Scaramanga was founded in June 2006 by Carl Morenikeji when he came across on old iconic vintage leather satchel whilst travelling in India. Inspired by the style and quality, he sought out artisans who would use the traditional methods and tools to recreate modern leather satchels. Additionally, he started sourcing vintage furniture and thus Scaramanga became what it is today; a lifestyle brand handcrafting classic leather bags and supplying unique vintage furniture. Although only a small team, Scaramanga currently have 2 large warehouses and a store open to the public in Fife, which you are welcome to visit at any time. Although only a small team we are all passionate about our products and were delighted to receive the Retail Business of the Year award in 2013.

I ordered on Saturday for next day delivery. I know I should have read t&cs but didn’t. Obviously my parcel didn’t arrive next day, but my gripe is they still took the extra postage cost for next day delivery, knowing full well it wouldn’t arrive, then refused to refund the extra I paid.lesson learned. I have checked and this is also mentioned on the item page for the item that you ordered. Next working day delivery is standard practice for many businesses, particularly smaller ones, due to the delivery contracts they can access being more limited compared to larger brands. Quick delivery with no problems.
The box was not in great condition with 2 large holes at the back. I didn't expect it to be anywhere near perfect but I wish I had asked for pics before I bought.

Highly Recommended…
I have bought goods from this company for around 15 years now, and they have never let me down. The quality of the goods has always been excellent, from the smallest coin purse costing a few pounds to a large leather bag costing over a hundred the quality is consistent throughout. I will continue to use them in the future and would recommend them to anyone in an instant.

Disappointing....
The 3 stars are for the good customer service including a prompt refund. We were really excited to find a vintage chair in plain steel or brown which we bought. I emailed to ask for one of each colour to go with our new concrete resin dining table. We were really disappointed to receive an email the next day to tell us they were no longer available. It's really frustrating when online companies don't keep on top of their website and sell stuff no longer available. The alternatives offered were very different and of a very inferior quality to the ones we bought, awful in comparison. They were nothing like the ones I'd bought.It also doesn't give me confidence when they have more than one for sale and put this in the description either
'Orders for more than one chair will be made up of a mix of chair makers, shades of brown and colour finishes, there may also be small variations in the shape and style of each chair.'
I think with this kind of item it is really important to be able to choose what you are actually buying when the quality and styles can obviously differ. You just get to see the stock photo 🤷

Thank you for your review, I'm sorry you were unhappy with your experience.
Unfortunately, due to our items all being authentic antiques or vintage, we do often have some differentiation between items when it comes to homewares we have multiples in stock of. We do our best to keep the website updated with images and detailed descriptions of the most current stock available.
In this case, we were coming to the end of the available stock of our rustic chairs, so we could only offer the small quantity we have left. I'm pleased that my colleagues provided such good service to let you know that this was the case and provided you with the most appropriate outcome given the circumstances. We are a small team but we do pride ourselves on providing the best customer service possible, and getting the best outcome for our customer that we can.
We have since received more stock of the rustic chairs last week that look exactly like the images online, it was just unfortunate that for a short while we were so low in stock that all we could offer you were what we had left. It's rare that this happens and I sincerely apologise for all inconvenience caused.

Just what was wanted
The two vintage padlocks were as expected, arrived promptly and have proved an extremely satisfactory purchase. I particularly appreciated being emailed a number of photos prior to purchase which enabled me to select the padlocks which most suited my purpose.
