We purchased our motorhome from this company and had a positive experience, but our experience in selling has been quite different. We agreed that River Motorhomes would sell the van on our behalf for a fixed percentage. The sales person forgot to tell us when the van actually sold and then when the considerable amount of money was due to us for payment it was not received and we are now three days later, multiple emails and several calls and we still do not have our money. I left a message for the Birmingham branch manager to call me to deal with my complaint and he failed to return my call.
Treat with caution I would say.

We have been to River motorhomes today for our habitation check and a few other things. We need to thank Matt for all his professionalism and advice. He has done exceptional work on our pride and joy and completed all the jobs required. We will certainly be back next year !!!

I hired a camper van from River Motor Homes for a holiday with my 6-year-old, and the service I received was outstanding. The office staff were incredibly helpful from start to finish.

I had an issue one evening due to my own lack of knowledge, and even at 8pm on a Friday night they called me back within five minutes, which I thought was amazing customer service.

The camper van itself was excellent and made our holiday even more enjoyable. We had a fantastic trip, and I was very impressed with the whole experience.

I am very happy with River Motor Homes and will definitely use them again.

We DO NOT recommend River. Usual thing, they have your money and then you are of no interest to them. Within days of our purchase the fridge broke. They told us (we didn’t ask) that they would replace the fridge. They ordered one, we drive from North Wales to Sutton, to find it didn’t fit. Over 12 months later, we have never received a fridge. They were to replace our floor and it was booked in several times and we stayed for over a month on campsites near their Stratford site but they failed to find the material or an engineer to sort the problem. Their communication is non existence. Luckily we kept every conversation and email documented. They lied constantly, contradicted each other and criticised each other - obviously VERY unprofessional. We really wished we’d never dealt with them!!!! They don’t deserve 1 star!!

Despite some initial issues which resulted in us making a complaint, River Motorhomes went above and beyond to resolve our issue when we purchased a motorhome from them. We couldn’t be anymore pleased with the customer service we received from them in the end. They collected us from the local train station, ran through the operation of our new motorhome. When we got home one of the wheel trims had come off, so we let them know and they sent us a new set the next day. Big thanks to Barry, Nicky, Tim and James for picking us up.

Would give zero stars if could. Delays in leaving due to rear camera not being connected & mechanic had to take dash apart top resolve. A previous hire had caused damage to the vehicle & it clearly had not been checked properly before going out again. The biggest issue was the leisure battery which was dead & we were assured it would charge in use (it didn't). This resulted in a very cold first night & having to adjust plans to be on a hook up every night. Bathroom door handle faulty couldn't shut door, side door faulty couldn't pin open, grill didn't work, ad blue flap wouldn't close, trims falling off plus many other issues. Accused initially of damaging a side door which we eventually had confirmation back that it wasn't our fault from owner. Vehicle had 4000 miles on clock which indicated it was almost new but site history says its been on 24 lets, its a 22 plate so the mileage doesn't tally. Owner offered half price on future rental or credit for issues. We have followed this up, he does not answer calls or reply to e-mails. Two months on still haven't resolved avoid River motorhomes for hire.

Just purchased a new Pilote Motorhome from River motorhomes Hereford .This is our fourth brand new Motorhome , the total buying experience from beginning to end was amazing , having also purchased many new cars in the past ,none have come any where near this very high level of customer service . John his wife Michelle his very helpful friendly team Laura Chris and Andy couldn’t have done more …..
They don’t operate a “ high pressure atmosphere “ but allow plenty of time to consider all the information.
Very pleased with the part exchange deal .

Before contemplating writing a review we’ve given River Motorhomes many chances to remedy the issues but to no avail. On the sales particulars it stated the purchased motorhome would have a full service but this was not carried out. The filters on the motorhome were the originals and we were promised we’d be reimbursed for monies spent to carry out the advertised service guaranteed but to date this hasn’t been honoured. Also the promised works needed on the motorhome such as the front skylight replacement to make it fit for purpose have not been honoured. We’re looking at requesting a chargeback with our bank as calls and emails fall upon deaf ears! We most certainly wouldn’t recommend them to anyone thinking of purchasing a motorhome and we’ll be giving them a miss at the Caravan and Motorhome show at the NEC in the near future!

