previously when ordering on line delivery would be within 24-48 hrs as still advertised the past year orders have taken up to 2 weeks. I waste a lot of time chasing these. when you get somone on chat they all say sorry it is warehouse issues and that the delivery will be with you in 72 hrs, several days later when still no delivery they say the same thing. They have said warehouse issues for the past year they should have sorted those issues by now & stop promising deliveries that they are not sending.
Received USED item instead of new & difficult to return.
I purchased an office chair and received a used "open box" item with parts missing. I called their parts depot and was told the missing parts were backordered 10 weeks. I therefore demanded an immediate return or replacement, insisting that OfficeDepot come and pick up the faulty item from my house at their expense. Why should I use my time and gas to drive to another city to find some brick and mortar when the purchase was made on officedepot.com? Um, excuse me? What exactly do you think e-commerce is? You expect the customer to incur expense and hassle when it is YOUR mistake? Seriously?
When I make a purchase on officedepot.com, I expect it to be for a NEW item. If it is USED or OPEN BOX, you must state so clearly. There was absolutely nothing on your advertised listing page to indicate that I was purchasing anything other than a new item.
I have had to make 3 phone calls in all over this return/exchange. The chair was returned almost a week ago, and I still have not received a refund. How long does it take? Where is my money?

Poor Online Order Fulfilment
I used to work for OfficeDepot, so I have some insider knowledge of the issues with the company, and know just how little the corporate HQ does to fix anything.
I am writing this after having my online order declined for the 2nd time. I work for a contractor and I'm trying to source a WiFi bridge as a temporary solution for a commercial customer. OfficeDepot understaffs it's stores to the point where correct inventory maintenance is IMPOSSIBLE. As such, both stores I've tried so far have declined the order as they are out of stock, despite the website (and therefore their store on-hand system) saying they had it. This is also partially due to "good faith receiving" that the store does. They don't count the inventory that comes in, because it's assumed to be correct. So if the warehouse misses an item, or if a pallet is loaded wrong, the store will have no idea.
Then, I get a text from OfficeDepot saying a manager will call me about my order. THIS IS A LIE. OfficeDepot doesn't train managers to do this, and even if it did, they are usually too busy trying to put up a truck or help in CPD to make all those calls. OfficeDepot could easily send us a link or a text to suggest an alternate fulfilment option (another store, delivery, etc...), but can't be bothered to implement something like that.
OfficeDepot is hanging on by a thread while they work to sell the company to staples. So don't expect anything to improve. OfficeDepot corporate just wants to do the bare minimum until it becomes somebody else's problem. So please don't be mad at Store Staff - it's not their fault. Vent your frustration at corporate - it won't do anything of course, but at least you'll be speaking to the correct people.
The online order "15 minute" promise is another one of the reasons for these. When we had 1 hour (when I first started working there) to get these done, we had time to call other stores, or the customer, etc... to try and keep order fulfilment high. Then they switched to the 15 minute pickup WITHOUT investing the appropriate resources to pay for it (aka more associate hours for online order fulfilment) and suddenly, they can't do that! There's not enough time. So they just decline the order and move on. Can't blame them. If an order goes past 15 minutes without being filled or declined they get penalized. So, ironically, the 15 minute pickup guarantee actually made the service worse. But, of course, corporate is too stupid to understand that.
This is why I usually order directly from Ubiquiti, Newegg or Amazon. OfficeDepot is just too unreliable and isn't going to change. If this order gets declined, I will walk into a BestBuy instead.
No free shipping to store for pick up

The staff at the store in Ellisville is nice and understaffed, as evidenced by refusal to answer their phones.
The staff at the store in Ellisville, MO was nice, though sparse. There is not an Office Depot in the entire St. Louis area that answers its phones, and the flagship website does not answer its phone. I have a piece of furniture that I, unfortunately, left there for assembly. If I knew they would leave me in the dark, I would have assembled it myself. The $15 assembly fee is not worth the mystery. Costumer service since Covid is lower than I have ever experienced in my lifetime, and the tell-tale signs of a culture in decline are everywhere, including at Office Depot.
Speedy delivery (of the wrong item)
Ordered a Lenovo laptop and got same day free delivery for the Christmas holiday. Instead 2 Dell monitors were delivered. Called customer service and they ordered a new one for me but I had to wait several days for delivery now or go to store to pick up. Was double charged for the laptop. 2 calls to customer service (and waiting on hold excessively each time) and 7 days later still waiting for my card to be credited for the double charge. Funny how the card gets charged right away but takes so long to credit the card.
I purchased a laptop and never got the bundle
I purchased a laptop and was pressured into the bundle for $250. After 3 weeks of trying to deal with the failure of tech support to get the purchased items installed, I took it into the store so they could do it. almost 1 week later i was told that because it was so long after the purchase date, they were having trouble with the McAfee subscription. So now the trial is about to expire, and I will probably have to pay for it again. I have tried everything I can think of. Bit of advice, NEVER BUY THE BUNDLE. The laptop is awesome. I love it.
If you need customer support - expect Overseas Incompetence!
If you make the mistake of signing up for a subscription (discount) be warned that they NEVER send you an email ahead of time to warn you of an upcoming charge/delivery. They just start the delivery process before you can even cancel.
We had to refuse the shipment from UPS, but they still billed us. And all support is either non-existent (on the phone) or chat support from overseas using a script. They use two American first names to create fake names for themselves for chat - Like Stanley Joseph (just one example of many) - yet they are ALL overseas and won't give out their real names. Then, trying to get a credit is near impossible - they wanted to hold onto some of the charge for "delivery charges". Are you kidding me???
No wonder so many companies are in the toilet - no one cares about the customers and they keep using foreign support that doesn't understand and can't have a normal conversation with a frustrated customer. Why would they care? They are thousands of miles away and will never lose their job.

