Our Son named Charlie who is autistic visited the store today with his Dad to purchase a new tarantula (which is special interest) A member of staff named Tegan was very patient and understanding and answered all of his many questions. Nothing was too much trouble for her, thank you so much for being so helpful!!

Had a great experience! I was really excited to get some fish after waiting over a month for my tank to cycle... This was the first time I had ever been here and it was a really helpful place...

I was helped by Natalia, she was so informative regarding the selection and care of the fish I wanted. She helped me select the best fish for the tank I had and what fish worked well together (I didn't realize one type of fish I wanted would try and eat the other haha)

Overall it was a great experience and they are lucky to have staff like Natalia. I would definitely recommend if you are looking to get fish as a beginner

My pump broke this morning and I called. Gina talked me through what you had and I popped down at lunchtime. Gina sorted me out with a pump and it is now running.

I recently purchased Beefheart discus food from Shirley Aquatics, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Delivered promptly by DHL the following day, the package was well-insulated with freezer packs to maintain freshness. Everything was just as anticipated. Plus, Shirley Aquatics offers a price that's seven pounds less than my former supplier, making it my new favorite shop for orders. A big thank you to everyone at Shirley Aquatics for their excellent service and customer care!

This is specifically for the Marine Section. There has been a change of department manager his name is Mike. The Marine section looks 1000% better. He was knowledgeable and all the Apitasia has gone the tanks are clean and very well stocked. The range of coral was great and well-priced. It is a massive improvement!! I tested the water when I got home and the parameters were good. I was very impressed with the dramatic change in the quality and care in this section of the store. Mike was enthusiastic and also has a WhatsApp Group for Reefers. This is now the best place to go in the area for Marine tanks for miles around.

Was looking for help with my tank for bit and bobs (filter pumps heaters ) and Gina approached me and I couldn't fault her with the service she provided would recommend anyone and everyone to speck to Gina very knowageable in the fish keeping

Today myself and my fiancé went into Shirley’s just to get some new enclosure parts but ended up walking out with a new snake thanks to Nigel and his wife who helped us with any questions about the breed of snake that we had been wanting for a while Nigel made sure we had everything needed to look after our new snake and also gave us tips to deal with our snake Nigel and his wife offered to help us take everything back to our car as well I have been in before to grab supplies and each time they have helped us

Terrible experience. We bought 7 fish for my son to join existing aquarium (in Nov 2025). All of them died within ten days and infected the rest of the tank with what we believe to be white spot disease and killed our existing fish - we had no problems with the aquarium before this. Clearly not a happy thing for our son to watch happen. My husband has been in contact with them - email, calling and leaving message, and no one has bothered to call back. Steer clear. Appalling customer service.

We were served by Celia, and she was absolutely fantastic! We came in as complete novices 🐟 looking for a starter fish tank and had no idea whether to go for cold-water or tropical fish. This is a special Christmas present for the whole family, as our kids have been asking for a fish for a while, so we wanted to get it right.

Celia was incredibly helpful, patient, and informative. She gave us plenty of time and space to make our decision, while sharing lots of useful advice. Thanks to her, we learned about preparing the water ecosystem 💧 before adding fish and plants—something we had no clue about (I would have put them straight into tap water on day one!).

In the end, we bought a fish tank with a cabinet and all the essential accessories to prepare the water for our new pets. We’ll definitely be back soon with the kids to choose fish, plants, and decorations once everything is ready. Thank you, Celia, for making this experience so easy and enjoyable!

To busy in the tropical and miserable staff.

We have now bought tropical fish from Shirley Aquatics on 3 separate occasions and shortly after each visit the fish have died. We regularly change the water and test the ph and we have bought fish from other aquatics centres and had absolutely no issues. Our most recent visit has resulted in the fish we bought all dying within 2 weeks from white spot disease and passing this on to other fish in the tank that were healthy and have also died. Do not buy tropical fish from here there is clearly an issue with quality.

Visited Shirely Aquatics today. A member of staff called Gina was extremley helpful , knowledgeable & friendly. Advised me on Tropical plants & food. Also advised on what fish i could have with Shrimp in my tank.

Went to shirly aquatics yesterday with green hair algae problem I meet Natalia she was very helpful with the best way to deal this problem. I also asked about information on corals for my tank she had loads of useful information on the subject and I will be visiting the store to buy corals

What an education and great experience!! Started looking for my new Koi and Ron saw me and spoke to me in depth about options and different kinds of choices! If you want to know anything Koi related, Ron’s your man! Very very knowledgeable and experienced man! Will be back for some more in spring! Thanks 🙏🏻

Visited with an aquarium algae issue that I have been unable to clear. Spoke with Gina who took me through a number of options in order to address this. Her knowledge was very extensive in respect of both tanks and welfare and she took the time to show me examples of what I needed in other established tanks. No oressure to buy, in fact she discouraged so until I had been through a full elimination process. Excellent service thank you!!
