All of a sudden got a notice that they were charging me for a refill and that I had a subscription. I did NOT sign up for this. I emailed them asking to cancel and they replied that they "could not" cancel the order. And despite my email sayimg cancel everything, they said I'd have to contact them to cancel!
This is 1. Unethical and 2. Pretty much a scam!
I called AMEX and they blocked all payments to this company.
Here was the reply:
Thank you so much for trying Laughland, and I’m so sorry for the trouble!
Unfortunately, as this is a subscription order, we are unable to cancel it or process a return for a refund. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Since whitening is a continuous process, much like skincare, we recommend staying on for another refill or two to see even stronger, gradual results. Deep stains from acidic foods and drinks, which go beyond the enamel into the dentin, may require multiple cycles to whiten compared to surface-level stains that can be treated in just a week.
We want to help you see consistent progress, so we’d love to offer you:
50% off your next refill with a complimentary To-go pen.
Would a 2, 3 or 6 months order frequency suit you better?
Please let us know and we will update it for you. If you’d still like to cancel your subscription linked to XXXXX just give us a heads-up at least 5 days before your next order is processed, and we’ll make sure to cancel it to avoid any further charges.
Thank you so much for being a valued customer! We look forward to hearing from you soon :)
Warmly,
