Myers Building & Timber Supplies Reviews 

This review relates to the exceptional service I have recently received from the branch in Boroughbridge. As a female, with very little knowledge about building materials, I was initially quite nervous. From the first visit into Myers, I received nothing but kindness and encouragement. My delivery arrived today and the driver was also very polite. Excellent service all round and I hope this review reaches the relevant people.

We ordered Pebbles for our back garden. Yes we had to wait about a week before they were available. They were then delivered with minimum fuss. We discovered we had miscalculated the amount. Myers returned to collect the bulk bag quickly and I received a refund the very next day. Great company. Thankyou.

I had a delivery from the Elland Branch of Myers Building Supplies this morning and the delivery man was called Greg and he was extremely polite and helpful. He unloaded all of the stock off the lorry, carried it down into my garden and put them in a safe and secure area, behind the porch. I came out of the house to speak to him and I thanked him for moving everything for me. I politely asked me to sign his document and gave me a copy.
Based on his service, I would definitely recommend to my friends to use Myers services again. Thank you

Really amazing service from the Boroughbridge front line team of Richard, Andy & Julian - front office and the stock yard team have all gone well above & beyond helping us source the right products for our build.
Can’t believe we haven’t been using Myers before this!

This has been my third order from Myers and I have to say their service is top rate. From dealing with the staff in the yard and the office and this morning the lovely delivery driver. I have found their customer service to be 100%. It is not always easy for them to access my back garden due to a car park at the back. They always go above and beyond to come first thing whilst it’s empty and have top notch equipment to lift it over an 8ft fence to put it exactly where I want it as opposed to what would be an easier option for them. I have had the same high standard of service every time and I cannot recommend them highly enough !

Had to chase for delivery information, told it could be anytime during an afternoon, delivery arrived short, no explanation, no apology, no info to get the missing parts delivered.
How can it be so difficult, never again with Myers.

I've had 3 or 4 deliveries from Myers over the last 5 years and the product and delivery has always been good. Delivery to my home isn't always the easiest, but Andrew the driver has always gone above and beyond to ensure he drops the delivery where I need the items. He's a real asset to Myers.

Excellent service from the Huddersfield branch. I was delighted to pick up a sample of stone to check it was a good match for our drive. Ordered and delivered really quickly. Thanks to Kirsty for all her help.

The delivery driver was fantastic. He managed to squeeze the lorry safely down our drive avoiding multiple obstacles to ensure he got all the stone where I needed it. That will save a huge amount of labour.

Ordered some rock salt, said online that there was loads of stock available. Received an email saying it was ready for collection, when i drove down there in icy conditions, it wasn't there, they had no record of it. Advised me to return next day, I then got a an email saying it was out of stock indefinitely. UPDATE your website and stop messing people around. I get that stock is scarce, but don't mislead customers.

Denby Dale branch-
Just needed a plastic pipe-part for under sink.
The old part I took with me was not available any longer so I struggled to find a replacement amongst the myriad parts they stocked.
Linda was a mine of information and showed me a way to solve the problem.
She really took time to help me.
The part did the job without needing a complete sink trap.
So thank you Linda and also thanks to the man alongside her.

Great prices , and the drivers Carl and Tim are very helpful delivering the goods exactly where I needed them and a really cheerful couple of lads, many thanks for all your assistance, will definitely use Myers again. ….. Brilliant 😊

George from Denny Dale has just delivered our pebbles....what a lovely guy! Five stars aren't enough! He couldn't have done any more and helped my brother and I so much bythe way he dropped them. It has saved me time and backache.

