Made an appointment about a week ago to view a little bungalow, turned up a few minutes early, waited 10 to 15 minutes, nobody from Ridgeway turned up or bothered to call me. I called them, eventually I was told an ‘urgent’ response had been requested, another 15 minutes, nothing, I called and cancelled the viewing, what a waste of my time and terrible service, very disappointing from what I thought was a reputable company.

We rented The Old Packhorse Inn, Ampney St Peter up to 2023 through Ridgeway, which sadly turned out to be one of the most extraordinary and appalling experiences of our lives, resulting in preparing a claim for significant damages from the landlord, and a formal complaint against Ridgeway to the TPO.

Update re Ridgeway response.
As I’m sure most people are aware, the TDS (tenancy deposit scheme) exists purely to protect tenants deposits. On this occasion the TDS is being utilised to facilitate the return of our deposit which has been unlawfully retained in its entirety against an ever changing and entirely fabricated list of claims. As we have written evidence that these claims are fabricated, we are delighted that the TDS are able to support us in this matter. Anyone interested in renting the Old Packhorse Inn, Ampney St Peter should proceed with caution as it seems neither the Landlord or the agent feel much obligation toward their basic legal responsibilities as defined in the AST contract and bound in UK law. Claiming that we have been ‘reported’ to the TDS as if it were a body that polices the behaviour of tenants is a truly bizarre response, and another indication of how Ridgeway operate. I do feel very sorry for tenants who do not have the means to defend themselves against outfits like this.
**UPDATE - delighted to share that after a 5-mth process handled by the TDS, the adjudicator has finally ordered Ian and Myra Bye & Ridgeway to return our deposit ***
