As a landlord I used Quantum for lettings for approximately 5 years. As other reviews have said, in the beginning everything was good but over time it deteriorated and became complacent. As I ended renting out my property Quantum just became unpleasant and unhelpful which showed their true colours. They are a small firm and that’s how they operate, but there are other estate agents with a better reputation and customer service. If you are involved with them, when the emails start taking longer to reply, services take longer to get provided, and charges are made for trades without prior notice (leaving you with no rental income that month) I would suggest moving on from them. I would also advise that going into agreement with them that you negotiate your own cleaning service after tenants have left. On this occasion it was nearly three weeks before Quantum appointed cleaners attended and still the property had to be cleaned again.

My wife and I moved into a property through quantum and found them extremely helpful at first, a couple of years later I found them to be extremely unpleasant and at the end completely horrible. When we first moved in, we worked with a lady called Deana, she was most helpful and always had the time for us. Anyway a few years down the line and Deana was no longer our point of call with any issues. We were working with a lady called Emma, well where do I start. When we were informed that our heater was been replaced, we was like ok heating would be great as its new, well the heating was great, but the way the guy fitting the heater left my property was appalling. When we returned home from a day out to leave the guy in peace to replace our heater we found our sofa in the middle of the living room, our shoes from the front door slung in the living room and left over tiles from the old heater all over the kitchen and garden where my 10 month old child would crawl. When I rang to Emma from quantum about this let’s just say I've never had anyone speak to me like that before or tell me my child can’t go where she would like too. Anyway, after back-and-forth chat and getting nowhere I asked to speak to the manager. Well Hazel the estate manager was no better, she explained that the heater guy left our house in the way he did as that's the world we live in these days. When I responded with shall I come to your office, move your furniture and leave it a mess, I was answered with you can’t do that. A bit hypocritical if you ask me if a builder can do it but I can’t. Anyway a few years later when my wife and I were moving out of the property, well let’s say it started nice but soon took a turn for the worst. When talking back and forth regarding our deposit, we really couldn't get a word in edge ways to a point where they demanded the cleaning companies name and number (we paid a cleaning company to clean the house before finally moving out) We then received a call from the cleaning company to say they have never been spoken to in all their time as a cleaning company. Apparently the cleaning company had done a terrible job and shouldn’t be cleaning is what I was told was said to the manager from Emma. Anyway, finally after moving out of the property and chasing for what seems like an eternity to get a figure back from our deposit, we finally got an answer. Let’s just say I won’t be using or recommending quantum to anyone.

We used Quantum to sell my mums house and were extremely happy with the service we recieved. Adele and Rachel were very easy to deal with and kept us in the loop at all time. We would recommend them without hesitation.

I loved the property I rented from Quantum, but had some negative experiences with the staff. A request for a key to a fire exit was ignored for 2 years, despite many attempts. I also received emails from a staff member called Hazel which were very haughty and accusatory in tone, completely unnecessary. I was accused of having a pet, which I do not. A chunk of my deposit was demanded for cleaning services, despite the fact that I had spent days cleaning the property. This was asked of me with no information as to why so much money was being taken from my deposit. When I emailed to ask for the reason (surely anyone would want to know why they were being charged so much money) I was again met with negative emails from Hazel. When there was a leak at the property caused by the heavy rainfall, the plumber that came round to fix it took photos of my property sneakily without my permission and reported them back to Hazel, who then emailed me in a very officious tone. When I asked why photographs had been taken within my home without my permission (my partner was in at the time and could have been asked), Hazel informed me that she had told the plumber to take the photos. I found this to be out of order. Other staff members who I dealt with in my time at the property, such as Keith, were lovely and very helpful. It's very sad that my time there had to end so negatively, there is no need to send emails that are so negative and accusatory. I have been a very good tenant, paid for things out of my own money and looked after the property. I have rented for years with other agencies and never had an issue like this previously. I had a very happy time at that property, but have been left with a very bitter taste in my mouth because of one individual, and I am out of pocket.

I desperately needed to find some accommodation and spotted a property to rent on their site. I sent 2 or 3 emails and left 2 voicemails but got no response - not even a message to say it had been let.

Excellent estate agency with competitive rates. Having to sell a much loved family home is often a difficult and emotional process however this was made much easier because of the friendly, professional service the team provided. The whole selling process was completed in around three months which I felt very speedy given the current market situation and restrictions. I was always greeted by great staff who clearly knew their business well. I would personally recommend this company and would use again.

I was informed by a friend about a property for sale in the popular Bishopthorpe neighbourhood, York. The property was not listed on any website so I contacted Quantum estate agency York via email and enquired about it regarding prices pictures/videos, etc.
Nobody from this company replied my email message. As a result I have gone elsewhere and seen other properties that are of interest to my wife and I in this neighbourhood that we want to live in.
Be aware and beware. AVOID this estate agent at all costs!
