Myers Building & Timber Supplies Reviews 

Placed order for delivery for 4th August. Received a voicemail stating the match board t&g was damaged and they have to order it from another branch-no estimated date when to expect it. Emailed yesterday (2 days later) asking when can I expect it, was told, they will call when it’s in. Poor service; why can’t you tell me how many days it will take, why does it still state 35 still in stock, why take my payment when you haven’t got the stock. Not the first time this happened, find using the website unreliable and inaccurate - don’t order online, they never have it in stock, I won’t be using again, nor will I recommend anyone else to use them. Just hope I actually receive my order (previously I have had to chase them after a week waiting)

Received order on 11/8 with the majority of the order damaged and unusable. ( the initial reason it was delayed).

I ordered my items.but they didn't arrive .
After numerous contacts. Initially they said we are not aware of order. When I told them I paid for the items (£150 +) I think they were going to steal my money. Eventually when I told the I would take the matter to court did they relent. I am out of money because I expected the order on time and the workers couldn't do the work buy obviously they need paying. Just be careful with this company. Not recommended!

Never thought I would give a building merchant a five star review but I had cause to ring the Skipton Branch re a delivery we had received. I spoke to Nigel on the phone and thought his phone manner, knowledge and professionalism stood out.
Following our conversation we decided to call in. We got there and what a professional and personable person he was. Fully addressed our concerns and took us to the part of the yard where our product came from and allowed us to look at the full range of soils giving us total reassurance.
I have no hesitation recommending Myers on the basis of the service we received from Nigel

Twice I have ordered on line and paid for delivery and both times it has been cancelled because their large wagon cannot come up our road.
Cancelled this morning and I have just seen a large delivery vehicle from Myers go past my gate!
Someone needs to sort the Thornton branch out!
Silsden seem to manage the road?

Visiting a builders' merchant can be intimidating when you're not a builder or actively involved in the trade. Michael and Adam transformed it into an enjoyable experience, even securing a pleasant discount. I would wholeheartedly endorse Myers in Shipley.

Staff have been brilliant. Helpful, efficient service placing my order, delivery on time, and the discount saved me a decent amount of money! Thank you to Greg for hauling the fence panels around, which is a bit of a challenge to get to my property.. on a scorching hot day too!

Working in the trade as a joiner I have called into many Myers builders merchants and haven’t had a bad experience but the sowerby bridge branch I tend to give a wide birth unless I’m stuck, it has to be the most unfriendly branch I have ever been too, the majority of the staff seem very unhappy to be there, short in response and quite un helpful tbh

I purchased some gravel grids and Black Ice chippings and was served by Jordan McCartney. Very friendly but still professional. I spent more than expected but was please with the service and customer experiance.

On completing two thirds of the work I had run out of the chippings. I called Myers and was served again by Jordan. Once again the service was 1st class and he went above and beyond and managed to get me a deliver the same day.

My experiance of using Myers was fantastic and I could not recommend them highly enough. Thanks Jordan!!

We have had around 15 packs of concrete blocks delivered by Greg he helps Everytime always got a smile on his face and is a true grafter. Made our job a loth hi I'm easier and the customer was very happy with the job. A great representative for his company.

Easy to order on line. Excellent communication and delivery. Driver polite and accommodating.

I ordered concrete posts and gravel boards online on 21.11.25 requesting delivery on 25th.
By the 25th I'd had no contact so rang the branch to be told it would be the back end of the week as they didn't have any gravel boards in stock! Someone would contact me with a date.
Come the end of the week no contact so rang the branch, again told someone would ring me back, but nobody did.
Now it's the 1st December, 10 days later. I've just rung the branch again, answered by a person who said its not on for delivery yet When I told him about the delay he said" I just work in the yard" I'll get the manager to ring you back, he's in a meeting"
Still waiting!
I'm just a small business, so delays like this are very impactive on me. My customer is not happy.
Appalling service from Myers, I won't be using them again.

Sowerby Bridge delivery guy (Greg?) couldn't have been more helpful, with a great attitude throughout despite trying weather's conditions & crap access - give him a raise, Friday off & a slice of cake!

Called in to the Brighouse depot to pick up some additional boards I had already purchased a couple of weeks prior. The picker didn't listen to what I said and picked the wrong item. Rather than just get the correct item he chose to verbally abuse me for the next 10 minutes refusing to accept his mistake. Management intervention failed to curtail his abuse which continued while supervisory staff stood shrugging his shoulders and apologising (I can only assume that the guy was in fear of the aggressor). He then brought the very large and heavy board I had ordered and refused to help me lift it onto my vehicle. The supervisor stood watch while I struggled to load the item and the picker continued his tirade while i did so. I will never buy from here again nor will I refer anyone else to so either.

This is my first time dealing with Myers. The guys at Sowerby Bridge, who took my order, were friendly, helpful and accommodating. They sent my order of nearly 40 heavy bags of cement mix, ballast etc in a small truck that could navigate the narrow roads in Luddenden. This meant that Greg, from the Elland branch, had to manually unload and carry the bags to my property, which he did with a smile on his face and a friendly manner. He was an excellent representative for his company, which certainly lives up to its 'Friendly & Trusted' service claim.

Great delivery service and a driver with common sense, 5 stars!

As a builder I do not expect to be ripped off by any merchant.
What I've just been charged is beyond belief.
As regards contacting Myers (Boroughbridge) for prices next time there won't be one.
I used to spend a lot of money with this firm but never again.
£53 for 2 bags of NHL 3.5 (lime) not to mention the price of cement just sums up what a rip off merchant they really are!!

Wow! What service we get from Myers. This morning before 8am we had a delivery of 40 lengths of decking. Not only were they half price in June but Greg from Elland branch who delivered them carried them up a 35m steep slope to our property. Exceptional customer service with a smile included. Thank you so much Greg.

Can’t rate this company highly enough!

I had been let down by another supplier for the sandstone flags I wanted so called my local branch (Penistone) who saved me a delivery slot for the next day before I’d even placed my order to ensure I got the flags ASAP.

On delivery, a couple of the flags were damaged so I emailed the Penistone branch who sent replacement flags out to me within 4 hour of me messaging them! They even sent out extra flags on the delivery so that I could choose which ones I wanted.

The people I spoke to on the phone, on chat and on WhatsApp were all so helpful and it was lovely to speak with local people who were all so genuine and friendly. The delivery guy was really helpful too and carried the replacement flags into my garden for me.

This review relates to the exceptional service I have recently received from the branch in Boroughbridge. As a female, with very little knowledge about building materials, I was initially quite nervous. From the first visit into Myers, I received nothing but kindness and encouragement. My delivery arrived today and the driver was also very polite. Excellent service all round and I hope this review reaches the relevant people.
