We wanted a SOG II installed in our Adria and so we arranged to bring our motorhome to Outdoor Bits yesterday. David was friendly, efficient and helpful, and we are really pleased with the fitting. The work was all done within the time given, and we had a great, if slightly wet, walk to and on the beach with our dogs while the SOG II was being installed. Thank you for great service.

I took my motorhome to Outdoor Bits to have a proce quoted for a new gas regulator. The manager looked at my system and quoted approximately £80 for the supply and fitting of the new regulator plus he said it would take about 30 minutes to fit. On the day, it took 3 hours of waiting with a final bill of £240. This is because he had quoted for the wrong regulator plus it took an hour and a half for fitting. He didn't seem concerned at all that the bill was 3 times the amount that was originally quoted. Don't go here if you expect good service!!

Great service and lots of useful tips and explanations. Like many things if you have a good initial experience, you will go back. I certainly will be using them when my warranty runs out.

Outdoor Bits.I have been going to David for a number of years now. It's a 160 mile round trip and there are Motorhome services centres within 10 miles of my home. This alone should indicate the respect In which I hold him and the rest of his team! David is experienced and extremely thorough with all aspects of his work.

I have no reservations at all about recommending Outdoor Bits to any other motorhome owners!!

Just had my annual habitation check completed on my motorhome. I have used ‘Outdoor Bits’ for several of these checks over past years and remain very pleased with the great service provided. OK, like many others, I’ve occasionally strayed and tried other providers but never been over enamoured by the experiences.
With David’s workshop you get much more than a ‘tick list’ of checks done. You’ll get issues highlighted and explained. Things fixed where practical. Recommendations, advice and suggestions made in a friendly and helpful manner. Proper service!
I’d have given them 5 stars today but, unfortunately, there were one or two items that he didn’t have ‘in stock’ so, I’ve got to do a bit of chasing of items for myself. Bah humbug! 😊

Quality work at a great price. The work was done with great care and we were treated like valued customers from the start.

I was worried initially, as I didn’t get any reply to email enquiries and got no answer on either phone number after trying for several days
However once Sarah did respond everything happened as it should and my exchange was quickly organised

Having looked at previous reviews about Outdoor Bits I wondered should I place an order or not however as they seemed to have a good web site and competitive prices I telephoned, spoke to Dave to discuss what I wanted to purchase.
( Motorhome garage storage shelving) David was very helpful due to his knowledge of the product I placed a order with a promise of next day delivery. All items arrived the following day. I did have a technical query which I emailed to them and this received a quick reply( Answered by David and Sarah)
I would have no hesitation in recommending Outdoor Bits for the service they provided.
I would finish this review by stating if your not sure of exactly what you want make sure by speaking to the contact at Outdoor bits who will confirm exactly what you are ordering and is what you require.

Absolutely brilliant firm to deal with. I travel 140 miles to them as they are first class engineers, nothing is too much trouble for them and their work is top notch.

Ordered gaslow kit almost 2 weeks ago. Despite 1-3 days delivery time we have not received the goods. We have tried emailing, phoning and messaging on facebook but they do not pick up the phone or answer the emails nor phone you back. Also the 0845 number is chargeable. Would not recommend this company and will not being using them again. However I would still like the paid for parts but will have to wait 30 days to see if they actually deliver prior to taking it further

I am very disappointed and annoyed with “Outdoor Bits” and will never use this company again.
Their Website might at first glance look impressive but it has many Errors and Glitches including fabricated dispatch times and stock levels.
Their staff need basic training in Customer Service.

I wanted a gas Regulator sent out to Greece. I found it on the WebSite put it in my “Basket” and went to the “Checkout”, the Shipping cost was £6 ish for the UK and when I changed the delivery address to Greece the cost changed to £12.50. I thought that was ok and went ahead with my purchase. Nothing happened for 2 days and the Order stayed “Pending”

I wrote to them and asked why the order was pending and was told that they couldn’t ship to Greece for £12.50, the new cost would be another £7.20 bringing the total cost of delivery to £19.20. It would have been nice if they had contacted me to tell me this, not waited till I contacted them.
I needed the Reg. So agreed to pay the extra.

Another 2 days past and my order was still “Pending”
I contacted them again only to be told that the Goods have to come from another warehouse and until they arrive at their location they can’t send them out….Oh but if I want to pay £37 I can have them dispatched from this “other warehouse”
If I want to wait (for some time) I can still have them delivered for £19.20.

I was treated like the sale didn’t matter to them, their staff are totally belligerent and unconcerned as to weather you buy from them or not.
All it would have taken is for a member of staff to explain the situation and apologise for the inconvenience.

I then received an Email to say that they were cancelling the order because they didn’t want me as a customer.
I have to say that I have never had such a bad retail experience.

I found the Regulator I wanted on Ebay and had no problems buying it. The delivery was just £16 to Greece.

If you can find the goods you require somewhere else, my advice is do NOT spend your money with OUTDOOR Bits

All you have done by responding to my review is agree with me that your Website has many problems that you openly admit you don’t think are worth your while or money to fix but you seem to be quite happy to take peoples money knowing that your company has no intentions on following through on the order !!
Would you not agree that this is bad business practice?

You have tried to suggest that, me not being able to pay by Paypal was in some way my fault.
When in fact the fault was again your Website not connecting with the Paypal server.

After it was established that you could not send some items the order was cancelled and refunded, what a waste of everyone’s time that was.

The second order was again excepted by your Website at a shipping cost to Greece of £12.50. You seem to agree with me that this was incorrect.

After the “delay” you mention and me being informed of the increased cost (which I excepted) and then a further delay, I was informed that the goods could not be sent out as they were on order from another warehouse but if I wanted them delivered from there the cost had now risen to £37.04

At this point I would have waited but you decided that it was too much trouble to deal with this and cancelled my order.
What bad customer service you give.
I think your response has just shown that what I have reported is true and you should leave it there.

Beware - two things you need to know. Firstly I placed a large order with these guys on a Monday morning via their website. Was getting a bit fed up that I didn't have a delivery date by Thursday so gave then a call and was told they were hoping to dispatch the item the following day and it might be with me by Monday!! They were quick enough to take my money!
Final insult - just got my mobile phone bill and found out that my 8 minute call to chase my order cost £4.11!!!!!! SO not only do they not dispatch orders on time but when you ring up to complain they charge you a small fortune!! Bad customer service, bad business.

Having had reasonable contact as to the suitability of an item I ordered it. My money was taken then nothing. Tried phoning but continuous 'wait for next etc.'. Tried contact via website and got an email saying a ticket had been raised then nothing. I now have no idea what is happening as, having taken my money, they have become unreachable. I simply want what I ordered but am dealing with an organisation that ignores me!
It turns out that there was a very good reason for the delays which resulted in a small company struggling for a period. See if the goods turn up but I think they will.

I contacted the outdoor bits guys to be told they didn't stock the parts I needed but would sort it out, this was one afternoon. The following morning about 9.30 the same was delivered to my door. What can I say? Mmm. It can only be WOW. With a big thank you, guess I'll be back soon.
