Wendy Hewstone, now of Nexa Law but previously Access Law then Footner & Ewing, has been our retained solicitor for circa 15 years. She is always on hand to offer advice on our property transactions and works efficiently and competently. Wendy always forwards on responses from the other side immediately so we can get purchases/sales done quickly; we managed a house sale in 7 weeks from offer to completion in 2024 thanks to Wendy's organisation. In our most recent property sale, where we were dealing with an unhelpful 'factory conveyancer' on the other side (who were ignoring all emails relating to an impending exchange of contracts), Wendy even took the paperwork with her on holiday just in case the 'factory' rabble suddenly bothered to get in touch to exchange (they didn't for another 5 days, but it shows that Wendy goes above and beyond, and was expecting the unexpected). Highly recommended.

I think the process of selling a home is complicated under the English law, e.g., that when a buyer agrees to buy your home it is not guaranteed until the contracts have actually been exchanged, which can be months of worry about this falling through. However, the staff above liaised closely with myself & everyone involved in the process of selling & buying a house to ensure that all of the steps were completed asap & constantly kept me informed.

Really poor experience. I wish my experience replicated the 4.8 stars that they have. I had to check everything they did every step of the way. If I hadn’t had stepped in numerous times we would have contracts with our incorrect names on, mortgage costs of over £2,000 which weren’t needed. All the work was done by a pretty incompetent PA to a solicitor, giving us 48 hours before completion to check their work. I complained and was told everything about my experience is normal, it’s my job to check what they do.
Had I not been vigilant, I would now be facing an invalid contract, a delayed or failed chain, and a financial loss running into the thousands. To be completely honest, I am worried there are further mistakes within our file that I don’t have the skill set or knowledge to question or understand. There is a level of trust we should have as a client that unfortunately I just continue to lack with your firm.

A huge thank you to Jayne and Rebecca at Nexa Law. They made my first buying experience a simple and easy process. Constant communication was provided and I was never left in the dark. Everything was explained to me clearly and I was always made to feel like I was fully involved and my say mattered. I would hugely recommend anyone to use them.