What to say a massive thanks to lots of folk at Myers
Firstly Carl dinen who recently was left all on his own to do the deliveries of two men and did so swiftly and without moan or groan. That day he was like air….everywhere!
Big shout out to batley team!
Super duper zub….if he doesn’t know about it then it doesn’t exist.
Ace rich who has never let me down when arrangements for deliveries where more than just important and the regular updates on quotes…he’s my main go too man.
Little John…great addition to the team after the last guy…pointing no names and saying no fingers but his name was ffar backwards:
Gary and John in the yard…don’t find them like that anymore…true golden oldies.
Also Timothy another experienced drive and knows what he’s doing.
Also the Leeds team, bradders the company man and the others I’ve yet to learn there names!
Little big rich, that guy can buy snow from the Eskimos and sell it back to them straight away.
Craig. Little in stature big in work efficiency and organisation and the rest of the yard lada as well, who just appear out of no where like magic before your even out of your van!
Also Linda at Denby dale branch, armadillo…hard on the outside soft in the middle. And also the rest of the team there who couldn’t do enough for you.
Not forgetting to mention Gary the truck drive, put Thomas the engine driver to shame. Thumbs up to the other drivers there as well.
And lastly all the other lads and ladies I deal with in store or in the phone whose names I don’t know but they know who they are because they definitely remember me!

What more can I say about this company!!! They saved the day when we had been let down by another company and they drove miles out of their way to bring us a few short pieces of skirting board. So helpful and so polite and professional. Would not hesitate to use the branch at Boroughbridge. Thank you so much.

What can I say, from the moment we got out of our car at the Milnsbridge Depot we had a very warm welcome. Inside the store the counter assistants were very helpful in helping us order our new oak doors. To the delivery driver thank you so much. He was very curious and we had a few laughs. I worked here for over a year, as a HGV driver I wouldn’t say it’s the best place I have worked.
There are to many people who want to be in charge and can not communicate with each other. They say there are a family run business but don’t treat you with any respect only thing they care about is sales. They pay isn’t very good, then expect you to do more work such as driver forklifts aswell as drive a hgv and not pay you more.

I have no idea how many of the 5 star reviews are fake accounts but I have been buying on and off from Myers for the past 6 years and I know the quality of their service.

Product wise, they are decent, always more expensive than other retailers but the materials are in good shape, unless it's wood that was kept outside. That will arrive wet and bent and you will have to struggle to explain why that wood can't be used anymore.

When it comes to the quality of service... Myers is almost evil. Fail to pick up their phone for DAYS. The most recent example is what happened to us in the past 2 days. Have been calling the Leeds branch 11 times over 2 days, finally someone picked up and told me that the order was cancelled. Me as customer had to deduct that the order was not actually cancelled, just moved to the Batley branch. Another 2 hours of calling those guys continuously for someone to finally pick up and realising that my order hasn't been even loaded yet.

As I said, the example above it's just one instance, and not the worst by far. Over the years I have been delivered incomplete orders, warped and unusable wood, deliveries delayed by more than a week sometimes, entire days of calling their phone again and again without anyone bothering to answer, all this at a premium price higher than other retailers. But I can't find certain items on other retailers so I had to deal with their incompetence, again and again.

Ordered some sawn sheet timber from Naylors. Ordering and paying on the phone was quick and easy. The material was delivered on my chosen delivery date and it arrived nice and early.
The off-cuts threw me when he arrived, I though he had brought the wrong order lol. I didn't need them so he happily took those back.

I’ve bought loads of the awesome Hampshire gold pea gravel of late and getting to my house isn’t easy for the drivers in a grab wagon but whenever I’ve ordered the staff are truly fabulous always helpful and let me know when delivery will be etc. Truly top class service all round. Highly recommended.

Extremely disappointing service from the new Boroughbridge store, started with the my £2200 order I requested to be delivered not turning up after phoning up it had been put as a collection order which is funny as delivery time had been fully discussed. Agreed to be delivered at 7am the next day as my builder was waiting for the order. Turned up a hour late. The wrong grout was supplied for the porcelain tiles supplied, this had to be returned and as they didn’t stock the grout needed meant a trip to Travis Perkins to obtain the correct grout. 3 of the flags supplied chipped and broken and although my builder called in with photographs of the poor packaging & damaged goods no refund or credit would be given as flags not returned these had been put in the skip as useless. Would definitely think carefully before using this company
