Really lovely team. Worked with me to create a unique specially designed menu for my partner's birthday. Would recommend highly.

I used Julia last year to cater for a family party for 95 people and we wanted a relaxed informal event. We had sharing platters and bowls rather than a table service and this worked really well for us.

We mainly had middle eastern style food but Julia was happy to accommodate some of our own ideas as well - there was plenty of food and it was delicious!

We had planned to do the bar ourselves but we wanted to relax as it was our party at the end of the day, so we got Julia to run the bar for us as well.

Overall I would say I was very happy with the event and communication with Julia was always very swift and professional. Her staff were personable and nothing was too much trouble.

I used Purple plum for my fathers funeral. It was a large event of about 120. Julia was wonderful; extremely attentive and thoughtful. She new exactly what was required and did it in a very thoughtful, considerate and friendly way.
On the day she was standing at the door to great everyone and pointed them to the drinks tables. The food (a buffet) was of a very high quality and got many complimentary comments both during and after the event. Given the uncertainty as to numbers Julia copied extremely well. The price was modest (my daughter works in the industry and is a good judge). I am was impressed with the service provided and would highly recommend this friendly company. Thank you - you helped turn a difficult day into a really wonderful one

My wife chose Purple Plum Catering for our wedding celebration in May 2018 and we were disappointed with the outcome. Meetings to discuss arrangements were cancelled at short notice and communication was poor before the event. On the day the proprietor, Julia, didn't even turn up and the whole affair was delegated. In fairness to the guy who was on the spot, he did well, but the service and the food failed to meet expectations and there was absolutely no contact afterwards to see if we were satisfied. In retrospect, I should have seen it coming when she demanded payment in full prior to the event. I've no doubt that they can do a great job when they want to and the reviews on here would back that up, but they don't always and my advice would be to withhold the fee until you've had the service.

Tony and I would just like to extend our thanks and gratitude to you and your team for helping make our Blessing on 4 August 2018 the tremendous success it was. We had such a memorable and enjoyable day and the feedback we received from all our guests in respect of the food on day was so positive. Tony thought the fish finger sarnies and the Welsh cakes were a real surprise and something to die for! It was a real pleasure to work with you in the period leading up to the day of the blessing and on the day itself and I cannot recommend you highly enough for the exceptional service you provided.

Delicious canapés at a very competitive price. Julia was great at fitting around our requirements and always easy to get in touch with. Would definitely recommend to all those looking to cater for an event.

Professional company that offers good value for money and keeps their promises

Fabulous food and a great event, everything ran so smoothly for an amazing corporate event at West Lexham, everyone really enjoyed thew weekend.

We had such an enjoyable evening. Julia and team were very friendly, enthusiastic and helpful from our initial enquiry through to the three course dinner they cooked and served for myself and our guests. We were very happy to have them in our home and they were very thoughtful and tidied up beautifully. The salmon main course was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful food served in a really lovely way, nice colours and crockery. Julia was so helpful in every way. Great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Will definitely be using again!

Julia and her team, did an amazing job catering our Christmas Party Weekend at Pettitstree house. The lasange and lentil curry went down a storm on the Friday and the 3 course Dinner Saturday ticked all the boxes with some very tough customers!.