River Motorhomes sold us a second hand Autotrail back in January 2023. The vehicle was not ready for collection even after a month of paying a deposit. Even when we paid in full the vehicle was still not ready and was told to take it away and snag it. Numerous faults and issues were noted, included damage that wasn’t there when we viewed it. The vehicle has been back to River Motorhomes on numerous occasions after breaking down on every trip we took in the first year. Thankfully, we had own recovery insurance in place. Since then the vehicle has still continued to have faults which has resulted in us paying out a lot of money in excess of £1,000 to get to the bottom of the electrical fault alone. Even now, it is still not at the standard it was promised and we have been left with a damaged leaking roof which was caused by them and only a strip of tape has been used to repair the entire length of the roof. They would not refund or replace and continue to not reply to any correspondence. Very poor customer service, untrustworthy and incompetent service teams and dishonest management.

Collected our new motorhome from the Hereford branch today.
Great service with great prices. No pushy salesmen and lots of choice at their new site. All staff have been helpful with our many questions along the way both face to face and via the telephone.
Very helpful handover today and totally stress free.

I have recently visited river motor homes in Hereford & feel I need to share my experience there.It was amazing!Absolutely no pushy sales person,the very opposite! All motor homes are unlocked,so could browse each one I was interested in without someone breathing down your neck.John left me to browse but anything I was interested in was soon available & I did actually take two out for a short drive,again no pressure.I was actually advised to go home & think things through & come back again anytime.I did actually go back the next day,still couldn’t decide.So to date,I haven’t actually purchased a motorhome yet but I can highly recommend this company they have some amazing motor homes at exceptional prices & hopefully one day very soon,I will purchase one from them.

I discovered that this company was suspended due to non-compliance from the National Caravan Council approved workshop scheme. Admin told me that they were to remove their literature from the motorhome website. They are still advertising now as a member although they have not removed the accreditation fooling the public 10/2/25. Rude owner, bad workmanship and customer service.

After trading in are old motorhome for a 2019 elddis back in June 2024. The problems began the day of collection when we had to wait for the carpets to dry, that they had a week to clean.
This was then followed by me discovering they had not given the vehicle an MOT as promised, this was then left to me to organise.
After handing over all documents and specificly asking about the road tax refund on my old vehicle l was informed that this would be automatically done and would not be a problem.
So after numerous phone calls it transpired that they hadn't told DVLA of the transfer, even after informing them after 4 weeks there was a problem.
So it now appears I'm out of pocket for around 5 months road tax, they did offer a free habitation check which would involve me making a 6 hour round trip plus supervising them in doing it properly as they can't be trusted to carry it out on their own.
All this with not even a phone call from the company director offering an apology for their failings.
So I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Rivermotorhomes (Stratford) sold us an ex demo Chausson with "all the bells and whistles"-a roof rack, ladder bike rack and extra fog lights, solar and a side bar light. The side bar light scraped on the awning every time it was opened and then fell off. The roof rack leaked due to lack of sealant and the extra fog lights came on one night and couldn't be turned off. The AA man said" the wiring is the worst I've ever seen". On taking the vehicle back to get the damp fixed only 3 of the 4 areas were fixed despite us supplying a full report of all 4 areas.The area with 90% damp was not attended to in the week it was left with them.
Many calls were made to try and get things fixed and in most instances the calls were not returned.
We would not recommend this company to anybody.

Collected our brand new Chausson 650 Etape line yesterday July 2024. Extremely pleased with the excellent service from all staff, from Barry in sales, to Andy at handover and the polite friendly ladies on the telephone, answering all of our anxious questions. This dealer has a huge selection of Motorhomes, Mini Caravans and roof tents in stock at very competitive prices.
Highly recommend River Motorhomes.

Ordered a Mink Camper from them at the Great Outdoor show. Was promised an open order and refund for 6 months, in writing. Since then I have had to cancel the order and they are refusing to send the refund via any of the secure methods I have offered. Now just ignoring me and the £995.00 they owe. Cannot be trusted.
