. Had I received the advice and communication I attempted to obtain from the store, I would have been able to make an informed decision and ensure the order met my requirements.

I was also disappointed by the response I received from the store, which simply stated that the items could not be returned because they were bespoke made. There was no greeting, acknowledgement of the issues raised, or attempt to address my concerns. If products are being supplied as bespoke items, I would expect a much more detailed quotation and a thorough explanation of all available options to ensure the order is correct before manufacture.

Furthermore, despite reporting the missing legs immediately, there was no prompt resolution. As a result, I had to source replacement legs elsewhere in order to proceed with the installation. It has now been over a week, and communication from the store remains extremely poor.

After complaints from as sent to customer service I received the email from Mansfield branch that cabinets are not refundable, end off.
No acknowledgment that their sales team have clearly failed.
Was promised a refund for missing legs; week later still no sign of it…
I am very disappointed with both the quality of service and the products received. The price paid does not reflect the level of customer service, communication, or attention to detail that I would reasonably expect.

Bought roof batons from Ripon branch. They were delivered first thing next day so I would like to deeply recommend their services for their reliability, correspondence and punctuality.

As woman it can be intimidating going to a builders merchants but the super friendly staff at the Aldershot branch were such a welcome relief. They were so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Would recommend MKM Aldershot and will no doubt be back again for more materials.

First class service when I got let down elsewhere.. The guys at the Wakefield store stepped and delivered the same day at a price that was more than reasonable.

Cant reccomend highly enough. Its a double thumbs up from me.

Made an order 6 am, it was on my drive at 10.15 am same day. Amazing service from MKM Scarborough

Recently ordered quite a bit of wood to be delivered. Customer service in Chelmsford was great. Even gave me a two hour delivery slot and were on time! Recommend!

Awful service. I have used Barnsley MKM loads; brilliant team. Will never use Sheffield Parkway again. No reply to emails, delivery updates not given despite requests, order tuned up in batches, and not when agreed. Part of order still missing; emailed twice, no response. Now opened credit card dispute. Appalling.

I ordered several items from B&Q, which were apparently supplied by MKM. When I requested a return because the items were no longer needed, I was told I would have to pay a £40 collection fee, and that collection would take place only “when we are in the area.”

Despite repeated messages between myself, B&Q, and very little input from MKM, and after waiting two weeks, I've just came home from a short walk to find the items had simply disappeared. I received no call, no message, and no confirmation that the collection was taking place. Whether they were collected or taken by someone else, I have no idea, but I've had enough of babysitting these items now.

B&Q have since waived the collection fee, which I appreciate, but I am now waiting for the refund to be processed. Given the experience so far, I’m not feeling confident about how long that will take.

Problem with MKM Woodburn Road Sheffield.
Will try to keep this short as possible. I put 2 x orders in 1188018 & 1188019.
No problems with "18" (decorative stone) however "19' was a no show after a few days so I contacted them ( a young lady) see said they did not have the 600 x 600 x22 slabs in stock but she could get me 600 x 900 x 22 instead but at an extra cost. I agreed to this, and she said she would get back in touch. I did find it strange that they did not contact me to let me know that they did not have the originals in stock, even though I had paid for them?
NO CALL, again from them so I phoned and spoke to a young man and explained my situation. He said she was busy on another call but would get her to call as soon as possible, No Call?
I phoned again and spoke to another guy and explained my situation, he proceeded to completed the payment I needed to pay for the additional costs and confirmed that delivery would be the Friday. I arranged for a guy to attend my premises to lay the slabs from Friday lunch, howrver, No Call, No Delivery, and paid the guy for his time. NO Show today Saturday, as expected.....
My conclusions are that the sales/ customer services must be trained to tell lies, because that is what it is, blatant lies. For a company that is well thought off country wide, these people at the Sheffield branch must be hand picked for their ability to lie and keep a streight face........I would not advise anyone to use this company, well at least this Sheffield branch

I had a Symphony kitchen fitted. However, within months the paint started peeling off the cupboards. This was not normal wear and tear. The paint was simply not durable or fit for purpose. I wanted my doors replacing but I was sent a 'magic man' to cover over the damage - but he himself said this will only happen again especially in areas of high traffic. It has happened again and now MKM are telling me that the paint coming off is due to neglect. I am a tidy professional person simply using my kitchen and do not expect the paint to fall off so easily and MKM are not resolving the issue which they need to do. Symphony are happy to honour my guarantee but MKM are not commuicating with symphony effectively and are trying to put the blame on me for a poor quality kitchen finish.

Sorry to have to write a negative review, l use MKM as a 1st port of call for all my buildings and landscaping needs, today l went and purchased 2 bags of sand ,ordered and paid for at the desk given a receipt and told to park next to the stacks of sand in the yard and someone would come and assist, this l did, there was nobody about it was like the Meri Celest, so l located the sand and loaded myself, on leaving l happened to look into the warehouse part, and 3 lads stood around a pallet drinking and talking ?, l suppose it was cooler in there then outside ,the only thing l could say in their defence is it was dinner time !.

I've not experienced such excellent service in years. As soon as I entered the Canterbury store I was approached by a friendly man, who confirmed the grade of pea shingle I needed and established the type of vehicle capable of delivering a bulk bag to my property, which has restricted access. The delivery arrived on time and the driver couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. He craned the bag into the exact position I had hoped for. After receiving such impeccable service, I have no hesitation in recommending this company's Canterbury branch.

Ordered and paid for 2 maxi bags of sand and a pack of bricks almost 2 weeks ago. Still not been delivered. Do not use this incompetent company.

Ordered a couple of supplies, a very low value order... Free delivery, and was delivered the same day!...madness. the delivery driver communicated well also.

Internal sales is shocking. They never seem to know anything, and when you leave your number for a callback, they never return the call. Prices appear to be made up on the spot because they don’t know them, and if someone asks a question outside their area, they cannot answer because there is no cross-training.

Gareth and Ellis in Bridgend could benefit from product training, customer service awareness, and better knowledge of suppliers’ catalogues.

As internal sales staff, they are not convincing and certainly do not encourage customers to do business with MKM.

Being in commercial sales myself, I’m baffled that a company like MKM does not recognise its weaknesses or appreciate customer feedback. The general manager would not even take my comments on board, claiming that I am apparently the only person to complain in the last 18 months. However, after speaking to tradespeople and private customers, it seems poor service is common knowledge.

I’m currently renovating my house, and MKM is not on my list of suppliers. I have been too may time to the store and every single time I have experience the same inconpetence and incompetence and lack of knowledge. I would rather pay extra elsewhere than give my business to MKM.
