Novacare acted with great sensitivity and professionalism throughout the process of organising and undertaking what was a less than straight forward assessment. All involved were kept informed and it was clear that Novacare were centered on ensuring that the assessment was not only thorough but carried out with understanding and care for the individual.

After booking our appointment, Gary visited the home of my Mother and I at the exact time arranged - even driving from Portsmouth on the day. Hugely appreciated.

Gary from Novacare came to our house to do an assessment. He was professional, calm and attentive and took all the time that was needed. The report that followed was thorough, with recommendations for next steps,treatments and therapies. I would have no worries in contacting him again for more advice and support.

I came across NovaCare Consultants after spending hours searching for Mental Health and Community Care solicitors with expertise in Section 117 Aftercare.

One evening in November 2025, I called them, and Gary Spencer‑Humphrey answered the phone.
At that point, I felt completely overwhelmed — unheard, unsupported, and running out of options. I must have sounded like someone in real distress, yet Gary took the time to listen carefully and offer clear, thoughtful advice. By the end of the call, I felt reassured, informed, and, for the first time in a long while, hopeful.

From the moment I started talking to Gary, I felt I was in good hands. Cost, timeframe and work scope were all clearly explained and the response time for all aspects of the work (from initial enquiry to completion) was outstanding. Of the 3 people/companies that I spoke to, Nova Care was by far the most reassuring. The final work was not only done at the most competitive rate, but more than 4 times faster.

My mother's house sale was at risk of falling through, or 4 months' delay due to the solicitor's uncertainty over my mother's mental capacity. Close to Christmas, we wanted to know either way so we could plan and inform the buyer.

Having previously used Nova care I contacted them again for a mental capacity assessment. We wanted to use a service we trusted and they were able to travel a distance and act quickly to fulfil our request.

Yet again I found the level of service to be exceptionally high. My Mother was interviewed alone and she felt very comfortable with the process.

The report was very honest, detailed and gave the solicitors the information in the legal format they needed to confirm my mother's capacity. I have no doubt that if she had not had capacity the report would have been equally fair. The expertise and knowledge of the social workers cannot be faulted.

I would highly recommend them, and wouldn't think twice about using them again.

As a Social Worker myself, who also completes COP3 assessments and documentation, I found the attention to detail was just right and the assessor, Mr Gary Spencer-Humphrey, captured the right information about my daughter during her assessment.