He has such a great attitude, character, and personality! Really appreciate his help and his absolute 150% customer service quality!!! He treated everyone with respect and care. Would give a 0 (zero) if possible. We purchased 6 products costing over $1700. After we put together one bookcase, we noticed numerous scratches in the wood, which we know we did not put there while assembling. We then noticed some dents, scratches and discoloration in some of the other products, as well as issues with hardware. Tried to live chat, call and text to talk with no success: terminal hold or not fitting their generic categories. Do not buy from this store if you expect customer support!

Online Order Experience
I called and placed an online order on 11-10-2022. Somehow the billing address and my shipping address was a problem. I spent over hours speaking with representatives and a supervisor but no-one was able to resolve the issue on my account. Some how they had the physical address of the local in Grande Prairie, Texas. The last representative cancelled my order and said I asked her to do it which was not true. These people are so eager to do whatever they want on your account that listing to the customer isn't a thought for them to do in trying to resolve a problem. I was told there's no price match or discount for the ring spotlight (hardwired) which I had received initially. I was told that there was no supervisor to speak with me and no-one would be available until 12 hours later. I would give the customer service zero stars but the system require me to give them a t least one star. Noone seem to care about resolving my issue. Honestly they could careless based on their attitude and behavior. I had my credit card representative from the bank to speak with the representative and inform her that it's not an issue on the banks part. The representative didn't listen to anything I was saying. Now she have cancelled my order and tried to make it seem like it was my fault. Honestly, this is horrible customer service or lack there of. This totally lacks something to be desired. Where is the supervisor? The closer it was the time got to 8pm for them to get off they were even less helpful if you can imagine it.During this time no supervisor could be found per the representative. This really makes no sense. I had to call the Office Depot in Texas to try and get assistance. I was informed that with the updated address change the order should go through. The representative also stated that she hated to say that it was an employee/staff problem and they probably didn't want to help me. Its a shame that this is the type or lack of service that I have been subjected to by this establishment. Shame on Office Depot for not being responsive in resolving customer issues. If this is the best help they can employ, they would be better off just allowing customer to purchase things online and not deal with the poor customer service which truly makes them look HORRIBLE!!! BEWARE!!! Go some place else to purchase your items, where you will be valued and respected as a customer!!! Please remember when a company and their employees treat you disrespectfully then just SPEND your MONEY with their competitor who values and respects you!!! They will wish that they created you better, once the store closes and they are out of a job!! Oh by the way I asked them not to save my credit card and they cancelled one order and resubmitted it again without asking for my credit card information. INCREDIBLE!!!

I need an laptop purchase quickly do to leaving state shortly. I seen one i liked explained situation. They said it would be delivered in 2 to 3 days, so i purchased the laptop. On the 4th day got an email stating the laptop I purchased was discontinued in stores and is on back order. That ment it wouldn't be in in time. Went back to store to cancel that laptop order. to purchase a laptop that was on hand there or elsewhere. They wouldn't give my money because I paid with my debit card. Said the company wouldn't charge me until they shiped it. Showed man my bank account statement that they had already taken the money out of my account. The man said now that the order was canceled the money would be back in my account in 48 hours. It didn't. So called corporate. They said I would get my money in 3 to 5 business days. 8th day still no money back. So called corporate again. Was told it was in process and will mail me a check. It will take 3 weeks to get my check. I have a feeling they will never give me my money back. Talking to a layer.

I’ll never buy from the again. Ordered two $800 desks and we never received a confirmation #. 10 days later we call to get an update on the shipping. They tell us they were waiting on US to call them about the shipping and they don’t know where it’s at.

I purchased an item (blank checks) 8/18, Shortly after I purchased the checks, I found out I was getting scammed and it wasn’t a real job. Around the same time I had a doctors appointment, And due to finding within
that doctors appointment, had to have a last minute major surgery (I’m still recovering from 9/12). As a mother of four and I have already been out of work due to health, that $25 I Desperately needed. I have never met such heartless people in my life! I pleaded with these so-called customer service people, I let her know my situation how I had absolutely no money and I needed that money for a little gas and for some groceries so I can make dinner tonight for my kids. When I do recover and financially get back on my feet, I will NEVER support this business, and I will make sure I let everyone else know as well. This whole situation has really broke my heart. I just cannot believe the carelessness in that place. How can you look at someone in the face while their eyes feel up with tear and still smile at them while giving back the items.

*********Update: They got delivery service to find my order and re-deliver******** Usually get good service and fast delivery on orders. I think they may have changed shippers. Received email from Office Depot that my orders were delivered. Unfortunately, they were not delivered here and no one knows where they are. They were left at the loading dock, except we don't have a loading dock and neither do our neighbors. Both chat and phone are answered by an automated system that tell you your order was delivered. Hard to finally reach a real person and explain problem. We'll see if the re-shipment shows up.
