This review is both for Payment Assist and Halfords. I took my car to Halfords Autocentre in Wallington (comes as Croydon) for an MOT. The car failed on front brake pads and passenger side anti roll link. The garage promised to give me a quote for the MOT failure repair costs. The garage called me 45 minutes before closing time to sign the agreement with Payment Assist to get my car back. Next day when I realised that I was overcharged for the MOT failure rectification and also charged for brake discs (advisory) and drivers side anti roll link (not faulty). Despite numerous email correspondence both Companies are avoiding the issue of overcharging (their charge was higher than the main dealer quote when the car was last serviced, and ChatGpt results clearly show a “Ripoff”) and ignoring the charges for work not required for the car to pass the MOT.

This is a response to the Payment Assist reply - You all failing all the time to address the charges to relating to the work done on the brake discs and driver’s side anti roll link. This was not a requirement for the car to pass the MOT. Please explain why an alternative quote from another garage will help to resolve the issue, when the repair was not needed in the first instance. I think this is a tactic used by Halfords to absorb their fixed labour cost in to repair works that are neither needed or authorised . I am in breach of my Consumer Rights Act 2015, and the responsibility lies with your Company as the finance provider to the agreement.

I suddenly had a big bill for my car repairs I could not afford to pay at once. The garage offered me the Payment assist option. It was so easy and quick to follow their the instructions from their link and spread the payments in four months. Great relief

It was really quick and easy also very convenient. Most of all it helps to spread the cost so that you can concentrate on other things. I recommend to anyone 5/5

I needed brake pads amd discs for my car but couldnt afford it then payment assist helped me spread the cost 4 monthly payments so i got the job done

Pay assist was a great option for me as the bill was alot higher than I had budgeted for. This option was easy to set up and the payments were within my budget. Thank you for allowing me to use this option and getting my car back on the road and me indepent again. Would totally recommend this option for repairs that you didn't know were coming
